Newt Gingrich was defending anti-communist foreign policy when he got Tip O'Neill's words taken down
C-SPAN ^ | May 15, 1984 | Newt Gingrich

The moment that made Gingrich was when he got Tip O'Neill so all fire mad that Tip made statements in violation of House rules and had his words "taken down," a major parliamentary slap on the hindquarters. You can watch the C-SPAN video here:

Tip O'Neill's words taken down.

Now, this week we've heard the RINOs try to slam Gingrich's attitude to Reagan's foreign policy vis-a-vis the communists, trying to claim that when the liberals in the House were criticizing Reagan's policy and threatening to cut off funding for the Contras, Gingrich was right along them agreeing with it.

How stupid do they think we are? The moment that propelled Gingrich into conservative super-stardom was when he got Tip O'Neill's words taken down. The reason Tip got so pissed? Because Gingrich had pointed out that members of the Democratic caucus had nearly committed treason by sending a propaganda love letter to Daniel Ortega, the guy the Soviets were supporting and the contras were fighting!

Gingrich became a superstar by defending Reagan's policies vis-a-vis Nicaragua!

Tip O'Neill got angry because Gingrich got too close to the truth! That's why he slammed Gingrich, and that's why his words were taken down. That one of the biggest reasons why TODAY Newt is considered an arch-conservative. It was the day when Gingrich went from an obscure back-bencher to a leading conservative.

All these Romneybots trying to criticize Gingrich for not supporting Reagan's foreign policy are idiots. This was a major moment in the modern conservative movement, and it completely destroys the Romney supporters thesis that Gingrich was against Reagan's anti-communist policy. It also proves that, contrary to the Romney people's claims, Newt WAS on the forefront supporting Reagan's anti-Soviet policies in the House.

How stupid do they think we are, that we wouldn't remember this watershed moment?!WE WILL NOT LET THE ROMNIACS RE-WRITE CONSERVATIVE HISTORY!
