If Sandusky were properly in jail,

Generally, in the US, we wait until trial and a guilty verdict to jail people.

Typically, people accused of this many counts are given no bail and therefore would be in jail pending the trial.

IF you can post bail that is true.

IF I was charged with those crimes my bail would no doubt exceed the value of my net worth which is not $1.98.

Sandusky is getting special treatment as a rich sports figure.Nothing new.

No, we jail potential (accused) miscreants, post them before a judge who sets bail or remands.

True enough. I've seen a lot of people go easy on Sandusky: he deserves his day in court. We will eventually decide if he is guilty and what his punishment might be.

Paterno, on the other hand, was found guilty without a trial, fired, humilated, and hounded to death. [shrug]

IMO, Sandusky has received much kinder treatment than Paterno and I cannot understand it.
