I know. Newt had his chance Thursday night and blew it.
I agree with you 100%. The best time to refute lies is when they are told — not in ads several days later. And, I just can’t accept Newt’s explanation that he was so stunned by Romney’s lies that he was speechless. Come on, if Newt gets the nomination, he will be facing the father of lies in the debates. And we sure don’t need a repeat performance of his Romney debate performance.
I think Newt needs to remember one of my favorite lines from the movie “Armed and Dangerous.” One of the night watchman recruits asks the instructor, “If a man lies to you, and you know he’s lying, can you shoot him?”
Yes, Newt, you can shoot him. In fact, you must!
He only “blew it” if you act that way. The whole thing was set up by the moderator to be a personal catfight between Gingrich and Romney; Romney obviously came prepared to attack, and Gingrich didn’t because he thought that the subject would be policy. And as usual, he got relatively few of the questions after the personal attack part of the program had limped to its end, although he was certainly good on the policy things.
I think we are all hoping to see him stick a spike through what passes for Romney’s heart, but that’s not going to happen, particularly since now the entire GOP elite and even most of those we believed to be conservative intellectuals have moved into an offensive wedge around Romney to protect him and drive him through our lines.
Gingrich is our only hope against the GOP establishment, however, and our only hope to beat Obama, and we can’t give up.
Doesn’t it seem like we’re in the general election now? We gotta do this whole thing over again once Newt wins!

We have a war on in this party, they are destroying who ever surfaces that conservatives approve of.
I don’t think it’s too late.
With so many ballots in early, it is difficult to predict the outcome of course. But more recently it’s swinging Newt’s way. The interruption came Thurs night when Newt was gobsmacked with absurd lies ... seems he wasn’t as prepared as he could have been.
The stories and ads coming between Thurs night and thru Tues will be that Romney lied - a lot.

If Romney wins FL, that won’t be happening. The only hope I see for Newt is an endorsement from Marco Rubio and that won’t happen. Newt pissed off Rubio when he ran an ad saying that RINO-Rom was anti-immigrant. After Rubio rebuked him, Newt withdrew the ad. Turn out the lights; the party’s over.
Imagine this man as President? I'm telling you, it's going to be VERY difficult for me to convince myself it's "anybody but Obama" come election day if neither Santorum or Newt win the nomination. It's like we have to choose between the devil and one of his demons and I'm not sure yet which of the two is which.
We have to win this primary!
I have to agree with you that the accusation of Romney being anti immigrant was not a smart move by the Newt campaign.
They should have seen that it could have repercussions,,ie upset someone like Rubio.
But why would Marco care and choose to defend Romnuts? It’s up to Mittens to answer for himself...which probably would have resulted in his usual stuttering, half truth response.
the lie that Romney told in the last debate that absolutely floored me was about immigration.
Suddenly after MONTHS of Romney bashing Perry over immergration... SUDDENLY Romney becomes all pro illegal immergrant.
Romney turned on a dime! and for the first time ever got sort of worked up over an issue! (it must finally have felt good to him to be arguing the side he actually believes in!)
Geesh, I sure hope you are wrong about that — but I fear you are right. I sure hope folks like Sarah are aggressively back channeling with Rubio to get him forget his umbrage and give Newt his endorsement. What a mess!

I’m beginning to think that Newt is over-rated as far as his debate skills are concerned.....I live in Florida and WILL NOT vote for Romney.....I’m not convinced Newt would wipe the floor with (can’t even stand to type his name)....Romney stood there and lied while the audience ate it up, just like the present lying @@@hole in the oval office will....

In ads, a picture is worth a thousand words.
I wish Newt would use the picture of the Bain people’s money stuffed pockets, showing their disdain they have for money. Is that what they hope to use to buy the presidency?
And use the picture of Romney laughing it up as he signs Romneycare. (Waivers for me/us but not for thee/them.
Finally, hold up the Obamacare chart visual and rip the thing to shreds.
Yes, and Romney is now trying to convince people that he’s Mexican or the child of “Mexican immigrants.” (This was because his great grandfather fled to Mexico from Utah with his wives after polygamy was outlawed and the family - Salt Lake City polygamy-practicing Mormons, not Mexicans - lived there for awhile and then later the non-polygamous ones returned to the US.)
I don’t know how anybody can keep a straight face when Romney speaks, but Romney lies as easily as he breathes, and I think that’s what flummoxes people.
