Allen West being redistricted out of existence in effort led by Romney Florida spokesman

The establishment is fighting back, alright.

This has not received a lot of national attention, but the Republican legislature in Florida is about to push through a plan which puts Allen West at serious risk, and the person leading the effort is one of Mitt Romney’s spokemen. As reported by The Shark Tank:

Once elected they all become members of the Club. Thereafter, the Dems are power hungry and the GOP are enablers. The Dems want to rule the world and the GOP want to have front row seats for photo ops, perks and pensions.

A true second party or term limits for elected officials (and staffers)will stop the rot of this one party of a revolving door ruling class.

Amendment 6 did this, not the legislature. The legislature’s authority to directly draw lines was taken away and given to a “bipartisan” commission...we know how that goes.

2008 and 2010 was when it was out in the open. The evidence could no longer be denied.

in 2008, McCain ran a campaign where he was consistently behind Obama with the exception being the week or two he announced that Sarah Palin was his VP pick. He never took the campaign seriously and even said things like, “Barack Obama is a nice man. Don’t call him ‘Hussein’. You can trust him..” Worse, he suspended his campaign to lobby in the Senate to plunge our nation further into debt. I knew then it was all over but the crying.

In 2010, JD Hayworth put his money where his mouth was and went up against McCain. McCain came out swinging and you’d think someone had shot his dog. He pulled out the stops and ran attack ads and called in chips with Sarah Palin. Even said he’d “Build the damn fence, if that’s what they really wanted.” I kept asking myself, “Where was THIS McCain in 2008???”

http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php/Florida_Congressional_District_Boundaries,_Amendment_6_(2010)

This has nothing to do with the GOP or Allen West in particular - the legislature’s authority was stripped. The legislature challenged this in court and lost. This amendment was a powerplay by the ACLU and the Democrats and it worked to cause the coastal GOP candidates to be wiped out.

From the link above:

As of August 2011 the Florida redistricting process remained ongoing. According to reports, the two constitutional amendments approved by voters in 2010 may tweak that process and impact Republicans in the coastal communities.

If the amendments succeed in limiting gerrymandering in Florida, many Democrats believe the change would weaken the state’s entrenched GOP majority. Republicans argue that their success is based on ideology not partisan districts.[24]

The impact of the amendments on Republicans could be sharply felt in the state’s coastal communities. Several of these districts stretch along the coast, uniting coastal communities but dividing counties and municipalities. Since the amendments require that county and city lines are respected where possible, these districts may have to be re-drawn. However, local Republicans argue that these communities share common interests, interests that should be respected in redistricting. The legislators most likely to be affected include: US Rep. Allen West (R-22), State Sen. Ellyn Bogdanoff (R-91), and State Reps. George Moraitis (R-91), Bill Hager (R-87), Pat Rooney (R-83), William Snyder (R-82), and Jeff Clemens (R-89).[25]

This article posted is quite selective on its facts - the top target of the Democrats in getting this amendment passed was Allen West...after it was passed they already knew West would be in serious trouble. Maybe some are happy to try to get rid of West - certainly possible...however, with that amendment being the law of the land, he was going to be in a bad situation regardless.

I kept asking myself, “Where was THIS McCain in 2008???”

You are talking about two very different types of campaigns, primary and general elections, and equating them.

The things that motivate conservatives to vote for a candidate, do not work on moderate and liberal voters. Attacking Obama would have motivated conservatives to vote for McCain, but would also motivate liberals to vote for Obama, and turn off moderate voters. Candidates need over 50% of the vote to win. A winning Republican tries to get most of the conservative vote and most of the moderate vote, while suppressing the liberal vote...that is why smart politicians use a proxy to attack their opponent in a general election.

In a primary, both candidates are going after the same conservative voters...so pointing out that JD was a hypocritical, big government spending, entitlement pushing infomercial salesman, that couldn't win reelection in his tiny little congressional district, didn't hurt McCain with conservative voters.

In the 1850s, the Republican Party was created in the state of Wisconsin because the Whig Party did not represent the view of the people. Abraham Lincoln was a Whig candidate, up until that time when he became the first candidate under the Republican banner.

Is it now time to replace the Republican Party....the Party who is at war with We The People?

Not accurate - Lincoln was the Second GOP Presidential candidate.

Still no one commenting on the fact this was caused by Amendment 6 and this was all but certain to happen if Amendment 6 passed and did not get overturned. It seems we are increasingly starting to be making emotion-based arguments rather than fact based arguments...a trait normally found by those on the other side of the spectrum. The Democrats are getting a double victory on this one - the amendment getting passed to begin with to get rid of West, and now people blaming it on the GOP legislature.

If I were in McCain's place, I definitely would have ran that risk. I would have defined myself starkly against Obama made people chose. I damn sure wouldn't have suspended my campaign to fill the treasury with more IOUs made in the name of the American people.

OK Einstein,

First of all I ain’t no RINO.

>>it WILL NOT be a vote for Obama unless he actually votes for Obama<<

Of course it is. Although it may not be possible, let me try to explain this to you.

Imagine there are nine voters and two candidates, the non-Obama and Obama.

Four of the voters cast votes for Obama and the rest cast their votes for the non-Obama EXCEPT for you and ph12321.

So that’s four votes for Obama and three for the other guy.

Obama Wins! Good job! Just what Obama and the RINOs have in mind.

How do I know? It happens all the time.

Using this brilliant strategy, who else did you vote for, Carter? Clinton? Obama in the last election?

“Sarah Palin was fought by romney’s people”

Here is the 800lb elephant in the room. They are LDS and Palin is Evangelical Christian...one of those “gracers” that LDS’ers label evangelicals with!

Romney is the LDS foot into the door of real power in America. While he may be cynical in his own personal beliefs, he has a willing host of volunteers that fanatically believe in their cause and will spin any tale and twist any truth, if it advances the LDS. Reid of the senate is Democrat but he is Mormon and therefore a natural enemy of Protestant evangelicals. Democrat progressives and Mormons both have an interest in diluting conservative Judeo Christianity’s influence in America and both have triumphalist goals!

Well, they don't have any choice, now, because Conservatives are fighting back.

Before the TEA party movement, Conservatives, tried to get candidates and influence policy, got lots of promises from the establishment 'pubbies, and got tossed under the bus before the last ballot went in the box.

Now? We've had a bellyfull of that crap, so they have to fight us to keep control of the Party.

Re you #16:

“Redistricting a black candidate out of office will present it’s own set of problems.”

Don’t count on it.

West has forfeited his racial status by being conservative.
Affirmative action privilege no longer applies when one strays from the Collectivist “Progressive” Plantation.

Just ask Justice Clarance Thomas, Amb. Allan Keyes or former Candidate Herman Cain how that works.

No doubt Lt.Col. West is well aware of the rule, and is not the least bit surprised by this development.

If it is any consolation, our conservative Republican Maine Governor Paul LePage was formerly the Mayor of Waterville, Maine, a predominantly Democrat city. When he ran for Governor, about 700 registered Democrats wrote him in, despite their votes being disqualified by doing so.

There seems to be at least some traditional Democrats out there who are waking up and getting a clue or two, and not all of them are exactly ecstatic about their current regime or the direction our Country is being steered in by the Kenyan Mullah.

I’m not suggesting that this is going to make West’s situation easy, but it might not be quite as insurmountable as it appears.

The FL Legislature is making this out to be a random function of the law and there wasn’t anything they could do about it, although I agree that it certainly stinks of establishment party manipulation.

I have long maintained that the GOP establishment would much rather see Obama re elected and our Country go down the flush than to allow a conservative to ever again darken the White House door.

If they can’t get “their” party back from the annoying Tea Party interlopers, then they WILL DESTROY it - and the Republic along with it, if need be. Control it or burn it.

Think I’m wrong?

Fine...

...Just watch.
