Romney Advisor: Putting the boot on the neck of Gingrich. Aiming to destroy Gingrich in FL for good.
Buzz Feed ^

Posted on 01/29/2012 12:30:25 PM PST by Windy City Conservative

After Gingrich Newt scored a surprise blow-out victory in South Carolina last week, the former Massachusetts governor not only unleashed a political broadside of epic proportions.

"It not about winning here anymore," one Romney staffer told BuzzFeed. "It's about destroying Gingrich — and it's working."

After two standout debate performances that put him up 9 points in recent polls, Romney is keeping the pressure on Gingrich, looking to score a blow-out victory of his own here.

To that end, Romney has rolled out a team of surrogates in the Sunshine State to take the fight to Gingrich in person: from Connie Mack (III) and Connie Mack (IV), to Rep. Jason Chaffetz and Sen. John McCain. Romney has also aired a controversial ad featuring Tom Brokaw announcing that Gingrich had been sanctioned by the House.

Today both Macks took the stage before Romney to attack Gingrich's character, proclaiming that he has a “checkered past with ethics and honesty."

Romney also launched into his longest attack directed squarely at Gingrich, devoting almost four minutes of his 18 minute stump speech attacking the former Speaker of the House.

"Mr. Speaker, your trouble in Florida is not because the audience is too quiet or too loud or because you have opponents that are tough," Romney said, comparing Gingrich's complaints about debate audiences to Goldilocks. Then, with a broad smile on his face, he listed the reasons why Florida voters are now moving away from Gingrich's campaign.

"Your problem in Florida is that you worked for Freddie Mac at a time when Freddie Mac was not doing the right thing for the American people," he added.

Shortly after Romney's remarks, his campaign emailed "Earth to Newt: Tell The Truth" detailing a long list of alleged lies while mocking his ambitious space agenda.

Nice scenario, but the vote hasn’t came in yet, MittBot.

One thing you forget is that with the destructiveness that Romney has brought since Iowa, conservatives will NEVER support him.

He is an inbred prick.

Don't ever leave the top of the card blank.

Someone will fill it in for you if you do that.

Oh, the GOP-E will learn. The thing is, they don’t care. Their ideal scenario is a RINO Romney presidency. But if their only two choices were Obama and Newt, they’d choose Obama every time.

Romney is quite capable of losing like Dukakis, maybe even like Mondale, and taking the House down with him. I wonder how bad he’d have to lose, to take down the party.

I think Team Romney put all they have into FL, and hopefully won’t be able to repeat elsewhere. That’s not too good for them (thank GOD).

To paraphrae: For the first time in my adult life I am ashamed to be a Republican. Watching what’s transpired over the past week makes me feel literally dirty. Romney and those who are working with him will never earn my respect, much less my vote. Until this week I’d said I’ll support whoever ends up with the GOP nomination. Now I know if it’s Romney, I will write in someone else, and frankly not feel guilty cause he is every bit as bad as Obama.

“Your bio on your about page reads about as realistic as the story of the Three Little Pigs!!! I think you are a planted TROLL!!!!”

Gee, that was nice.....and I am very offeneded that you would rip my bio like that as it is very true and probaly the only thing I really like to tell about myself......but you go ahead believe what you want believe.

All I was trying to was vent my frustration at how things are shaping up. Everywhere we all turn we are getting Mitt Romney shoved down our throats. It feels like our version of Barack 0bama of four years ago. No matter where you turn there he is. Romney sets the same feeling of disgust and sickness in me that 0bama does. Like 0bama, his voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me. I can’t stand to hear the SOB speak and I am full of fear when November rolls around and I see the ballot, the two names at the top will be Barack 0bama and Mitt Romney. It makes me ill.

If voicing my frustration, anger and fear makes me a troll, then I am a troll. Still, I am sorry for offending you.

"I get that part. I get the part about Willard destroying conservatives. But I will remember this. I will never, ever support, or vote for, Romney. I would prefer Obama."

Same here! Exactly. And that's just what will happen if that phony Pro-Abortion, Socialistic Health Care peddler Romney were to get the GOP Nom. I wouldn't vote for Romney for anything. When Obama is re-elected, we'll just have to wait 4 years to turn things around and rid the Party of RINOS. Meanwhile, we just support the Tea Party and beefing-up the Senate and Congress with like-minded folks.

GO NEWT!!!

If you support Obama, you are NOT a conservative. PERIOD.
I support Gingrich. I would prefer Obama to Romney as there is no functional distinction between the two except that one is dishonest enough to claim that he's a Republican.

Hope Romney understands that winning dirty has its consequences. Should be satisfying to watch that which goes around, come around in the fall.

I think a very interesting byproduct if Romney is the nominee and the media begins trashing Mormonism, will be the effect on Beck’s viewers. I doubt very many of them know anything at all about Mormonism, and they will be appalled and have any number of reactions, and I doubt many will be positive.

“WOW can you just imagine that, 4 more years of Obama, we won’t have a country by the time he is done destroying it.”
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

True but most of the work of destroying the country was finished by the time Obama showed up on the scene. It was only his job to put the icing on the Devil’s cake and he is so nearly finished that it may not matter one whit who wins this election.
