Romney Advisor: Putting the boot on the neck of Gingrich. Aiming to destroy Gingrich in FL for good.
Buzz Feed ^

Posted on 01/29/2012 12:30:25 PM PST by Windy City Conservative

After Gingrich Newt scored a surprise blow-out victory in South Carolina last week, the former Massachusetts governor not only unleashed a political broadside of epic proportions.

"It not about winning here anymore," one Romney staffer told BuzzFeed. "It's about destroying Gingrich — and it's working."

After two standout debate performances that put him up 9 points in recent polls, Romney is keeping the pressure on Gingrich, looking to score a blow-out victory of his own here.

To that end, Romney has rolled out a team of surrogates in the Sunshine State to take the fight to Gingrich in person: from Connie Mack (III) and Connie Mack (IV), to Rep. Jason Chaffetz and Sen. John McCain. Romney has also aired a controversial ad featuring Tom Brokaw announcing that Gingrich had been sanctioned by the House.

Today both Macks took the stage before Romney to attack Gingrich's character, proclaiming that he has a “checkered past with ethics and honesty."

Romney also launched into his longest attack directed squarely at Gingrich, devoting almost four minutes of his 18 minute stump speech attacking the former Speaker of the House.

"Mr. Speaker, your trouble in Florida is not because the audience is too quiet or too loud or because you have opponents that are tough," Romney said, comparing Gingrich's complaints about debate audiences to Goldilocks. Then, with a broad smile on his face, he listed the reasons why Florida voters are now moving away from Gingrich's campaign.

"Your problem in Florida is that you worked for Freddie Mac at a time when Freddie Mac was not doing the right thing for the American people," he added.

Shortly after Romney's remarks, his campaign emailed "Earth to Newt: Tell The Truth" detailing a long list of alleged lies while mocking his ambitious space agenda.

I got a call from them asking for support and I told them that I was sending all donations to the Newt Gingrich campaign and that I would no longer be supporting the GOP or anyone that backs Mitt Romney. The guy was totally upset and did not like it one bit. I just hung up on him after that. :)

Have a plan if we can get it to the right people to spread the word.

Since Florida is a winner take all state and
Since Rick Santorum is home with his family, and
SInce the number of people supporting Willard is much less than the combination of Newt+Rick’s total

Can we make the suggestion that in Florida the Santorum backers cast their vote for the conservative that can beat the Moderate candidate.

If RUSH/Sarah/Rick/FR/teaparty others could get this message out (Not Newt it would sound desperate)it would easily put Newt over the top in FL.

To any Romney operatives reading this board (and we know you are), head this message;

Keep up this vicious negative campaigning at your own peril. “Your guy” might win the nomination, but in doing so he will have burned enough bridges with the conservative movement to guarantee that he will lose against Obama.

I’ll turn out and vote in November, but I might just leave the top of the card blank. I don’t see any upside to having a RINO in the Oval Office versus the current resident.

I’ll vote straight conservative on the down ticket, but you, sir, will never get my vote.

I think we need to put the boot on the necks of the National Republic Party who decides before the primaries who they want to be their representative. I agree that they are out to destroy Conservatives but all they have done is make us angry.
I will not vote for either Romney, Paul or Obama but will write in Newt’s name before I will lower myself any longer. I held my nose & voted the Republican line for Dole & McCain but the Republican Party is no longer my Party. I left the Democrats because they went Socialist, Republicans are now the new Democrats & the Conservatives are now the Tea Party. I have already hung up on Romney robo calls here in Fl. Romney is no better than Obama & I bet that if he is President he will “NOT” repeal Obama care since its taken from his Romney care. I can’t believe that most the Democrat voters haven’t awoke to the fact that their party is no longer the Democrat Party but a Socialist Party & out to destroy the USA. We need to fight for our country even if most everyone is against us - God bless the USA!

Romney is ALL about destroying the Conservative movement, and apparently has the approval of the Republican party to do it. This might be the easiest election Obama has ever won..he doesnt even need to pander to illegals to vote for him, this time he could win legit. I will NEVER EVER vote for Obama, I’d rather slit my wrist then vote for him, but unfortunately with Romney as the nominee Obama is a lock for 4 more years. WOW can you just imagine that, 4 more years of Obama, we won’t have a country by the time he is done destroying it.

“I arrived at that shortly before things got really nasty. The reasoning went like this: In a Romney vs Obama contest, if the conservatives don’t vote for Romney, he’ll lose by about 20 points; if they hold nose and vote for Romney he’ll lose by about 10 points.

Romney deserves to lose by 20. Teach the party a lesson and don’t vote for Romney.”

Great point. Well said.

You must have forgotten. Obama is much worse than Romney. At least, Romney will listen to Republicans, and we’ll see if the country is in better shape after Romney’s 2nd term in 2020. That is if Romney were to ever win a 1st term.

But this is all cart before the horse. We’re still in the middle of a GOP Primary here, and guess what. Romney doesn’t have a bottomless pit of money. What he starts running low, the man with the ideas will start to win again. That’s Newt!

In the past few days I’ve posted contact info for Santorum, numerous times. He probably has no intention of endorsing Newt in FL, though it is blindingly obvious that that would be the right thing to do.
Which leaves appeals to individual Floridians. If anyone’s got a Florida email list, interest group, or the like, take a few minutes to send off a message to them. Be polite and reasonable of course, but urge them to vote Newt to stop the oncoming Romney.

obama has all the liberal politicians and the media on his side. Romney has all the RINO politicians and the media on his side. Guess which side the media WON’T be on in the general election. And I’m not sure about the RINOs either.

Message to GO PEE field more conservative candidates or DIE.

I used to simply disagree with RINOmney.

I have come to disrespect him, disdain him
and now consider him not just a liar, but sleazy and despicable...

I will not vote for him under any circumstances now.
