It was just a chance encounter on a downtown street but she was instantly enamored.
Ive seen you on TV. Youre so cute, said the woman who would later accuse Greg Kelly of rape, according to a law-enforcement source.
The brunette crossed paths with the handsome Good Day New York host two days before the alleged attack.
She stopped him, the source said. She told him she was star-struck.
DA TAKING HIS TIME ON CASE
What followed was about 48 hours of marathon sexting ahead of their Saturday-night date at the South Street Seaport.
The texts were explicit, said the source. They were sexual. They talked about what they wanted to do to each other.
It was two days of foreplay.
Kelly and the 29-year-old paralegal an aspiring model and actress whose name is being withheld by The Post also spoke by phone and exchanged e-mails before meeting up, the source said.
On the night of their date, the womans boyfriend was at home, so she concocted an excuse to get out on her own.
She lied to the boyfriend to meet Greg that night. She said, Im going out with a girlfriend, said the source.
They ordered drinks at a seaport bar, running up a tab that another source has described as laughably low and then headed to the womans lower-Manhattan law firm.
They had sex there right in her bosss office, the source said.
If the woman was upset about the randy romp, she gave no clue in follow-up messages to Kelly, the son of Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, the source said.
They continued to text, the source said. Part of it was about arranging another date.
In total, there were 17 text messages between the two.

Is Greg married?
Considering that she was willing to text him afterwards, it doesn’t sound like rape to me.
It sounds like her boyfriend may have found out about the texts and she had to cover her backside about it.
This is an orchestrated attempted to take out Greg’s father, Ray, a Republican, from the Mayoral race in NYC.
When a lady says “no” she means “maybe.”
When a lady says “maybe” she means “yes.”
When a lady says “yes” she’s no lady.
Sounds like someone thinks the real world is just like academe, where “rape” and “sexual assault” seem to mean have elastic meanings ranging from what they mean to ordinary English speakers to any sex a woman later regrets and there is no presumption of innocence or right to confront the accuser when the accuser is female and the accused is male.
If the facts of the case are adequately reflected in this article, I hope the New York prosecutor’s office throws the proverbial book at her for filing a false report and Mr. Kelly files and wins a lawsuit for defamation.
I don’t think so. Neither of the stories about this allegation mentions a current or previous marriage, nor does his Wikipedia entry.
Is Gloria Allred on her speed dial?
Let’s see - goes out to have drinks with a man not her boyfriend - lies that she’s going out with a woman friend - wants a private place instead of a public bar and goes to her office with date because boyfriend is home.
Finds herself pregnant and boyfriend has had a vasectomy.
In total, there were 17 text messages between the two.
You dont text your rapist other than to say, Youre awful, the source said.
But the woman, whose brother is an NYPD sergeant assigned to the crime-scene unit, insisted she was sexually assaulted by Greg Kelly..."
Ultimately I bet Kelly walks.
Sorry, that ain’t rape. That is a setup. By the woman.
“”Kelly, the son of Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, the source said. “”
Is this the former Marine who used to report on FOX??
I hate it when that happens....ya tend to get the "blues."
Yes and it sounds consentual to me.
I guess now Greg knows how Mike Tyson felt when he was accused of rape.
Mike got convicted.
Not only should he walk, but he should sue the girl for malicious prosecution if he is prosecuted, libel if he is not. The privilege for reporting information to the police does not attach to statements made in bad faith, knowing they are false.
Seems the woman became pregnant and had an abortion and the boyfriend has had a vasectomy.
I think the abortion messed her mind up and now she’s blaming the sperm donor for getting her pregnant. Punishment time.
O.K. I,ve read the whole story and this is what it sounds like to me.
She wanted to have a tryst with this man unbeknownst to her boyfriend. She texted him a ton before they met, she lied to the boyfriend on where she was going, she met up with him and they had sex in her fathers office. Texts then continued on after this incident.
Close to 3 months go by and she finds out shes pregnant and she tells the boyfriend that she didn’t want to tell him that this man raped her. Now her story spirals out of control and she now has to stick with the story or lose everything - boyfriend included.
This is my take! Anyone else?
Oooooooh.
A previous Freeper had said that, but I thought he was being facetious. If that’s ture, I guess the boyfriend didn’t need to accidentally find any texts or emails.
Story identifies him as “a single former marine.”
Yes. Still a Marine Reservist, apparently (not that I would presume to endorse the reference to any Marine as “former”, mind you), and one of the reporters embedded with the troops in 2003.
Maybe you *think* when a lady says no she means maybe.
If you perpetuate these lies you are part of the problem.
Ah, thanks. I missed the “single”, or thought it meant as opposed to multiple, or something...
Often it depends on how she says "no". Sometimes "no" means "not yet". Guys historically have had the burden of dealing with women's emotional chaos and making some sort of guess as to how an initiative would be received. If she pulls a weapon, that generally considered a definite "no", although some girls might consider it foreplay. I tried to stay away from those, way back when.
We don't generally get engraved invitations telling us to show up at her apartment at 8pm Friday with a box of condoms. Or maybe that's how it's done these days -- it's been many years since I was dealing with the dating game.
The old saying “Marry in haste, repent at leisure,” could also apply to careless fornication.
What I posted way above were the “old rules”.
The “new rules” end like this:
When a lady says, “yes”, she means “maybe...until the statute of limitations has run out.”
Ha. I tripped on that too. A single guy instead of two or three.
Anyhow it sounds to me like Kelly is getting jobbed here big-time.
Have it happen enough times, and society will need to adopt a new rule about rape: "If she doesn't report it within an hour of the occurrence, consent will be assumed in the absence of very convincing physical evidence to the contrary".
Maybe it’s just me, but it really irks me that she can drag his reputation through the dirt for what may well turn out to be baseless charges (and it sure sounds like it) yet she is “nameless”.... yea that’s fair ...
I doubt that most prosecutors even bother to look for that "proverbial book" to throw. False accusation of rape is apparently considered to be a very low priority crime. Crystal Gail Mangum did not serve one minute in jail for falsely accusing the Duke lacrosse players, though she was obviously guilty.
In most of the false rape accusation cases that I have read about, charges against the man are dropped after he spends a fortune in legal fees and has his reputation permanently tarnished, while the false accuser receives a little reprimand from the judge and perhaps some court-ordered therapy.
On those apparently rare occasions when a false accuser is actually tried and convicted, the sentences I have read about are far shorter than those typically received by convicted rapists. DOJ data from 1992 shows the average sentence for rape to be almost ten years, with average time actually served at about 5 1/2 years. If my cursory Google searches can be relied upon, the average sentence for false accusation of rape is about a year, and community service seems to be regarded as an adequate substitute for jail time.
My impressions and numbers may be wrong, but as usual with politically incorrect subject matter, it is difficult to find good quality data.
Us gals, historically, have had the burden of dealing with men's emotional advances. A friendly smile is interpreted as "she wants me" or "she really wants me" while it's just a smile or possibly a charitable gesture.
When a woman says no she means it. If you hang out with emotional basket cases - well what do you expect? I personally wouldn't hang out with a guy who doesn't understand the language.
More precisely, when YOU say no, you mean it. The reason why men tend to ask again later after being given one "no" is because a statistically-significant percentage of women change their minds and say "yes".
Perhaps initially she said "no" because she just was in a bad mood. Perhaps she said "no" because she's really more interested in some other guy at the moment. Most guys will try again at least once, after a bit of time.
Some women get annoyed when guys ask again after an initial "no". Perhaps more women may get unhappy if the norm shifts to "no means we're done, move on, and never, ever ask her again".
Then again, as I've said, I've been out of the dating scene for more years than I like admitting to.
I think we are both lucky to be out of the dating scene. Texting on a date is bad enough but the worst is the baseball hat worn during dinner!
Maybe it’s not the worst that could happen on a date but it’s pretty bad. My grandmother would banish anyone who didn’t know enough to remove their hat indoors.
If I considered "no means no forever", then things never would have happened. People change their minds about what they decide they're looking for.
I think Kobe was a better analogy - it appears that - rough unhygienic sex or not - she was happy to be Kobe's new GF - until she figured out she wasn't - then it was rape.
I used to have two standing rules for my daughters' boyfriends upon coming over to the house for dinner:
1) you may not call either my wife or me by our first names. We are Mrs. and Mr. _____.
2) If you do not remove your baseball cap before coming to the table, you are out of the game...and once out of the game your cannot return.
LOL. I agree. No means no at that time. Next week, next month might be a different story.
Tru dat. I had to make the peace between two people at work the other day - almost got ugly with this dude.
"No" might mean "Get away from me before I pepper spray you!".
"No" might mean "I'm not emotionally comfortable with the idea of saying yes just yet".
"No" might mean "I really need a couple more hours sleep right now, try me later".
The art of seduction involves being able to tell which flavor of "no" you're getting, and how to get her to the point of being more comfortable with saying yes. Some guys are better at it than others, while some are totally inept at it.
That’s exactly what I thought.
