Space veterans endorse Mitt Romney

Astronaut Gene Cernan, the last man to walk on the moon, Bob Crippen, the first space shuttle pilot, and former NASA administrator Mike Griffin are among the eight space leaders who endorsed Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney on Friday, Space.com reported.

The men signed an open letter that explained why Romney is the candidate they most trust to rebuild the U.S. space program.

"Restoring the U.S. space program to greatness will require the leadership, management skill, and commitment to American exceptionalism possessed by only one candidate in this race: Mitt Romney," the letter said, according to Space.com. "We support Mitt's candidacy and believe that his approach to space policy will produce results instead of empty promises."

It is my intention to follow my governor's lead (Rick Perry) and vote for Newt Gingrich in our primary.

I still would like a commitment from FReepers, for the sake of the Republican Party, the country, and beating Obama, that if Newt doesn't cross the finish line, all Conservatives vote for the last man standing. When I consider some of the people and groups endorsing Romney, Gingrich, and Santorum, I can't help but think we have good candidates. How can we question character of any of them when they've put so much on the line? We can't just quit if one candidate doesn't make it. Governor Perry didn't make it and I still think he was the most qualified. He put more on the line than anyone. However, I vowed to vote for the Republican we put up against Obama. Will you?

Here is a commitment for you. I won’t vote for Romney under any circumstances for any office at any time, ever.

If I were Miss Samantha I’d look at getting hitched quick to ditch THAT surname. IF this isn’t satire.

No, I’m not voting for Romney under any conditions. My level of disgust towards Romney is so high at this point, I’d rather pull the lever for Obama.

Realistically, I’ll be abstaining from voting altogether if Romney is the nominee.

Right - they all had their days of glory on our dime.

They have an obligation to encourage a new generation to Dream Big and Dream American.

Like Romney even knows who they are!!!!!

Romney is a dirty liar. I can’t vote for him even if he is the “last man standing”. He was the last man standing because he lied enough to drive out his opponents from the race. You are delusional about his merits.

In a speech in Cape Canaveral, Fla., on Friday, Romney said he doesn’t currently have a grand vision for the U.S. space program, the Washington Post reported. However, he said, if elected, he would bring together the nation’s top experts in government and the private sector to decide what its mission should be.

Or doesn't dare articulate it.

However, I vowed to vote for the Republican we put up against Obama. Will you? Only if someone's at the polling station to clean up the mess I make after vomiting all over the floor. Not sure if my stomach could handle such a vote...

John Glenn revealed himself to be a Leftist of the highest order.

I guess Cernan and Crippen are following that path.

And no, Willard will NEVER get my vote.
