“You are delusional about his merits”

I have no delusions. I wanted Governor Perry to be our candidate and he was crucified on this site repeatedly by some of the same names I see now. Very few gave him the respect he deserved. I will vote for Gingrich in the Texas primary and if he snags the nomination. If he doesn’t and neither does Santorum, Governor Romney is the last man standing. I have to vote. I don’t believe in “none of the above” votes. In 1998, Harry Reid won his senate seat by about 400 votes. I think there were over eleven thousand protest, ignorant “none of the above” votes which I think is a disgrace in our great country.

Happily. Preferred Cain or Perry but prefer Romney to Newt by a mile. Santorum’s a good man but not going to win the primary or the presidency.

However if it’s Newt, I’ll vote Newt as well.

If someone can’t see the difference between Romney and Obama, get glasses.

I also was a Perry supporter. And before that I was a Cain supporter. I recall plenty of Perry supporters treating Cain like s***. But that’s the past. This has been a vicious cycle. At this point, what we’re up against is either Romney, who is a pathological liar, or the last candidate who is able to draw up any excitement, which is Newt.

If you are so clueless that you are unaware of Romney’s character, that’s too bad for you. As for me, I won’t be voting for a RINO who has conducted one of the most vicious smear campaigns against a fellow Republican I’ve ever seen in my life.

They know that Mitt will bypass their empire and use the private businesses that have and are developing the mission for profit outside NASA.

I guess I take the “free” in “free republic” at face value. As in I’m free to post my thoughts.

I’d be wary of a Romney presidency but sick over a second Obama one and terrified of a Gingrich one.

Respect the fact that you support Gingrich as the ‘true conservative’. I don’t see one in the primary that can mount an effective campaign. I’ll take Romney and move onward trying to effect more conservative leaders in other branches and at other levels.

The only difference is that Obama has a heavier tan.

These astronauts are sure going toget a surprise when Romney spins them.

Okay, so I'll play your silly little game, but first I must tell you that I had lasik surgery a few years ago so glasses probably not much value at this point.

Legislatively speaking (based on actual appointments and legislation --- not political chatter), please tell me the how the two are different.

To get the ball rolling, let me tell you how they are the same:

* Numerous liberal judge appointments
* Mandatory healthcare with individual mandates
* Support of numerous liberal Democrat candidates
* Pro gay rights
* Pro abortion

That's just my warm-up list...

I’m sure - astronauts are probably a pretty dim group. Probably because they’re typically chosen from pilots who are probably well below the average.

I still would like a commitment from FReepers, for the sake of the Republican Party, the country, and beating Obama, that if Newt doesn't cross the finish line, all Conservatives vote for the last man standing.

Gladly. Mitt, however, is not a man. He's a depraved male human who has used political power to nourish manifest evil. For example, with a proclamation from the governor's office signed by him endorsing a middle school's Gay Pride Day, Romney condoned and congratulated jr. high school children in their embrace of open homosexuality. With his Massachuests health care plan, he made abortion $50-easy and fast -- *poof* goes life, a minor medical procedure payed for by taxpayers.

FRiend, Romney is every bit as depraved and spiritually bereft as Obama, hence if he wins the GOP nomination, my vote will go elsewhere. Personally, I'd like a commitment from FReepers for the sake of all that's righteous for God and Country, that they will reject such manifest evil regardless of its party affiliation, Democrat or Republican.

The only pilot I have ever read about being below average was John McCain, almost at the bottom of his class at the Naval Academy, and crashed several planes before he got to Viet nam.

The rest are usually the pick of the litter, maybe that space oxygen and being too close to the sun destroyed their brains.

* Numerous liberal judge appointments
- Same could be said of Reagan and Bush I. The legislature is a big component of this. With conservative majorities, Romney will appoint conservatives. Without it, he’ll likely appoint moderates. Obama’s goal is to appoint liberals. Not the contrast I’d like, but as stated before it’s the best that I think we’ll get.

* Mandatory healthcare with individual mandates
- Yes. Supported by Heritage and Newt also held the position. This was the ‘conservative’ compromise position as opposed to single payer, British style healthcare. The plus is that I think we’ve moved the country to the right on this. We need to take any excuse away and get large majorities in both houses to repeal ObamaCare.

* Support of numerous liberal Democrat candidates
- Not aware of Mitt’s past here other than Tsongas. Reagan also supported Democrats when he was a Democrat. People change. Do I trust Romney to stay as conservative as he’s running? Only in proportion to our congressional majorities. I don’t think his goal, as head of the party, will be to endorse and promote democrats. Obama’s goal will always be to elect liberals.

* Pro gay rights
- Not a worry to me, so I don’t track it. Land more on the Ron Paul position here.

* Pro abortion
- Romney’s discussed his position here several times. He’s stated pro-life. You may not believe his stated position. It would be quite like my inability to believe Gingrich is not still an ego-maniac serial adulterer. I cannot see Romney introducing or supporting any legislation that is pro-abortion. I can also not see Romney not changing back to the standard Republican executive positions on abortion and funding. I don’t count on him to advance the cause in any significant way. Obama will do all he can to push a pro-abortion position.

“If you are so clueless “

It’s your way or I’m clueless? If it’s not Newt or Santorum? What, you don’t vote?

PS: I’m willing to bet no Perry supporters treated you badly unless you were one of the vicious, attacking Cainiacs.

Absolutely not. I will not vote the scum which is Willard Mitt Romney.

A conservative? NO
Pro-life? NO
Proponent of state-mandated health care? YES
Despicable and duplicitous character assassination of his opponents in the 2008/2012 primaries? YES

Yeah - I was kidding. The whole “Top Guy”, “Right Stuff”, ... thing. I’m just surprised how quickly people on the site disparage smart and qualified people when they don’t agree with their opinions.

I’m starting to think that Reagan wouldn’t be Reagan enough on this site.
