Conservatives must have thought they died and went to heaven when the Roundtable segment of ABC’s This Week began Sunday.

There were syndicated columnist George Will and talk radio’s Laura Ingraham facing off on the state of the Republican presidential race

Will was trying to argue against “Angry Newt” and pretty much mocking him in Will’s typically condescending way. Laura came to Newt’s defense reminding Will that a lot of people owe their careers (Will included) to Bill Buckley, Ronald Reagan, and, yes, Newt Gingrich. So warts and all, Newt is the conservative to the “faux” conservatism of Romney.

I never liked Ingraham's condescension and attitude, and the nasal snob tones got on my nerves...but one day she was talking about a plane trip she took and she made truly despicable statements relating to the "smell of foreigners" on her flight and how she shuddered because a fat woman was seated next to her with "moss under her dewlaps" or some such language, and in my mind she just became so vile I'm repelled whenever I hear her voice coming out her schnoz...

What I have been noticing is how often the pundits on our side refer to how it “should be”. It’s like they’re clinging to the old ways of politics as usual, and Newt is throwing them off b/c he doesn’t follow the rules.

I was not aware until this week, just how really out of touch our own pundits seem to be, and how resistant to change they are.

They keep talking about how Newt isn’t doing what THEY THINK he should be doing, or what is expected by them, or by the Establishment—

They don’t seem to understand that a big part of the base is going to be attracted to someone who is a bit rogue.

My attention was focused on what Donna Brazile was doing, which was, sitting there and smiling. Very telling indeed. I commend Laura Ingraham for defending Newt, but I'm suspicious towards her now, and I used to like her a lot.

And we’re at the horrid stage with Newt Gingrich.... Be as horrid as want you want, Newt. Just mop up that Mass. guy.

Tried to like her but her personality kept getting in the way. Snide remarks and snobby attitude, the nasal voice becomes nails on a chalkboard :(
