Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich was joined by President Ronald Reagan's son Michael on Monday morning in Jacksonville, Florida. Michael Reagan is supporting Mr. Gingrich for the presidency and helping Mr. Gingrich fend off critics who say that the former speaker did not have a politically close relationship with his father.
"One of the reasons I was glad Michael agreed to come on is that theres been a question raised by the establishment as to whether or not I was really in any way active with Ronald Reagan," said Gingrich to a group of supporters in meeting room at the Jacksonville Hyatt Regency. "And I figured if his son was prepared to campaign with me, for any person with an open mind that should settle that issue once and for all."
Mr. Reagan explained to the audience why he endorsed Speaker Gingrich saying, "I think I owe it to him, because of what he has done for the Republican Party over the years," he said. "I remember way back in the 1980s during the Reagan revolution and I also remember there was a 1990s, when he delivered to us the first Republican majority in over 40 years no one else who has ran for office has done that."
Conservative movement activists, writers, and leaders, some of who had worked with President Reagan, have written scathing articles in various publications or appeared on television have denounced Mr. Gingrichs political favorability with President Reagan, including Pat Buchanan, Ann Coulter, and Elliott Abrams.
"It doesnt concern me, but yeah, it does. The way theyre attacking Newt Gingrich and cherry picking to be able to attack him, I worry if those people would have supported Ronald Reagan today," Michael Reagan told me...

Also heard that Todd Palin will be joining Newt on the trail!!
Go, Reagan!! Go, Palin!! Go, Newt!!
WOO HOO!!
I saw them mention that on The Five and Kimberly and Dana were laughing out loud at the idea. I should have changed the channel right then and there but wanted to hear just how much they were cheering for Romney. Not pretty.
Mitt can’t spin that!
EXCELLENT! Romney outspent Newt by over 10 MILLION in Fla alone. HE is not going to win the 1,245 delegates he needs to get the gop nomination easily if at all. Santorum should get OUT! and endorse Newt. Newt is doing well considering the slams and organization Mitt has in Fla. Win or lose I say..’DAMN THE TORPEDOES AND FULL SPEED AHEAD! THE FAT LADY AIN’T SANG YET!
Is this not the mating call of the spotted owl?
I’d like the people questioning Newt’s support of Reagan to come forward and tell the people how Romney supported Reagan’s ideas.
Sweet! Ron Reagan will probably be joining Mittens soon.
Thank you very much, Jim!
Yes! Todd Palin to join Newt Gingrich on the campaign trail!
GO PALINS!
GO TEA PARTY!
GO NEWT!
REBELLION IS ON!

“Also heard that Todd Palin will be joining Newt on the trail!!”
Wow! There is some great news.
GO NEWT GO......this is not just about picking a president, its about the very survival of our country!!
The RINO establishment is right! We will never be able to win the general election if we nominate a far-right conservative. All that far-rightism will turn off the independents and make them vote for the far-left Barack Obama instead. Therefore we must nominate a moderate Republican. As the RINO brigade has demonstrated, the choice is clear. The moderate Republican we are looking for to go up against Barack Obama is NEWT GINGRICH! A far-right conservative wacko like Mitt Romney would be absolutely destroyed by Obama in the general election. /sarc
Considering Guilfoyle was First Lady of San Francisco while married to Gavin Newsom, I wouldn’t expect her to be backing the conservative.
Watched Michael Reagan, Herman Cain & Newt/Callista at the 2:00 event in Tampa. Michael Reagan gave a pretty impassioned speech, you could tell it came from the heart. Herman Cain .... was the Herminator - he was terrific! Newt gave a wonderful speech and it was inspiring. After the speech, the cameras followed him through the crowd as he made his way out and you could hear the interaction between the various people in the crowd with Newt and Callista ...... it was “all good”. I’ve been e-mailing friends relatives in FL - one set of Aunts/Uncles voted early for Romney before we could get them back on the ‘right’ path .... the other set is amped up for Newt as is a friend and her son. The friend said the lies (Romney initiated) are flying so fast & furious that you can hardly step out the door without being hit in the head by one.
Romney not a threat? Right.
Romney and his supporters are now pushing RomneyCare as a conservative, free market, states rights solution to healthcare.
RomneyCare = ObamaCare in all respects. It is not free market, it is not conservatism and it is not states rights.
Just the opposite. RomneyCare is a top-down, government devised, government approved, government forced, socialist, intrusive, oppressive mandate against the free citizens of a state. Its no less socialist, no less intrusive, no less oppressive whether forced on the people at the state level or forced on the people at the federal level. Its the same damn thing!!
RomneyCare = ObamaCare = government force = oppression = socialism = taxpayer funded abortion = death panels = tyranny!!
We are the resistance!!
Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Shove Romney/RomneyCare down our throats now, we shove Romney up your Donkeys in November!!
Rebellion is ON!!
NO ROMNEY, NO WAY!!
Mitt happens!!
