Posted on 01/30/2012 5:15:21 PM PST by Jim Robinson
The 2012 Republican primary race has passed well beyond the rabbit hole into some extra-dimensional bizarro world where up is down, black is white and the allies of the candidate who disavowed Reaganism would have us believe that the leader of the second stage of the Reagan Revolution is somehow insufficiently Reaganesque.
Its no secret that the GOP establishment backs Mitt Romney. The same folks who gave us John McCain and Bob Dole have picked their winner. When Mr. Romney is down, their panic shows. They start floating desperate ideas like late-entry candidates or a brokered convention. They also pull out the long knives for Newt Gingrich. After the former speakers decisive victory in South Carolina, insiders launched an all-out assault upon him. Unmasked and panicked, the GOP establishment unleashed the tactics of the left upon the right.
GOP insiders first dredged up 2-decade-old debunked partisan ethics charges that damaged Mr. Gingrichs reputation until the Internal Revenue Service finally exonerated him. Mr. Romney couldnt resist seeking cheap points by joining the discredited Democrats who started the whole sordid mess. Mr. Romney featured, of all people, Nancy Pelosi with her innuendo of Mr. Gingrichs supposed wrongdoing, ironically blasting out an email slur just as Mrs. Pelosi was backing away from it. Then came something even worse: the salacious insinuation that Mr. Gingrich somehow betrayed former President Ronald Reagan.
The anti-Gingrich onslaught reached an apogee on the Drudge Report as Romney allies fed one negative story after another, amassing an impressive 10 pieces on the influential website at one point. A screaming headline claimed that Mr. Gingrich had repeatedly insulted Reagan. The unseemly issue of Mr. Gingrichs second marriage managed to resurface. To cap it off, Ann Coulter, the surprising new head cheerleader for the moderate movement, enjoyed seeing her latest anti-Gingrich...

Was listening to Erik Erikson awhile ago, man he’s a real piece of work.
And the establishment hated Reagan, too.
Right, Reagan would never win, never, ever.
Heard today that McCain called for cessation of debates....that we have heard enough.....nothing more to learn from the candidates. In otherwords, Romney is on top and the rest of us can pound sand. I have never seen this side of the republican party.....and especially from the man who lost to obama, and to the other candidate who lost to him. Why would we expect romney, who lost to McCain, to do even as well as McCain himself. Yet here we are...moving left...alway leftward.....never recalibrated to the right. Why a crying shame.
“amassing an impressive 10 pieces on the influential website at one point.”
Drudge’s anti-Newt screed got to 14 that day. The same day he temporarily removed (again) the link to FR.
they are just not understanding this
Treason in Government!
Admiralty on Land!!
One wonders what a Republican is supposed to be these days, and how they differ from Democrats. I say a pox on both their houses.
Children playing dangerous games on the beach.
Wow, this primary is getting schizophrenic...for every article I read lauding Newt, I see another (like the one in the same issue of the Washington Times by the editor Tyrell) that slings more mud Newt’s way.
Wow, the guy that wrote this piece is Obama’s typical white cousin.
Hard to believe a hated conservative is in the family.
The guy definitely nails the sentiment.
LORD, Open the eyes of your people that they may see the truth and vote for Gingrich.
Drudge is where I discovered FR.
2003 was a different world...
....Let’s hear from John McSlime’s fat toady daughter....a piece of work... Maybe she can explain the dependable voting history of John McNasty....
“I have never seen this side of the republican party”
1976 and 1980 when Ronaldus Magnus sought the nomination.
I wish I knew how he succeeded in 1980.
...He is a lot like Churchill. There are good moments and crappy moments....
...but I'll say this....better than the Morman dufus....
and more likely to get my vote.....
Sent a letter to Human Events from where I used to get Ann Coulter's columns. Told them if I ever received another column from her, I would cancel my subscription.
Cancelled the preset in the car radio for Michael Savage. Yeah, he's another one.
Someone who actually cares about this country more than your egos.
On top of everything else, we now are finding out who the real conservatives are and those that are phonies. The 'proof is in the pudding' like Grandma used to say. If the establishment succeeds in defeating Newt Gingich then let them be damned. They can then obey Hussein.
Rick Santorum is making a difference but, unfortunately it is the wrong difference. We will soon be learning if he is one of us or not. He needs to swallow defeat and join the Tea Party Patriots that are trying to restore this once great nation.
ROFLOL! Perfect! Thanks Jim, I really needed a good laugh. :)
Waving the Constitution at DC produces paroxysms among the RinoCracy...somewhat similar to what happens when waving a crucifix at the devil....
Gingrich Launches TalesofMitt.com
From todays Morning Score:
Newt 2012 has launched a new website to document all of Mitt Romneys flip flops and new stories trying to explain his liberal record. There are two new web videos up on the page: Which Mitt Is It? and Mitts Blind Trust Bluff. Gingrich spokesman RC Hammond goes on the attack in a forthcoming press release announcing the site:
Of course, the issue really isnt the correct understanding of blind trusts, despite Romneys convenient interpretations. Its whether voters can trust Mitt Romney. And as weve seen in 1994, 2002, 2008, and 2012, Mitt Romney will say anything and change any position just to get elected. Check out TalesofMitt.com: http://bit.ly/x4umCN.
FYI: Michelle Malkin endorses Rick Santorum
That’s beautiful! amen
I just e-mailed Drudge I’m done with them...can’t stand seeing them pin Newt the way they are....so I’m done there.
Not that it will matter but I feel better...enough is enough.
Piss on Romney
Yep..me too...got rid of Coulter’s books...Savages are next...Done with Drudge and Faux....I can only stand my legs being kicked so long!
Oh I’m liking that!
Santorum is more like Romney than he is like Gingrich.
Oh I like TalesofMitt!
Ode to the Grand Olde Party, and their BFF, the Obamanator.
When Newt or Paul rocks the Establishment Boat,
The GOP oarsmen pull knives from their boots.
The hacking and slashing puts extreme fighting to shame,
Never, no NEVER rock the Establishment Boat!
They cannot win elections, by choice of their suits,
A RINO Nominee is a Democrat, - - - - one and the same.
Two Party as One Party is what they adore.
Never give voters a choice, or politicians
Are out of life-time jobs forever more.
As we pay our bills,
And hold our noses
As we vote,
The Obamanator holds
His cold knife to our Country’s throat - - - - .
I was 100& done with Faux 2 years ago. I have never looked back.
I think Santorum is pitching for the #2 spot.
(Moderates I’d Like to Forget).
Hello houeto...I don’t think Santorum’s going to yield until NEwt’s people ask him to, and then I’m not so sure he will...he’s already moving forward...as Bella’s out of the danger zone now...he’s off to his campaign.
If and when he does yield hopefully it will be when it matters the greatest he does so..meanwhile Ron Paul continues to cover Romneys flank.
Just did. Thanks for the permission.
Maybe... point is, he’s unlikely to see the light and endorse Gingrich to save the country and his party from Romney.
I’ve been listening to CNN when I have to see what’s happening...not much difference now than Fox. And Beck’s TV is just too crazy for my taste.
The only way we’re going to survive the media now are boots on the ground. Call, talk and persuade.....and do it alot!
From the article...
“...but in truth, if you connect the dots between the ideals of the Reagan Revolution, Mr. Gingrichs Republican Revolution and the Tea Party movement, you get a straight line.”
That’s pretty much how I see it.
So you think he'll endorse FUMR?
Drudge just posted a most unflattering photo of Gingrich on the front page. This is all so incredibly underhanded and deliberate. Because they know so many women will vote for a candidate based solely upon appearances. That’s the way women are wired, no matter how much they protest to the contrary. It’s what gave America Obama. The female vote. Oooh they thought he was sooooooo cute. Like they think Romney is very presidential looking. It’s all they really care about. Women don’t vote issues or philosophy. They vote appearance.
Yup. Screw the Republican party. They have stood in opposition to that line at every point.
First order of business... Newt asks England to return the Bust of Churchill back to the White House as a gesture of solidarity to our long standing ally, England.
President Bush accepts a bust of Sir Winston Churchill from ambassador of England, Sir Christopher Meyer July 16, 2001. "He was a man of great courage. He knew what he believed. And he really kind of went after it in a way that seemed like a Texan to me," said the President explaining why he would like the likeness of an Englishman placed inside the Oval Offfice. "He charged ahead, and the world is better for it.".
I seen a big split in here caww, over whether he will break for Newt or Mitt. I know where my prayers lie. Other than that, I'm not so sure.
