Rick the Spoiler

Posted on 01/31/2012 4:20:32 AM PST by CanadianBloodAmericanHeart

Is there anyway to make Rick Santorum see that he is toast? He is ruining the chance to beat back the elites, as least for this cycle. Hey Rick, how concerned are you really about the judges Romney will nominate? How concerned are you about your kids and the debt load Washington is about to unload on them? Look buddy, you're done. It's been nice seeing you, and we give thanks for hammering Romney in the last debate, but if you don't drop out now, you will have the Ross Perot spoiler label forever cemented in history. Be a man.

If my daughter had a genetic condition such as Santorum’s daughter, I would spend as much of the rest of her expected short life with her as possible. Shame on him. He can run for president again later.

Polling this week in Florida shows if Santorum was not in the race his support would be divided evenly between Newt and Mitt.

Maybe its Newts criticism of Mittens as being too tough on illegals that his hurting Newts poll numbers.

I find it amazing the same issue that many used to lambast Perry is now so easily overlooked.

RE: He’s the last chance the GOP has of getting my vote in this election.

I’ll gladly trade your vote for Santorum not handing the nomination to Romney. Santorum needs to get out and endorse Newt.

Seems like lots of people are a bit tired of Rick's, it's all about me, game. We all know if the millions in attack ads were directed at him, he would be gone. Given the fact that he is a spoiler, it is time we flood Twitter and the blogs with info about the real Rick. I know I have seen stuff on FR, but I haven't been keeping track of it. Might be a good time to pull that info together on one thread so it is easily accessible. Our goal needs to be to keep Newt in the race all the way to the convention.

On a side note that may have been discussed last night, what do FReepers think Trump is going to do by way of an endorsement? I know some don't like Trump, but he is a talker that the media can't shut down. I have gotten the impression Trump does not like Mitt, so I don't see him endorsing Mitt. Do you think he will endorse Newt? will it help in terms of one more person getting the word out?

Have to run to take my kid to school so, I will catch you later.

FReepers have a great day and push for a Newt win here in Florida.

I haven’t forgotten. While Santorum is flawed, I don’t have to sell out every principle I hold to vote for him.

Personally I’m disgusted with the hypocrisy of those who were crying that only a couple of states are choosing our candidate are now demanding exactly that.

As far as I’m concerned, if a candidate is to be chosen after only a couple of states, the states should call off their primaries. They could save some money and force a harsh look at reality.

RE: The NewtBots around here are notoriously thin skinned.

Wow, if I’m a NewtBot I guess that means I have some pretty good company. Jim Rob must be the NewtBot-in-Chief!!

Go Newt!!!

Santorum needs to get out and endorse Newt, or he causes Romney to be nominated.

I think it is great to give voters a choice in the primary, which is what primaries are for.

"If my daughter had a genetic condition such as Santorum’s daughter, I would spend as much of the rest of her expected short life with her as possible."

Funny how so many who accuse Rick of being a big government, bedroom cop are perfectly comfortable declaring they know what's best for him and his family.

Mitt cannot win under any circumstances.

Newt has to show that he can win, if he cannot persuade Sanorum voters to come over, then maybe we need new candidates?

Yeah, you’re right - we need a candidate who believes the whole global warming hoax, and who has been a proponent of single payer health care for years. We need a candidate who will sit on the couch with rats and lend credibility to any stupid shit they say. (We “all need to get along”, you know!)

Santorum should think about the implications of Romneycare’s death panels on young children and rethink his spoiler campaign.

He can run for president again later.

I won't vote for him later, either.

Santorum clearly understands politics, the game, the math, the compromises, the moves. (For example, the Specter gambit.)

Therefore he knows that staying on until the money runs out is hurting the conservative cause by helping Mitt Romney. There is no way Santorum is doing this innocently, naively, blindly.

Something is more important to Rick Santorum than principle. Whether it's his own self-importance, enrichment, advancement, some quid pro quo with Romney -- it's more to him than the cause of conservatism.

Santorum is a sell-out. He was a sell-out before, and he will be a sell-out in the future.

(He’s the last chance the GOP has of getting my vote in this election. If your candidate doesn’t have what it takes to win, that’s his problem.)

I am very close to this......
Absolutely will not vote for Mitt (Obama Lite) Romney or Ron (Sometimes you feel Like a Nut) Paul.
I would much prefer Santorum over Gingrich.......

I’m sure he has. That’s why he didn’t find 300 or so pages in Obamacare that he thinks are worth keeping...

I agree. I really thinks this puts him is a bad light....politics ahead of family. His daughter’s ondition is rare and serious right now. Why he would even want to be away from her at this time is beyond my understanding.

Florida is an important swing State yet Santorum snubs the whole State by taking off early for Nevada.

His work is done in FL. According to polls, Romney is a cinch to win. Mission accomplished.

Nice try. He could not effectively campaign in FL because his young daughter was very ill. A little honesty and decency never hurts you know...........
