Santorum’s ‘Game of Survivor’
National Review Online ^ | January 31, 2012 | Robert Costa

Posted on 01/31/2012 7:05:30 AM PST by C19fan

If the polls are correct, Rick Santorum will not win tonight’s primary. But he tells National Review Online that he remains in the hunt for the nomination. “This is a game of survivor,” he says. “I’m under the strong belief that we are going to hang in there. You are going to see some more ebbs and flows in this campaign. We are going to get our opportunity.”

The conspiratorial side of me thinks Romney and his buddies are giving stuffed envelopes to Santorum’s campaign.

How much do you suppose Romney gave Rick for the thrashing he gave Willard during the last debate?

After this campaign, how will we think of Santorum, as the years come and go?

people will look at this election in years to come and see that Rick kept Romney in the FL election and thus onto the nomination.

Perry got my respect, he let his ego go and he thought of the conservatives and the country.
Rick S says he wants to get rid of obamacare but then stays in with his few supporters and helps Romney and obamacare

That’s what I think. Santorum is hoping to accumulate enough delegates to get a position in a new administration, whether it be a Gingrich or Romney one. And I would love for him to be there, a pro-life anchor who will push for legal protection for unborn babies.

Santorum is an establishment RINO. Karl Rove’s plan of making him succeed Bill Frist failed when Santorum lost his Senate seat. The facts that Santorum is not even on every state’s ballot and that his plan to stay on is relatively new make it clear that he is in it to split the anti-Romney vote. IOW, Rick Santorum is a fraud and a very dishonest person with no morals.

"We are going to get our opportunity"?????

That suggests to me,he has been paid off with the promise from the GOPe, that it will be HIS TURN NEXT TIME to run for president. There simply can not be another motive for him to coninue on, other that to split the vote and insure a Romney win. Nothing else makes sense at this point.

WE will remember this Rick. I will never vote for you as President, if it proves out that you remained in this race for SELF SERVING reasons.

as a SELF SERVING RINO. Will it be HIS TURN NEXT TIME to be president? Will we forget what he has done by splitting the vote this time?

Santorum is hoping to accumulate enough delegates to get a position in a new administration

As part of the KArl Rove group of Republicans, it is a given that he will be part of the new administration. It has nothing to do with delegates. Let us not pretend that he will join Romney due to negotiations. He is in this to help Romney and then join his administration.

The original intent of joining the race was to raise his profile so that he could be Romney's VP candidate.
