(CNSNews.com) – Republican presidential candidate and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has pledged multiple times that he would repeal and replace President Barack Obama’s signature health care reform law. However, his repeal proposals are light on specific details.

“If I were president, day one I will take action to repeal Obamacare. It's bad medicine. It's bad economy. I'll repeal it,” Romney said at the Jan. 26 GOP debate in Florida. “And I believe the people -- I believe the people of each state should be able to craft programs that they feel are best for their people.”

However, Romney’s plans for replacing Obamacare reveal few details.

"Former Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.), an adviser to the Romney campaign, in an interview on Jan. 22 said that if a Republican is elected to the presidency in November, ObamaCare will not be repealed, certainly not in its entirety.

“We’re not going to do repeal. You’re not going to repeal Obamacare,” said Coleman, who became a Romney adviser in September 2011. “It’s not a total repeal. … You will not repeal the act in its entirety, but you will see major changes, particularly if there is a Republican president. … You can’t whole-cloth throw it out. But you can substantially change what’s been done."

Should Romney win - and that is dubious in itself - those who supported him; had better be prepared for a 'fool me twice' impostor in our White House.

Please explain what difference how much per impact is a 'Federal mandate' for healthcare versus 'State' mandated.

Either the Great Manager has lost control of his campaign or Colman is sending a wink to centrists and liberals not to take Romney’s position on repealing too seriously.

This repeal promise ranks right up there with Clinton’s “Middle Class tax cut” promise for disengenuousness.

I heard Romney say he would give every state a waiver from Obamacare on his first day in office. He didn’t say how long the waiver would last though.

I’m sick of hearing Republicans say “repeal AND REPLACE.” Why should we replace this monstrosity? That’s the wrong-headed argument!

Government step off of private industry health care! Governmnent is ALREADY way too involved!

Romney’s new National Healthcare Task Force Czar, Pam Bondi, has already let the cat out of the bag regarding Romney’s plans for imposing RomneyCare-like federal government designed, state imposed, state run, federal and state regulated healthcare programs and they are promoting it as conservative free market “states rights” issues. Sorry but conservatism does not include government subsidies or government intrusion, free market does not include government design or government force, states rights do not trump individual rights!!

And I can guarantee you that ANY government designed, regulated or run healthcare program will include mandates, death panels, taxpayer funded abortion, socialist subsidies, and will dramatically run up healthcare costs. Witness RomneyCare in Massachusetts.

Reagan warned us that the socialists will impose socialism on America through socialized healthcare, and here it is. The GOP-e and their socialist/statist puppet, Mitt Romney, will be imposing big government socialist healthcare on America if we allow them to do so, and they’ll be doing it as a so-called Republican, free market, states rights solution!!

But Romney is a rich, successful capitalist businessman. Yeah and so are George Soros and Warren Buffet.

NOT ON MY WATCH!!

Rebellion is ON!!

We are the resistance!!

Thank you. Exactly correctly. If Romney is supposedly a great businessman, how come he doesn't get this?

The details are there.
Ask Pam Bondi.
She’s onboard to help force Romneycare upon all the states as per Romney asking her to.

Government step off of private industry health care! Governmnent is ALREADY way too involved!

When health insurance was introduced it was affordable and provided necessary coverage for unexpected, catastrophic medical expenses. Insurance moved into group coverage with employment plans and was a bargain - as was medical care.

States regulated sales of insurance products but did not mandate coverage, exclusions or premiums - only reserves and licensing.

Then the Federal Government got involved through Medicare, Medicaid, labor unions and special interests - forcing Insurance companies to adjust their actuarial calculations, increase premiums for expanding benefits and necessary reserves.

The Federal Government already controls medical practice, drug prescriptions, hospitals, coding, fees charged and follow-up care. The next confiscation of private property are insurance company reserves and claims filing/ processing assets. Expect to see all medical and insurance personnel become Federal employees.

It is both heartbreaking and infuriating to watch (almost helplessly) as our nation becomes a communist dictatorship.
