Missouri primary is meaningless with no delegates awarded.

I know, it's just like so many of these goofy primary and cauci states, they go through all the hoopla, and no committed delegates result from it.

Why bother, just tell the sheeple, your vote doesn't count, we are going to do what ever we choose...screw you {but please send us your money}.

Interesting. That takes the advantage away from Paul, I don't think that many of his caucus-crashers are Republicans. Obviously Newt is not on the ballot in the primary, but does that matter in the caucus?

C'mon man! If it was Newt rather than Rick, he would be polling even higher than this.

Exactly. And one word why: baggage.

Like we would know if Santorum has any? The man hasn't had anything more than shallow vetting, not by the MSM and not by his primary opponents.

Santorum is wet behind the ears and has worked to craft an image of "the better Christian." His halo shines brightly above his rosy cheeks. His Pollyanna-ish supporters are going to have their breath taken away if -- make that when -- bigger and more aggressive money starts to point out Santorum's voting record that has favored statism and intrusive government, and even more when someone discovers a skeleton or two in his closet that reveals him as no "better" a Christian than Newt.

Newt is battle-scarred, ugly, and deeply flawed -- and everybody knows it; we're walking in with our eyes wide open.

When it comes to baggage and vetting, Santorum is a sitting duck. Santorum supporters are being set up.

Santorum staying in benefits Romney, hurts Newt, and doesn’t get Santorum the nomination.

Don’t worry Willard will start smearing Rick just like he did Newt.

I don't know why anyone serious about the race would spend time campaigning for a straw poll?

That is like campaigning for a stupid online poll that will still get spammed by fringe nutballs.

This is a caucus. No delegates, right? The primary is latere.

Gingrich lost FL in every major demographic. Jewish voters,seniors, non-Cuban Hispanis, Cuban-Americans, Whites, and lost the female vote by 20 points. The baggage he carries is proving to be too heavy. His momentum will stall since the next few states are mainly Romney friendly (NV, MI, MA, PA, AZ) and money will dry. FL is a verse diverse and electorally must-win state for Republicans in the general. If Santorum picks up MO, maybe it is time to re-assess his potential as the true alternative Conservative to Gingrich.

The reason I call St.Rick a hypocrite, is becasue Santorum has pushed for legislation limiting medical malpractice, all the while his wife has been suing the Hell out of a chiropractor for permanenty damaging her back.

But ... but ... but, the Reverend James Dobson himself has deigned to pronounce Santorum the Better Christian in the race!

I'll say one thing: In the General, I'd vote for Santorum with a smile, but if Romney is the "R" in the General, my vote will go elsewhere -- write-in, independent, who knows. In a head-to-head between Romney and Obama, there is no "lesser" evil. Both are depraved, and a vote for either would be endorsing depravity.

I would MUCH rather have Newt than Santorum because Newt doesn't pretend to be morally superior to anyone. He knows and respects exactly Who he must answer to in that regard. And it ain't James Dobson.

I'm sure NONE of those here who are judgemental about Newt's personal life have no "baggage", and therefore would rather see Romney-the-RINO complete the Socialist Takeover of this Country, while they sit smugly saying "I voted for Santorum"; it's not my fault.

It's YOUR children and grandchildren that lose; NOT principle.

Newt will be on the ballot for the MO caucus!

Unfortunately, Santorum has cost Newt two States...

Newt's fundamental problem isn't Santorum, it's Romney -- or himself. If you take away the vote Santorum and Paul garnered, that leaves 80% of voters in FL -- so why couldn't Newt win the majority of those votes?

Somehow, after a great debate performance in South Carolina, and running a better campaign than he did in FL, Newt did just that -- even when Santorum took a bigger percentage than he did in FL.

Newt needs to win the majority of votes on his own, moreso by taking votes from Romney than wishing Santorum wasn't in the race.

You can't SERIOUSLY believe that an "altar boy image" can actually WIN Nationally, can you?

Newt's got personal baggage, but who that would defend individual responsibilty and freedom that can beat Obama doesn't?

At least Romney won’t attack Santorum for who he endorsed for president in 2008.

That was sarcasm, Santorum was a Romney man then also.

Santorum is from the mid-west, is telegenic, has appeal to blue-collar Democrats, Evangelicals, Catholics, and can win the crucial female vote. Can’t win? Heck, all he has to do is carry the Bush states.

It seems when Newt supporters are given a choice between Romney and Santorum, a few root for Santorum but many instinctually attack Santorum.

You have to understand the Gingrich Entitlement Society mentality: All conservative votes belong to Newt. Ergo if someone votes for Rick, those votes were stolen from Newt. Newt is entitled to those votes! Gingrich shouldn't have to go out and convince voters he's the better choice. Everyone else should just get out of his way, because he's entitled!

The following information on Newt compares his rhetoric to reality and should be a lesson for all of us to look behind the rhetoric and find the truth. I am NOT sending this information out at this time to pile on Newt or because I think Romney is necessarily a better candidate. I think that most of us agree that either one of the four candidates would be a great improvement over the current president. (I do think we have one true conservative left among the GOP candidates, and plan to send out some of his best quotes in the future.) I am sending this information out because someone who had the ability to put together a number of video quotes by Newt himself that sum up the concerns I have had about Newt for a number of years as I watched politics. NAFTA North American Free Trade Agreement.

Patrick Buchanaan says on video about NAFTA that it is about 1,000 pages long:, “A free trade agreement would take two paragraphs to write. The tariffs are gone, the quotas are gone. Newt Gingrich: I think it’s [NCLB} clearly a failure. I think it has led teachers to be forced into a bureaucratic system of teaching to the test. I find virtually no teacher who likes it. It is grossly disproportionate. You end up with first-generation immigrants who don’t speak very good English being tested against a national standard. And a perfectly good school looks bad even though it’s doing a great job because there’s no measurement that’s reasonable. The correct answer is to radically reduce the Department of Education, cut out all federal regulations, return the money and the power back home to the states. Serial Adultery

James Dobson Interview: I asked you if the rumors were true that you were in an affair with a woman who obviously wasn’t your wife at the same time that Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky were having their affair?

Newt: Well the fact is, the honest answer is yes.

News Reporter on video: “Gingrich now admits that while he was leading the impeachment he was having an extramarital affair of his own with a congressional aid who is now his 3rd wife.”

Chris Wallace in interview with Newt: There is something else that bothers people. You were leading the charge to push Bill Clinton from office for lying about having an affair but at the very same time you were leading that charge you were having an affair. Isn’t that hypocrisy?

Newt: Sure: The lack of moral authority.

My question: So in Newt’s own words, is he a Conservative or a Progressive?

My Comments:

Even though I have experienced real frustrations at times with the debates and possible Republican candidate, I think that through it all a great deal has been gained. Discovering the truth is always a good thing in my opinion, and personally I would like to see the debates continue for some time so more truth can be revealed. Citizens have gained a great deal of truth about politics and politicians through the debates, and hopefully the candidates are learning that they can no longer hide their real actions, words, and political decisions from the public. From the time of the first tea parties, I believe citizens have learned more about how politicians and government work at the national and state level than ever before in history.

I have no real problem with the candidates battling it out and with negative ads and bringing out the truths about their opponents; I much prefer that to political correctness and timidity. I do have real problems with dishonest ads and attacks and smear tactics. I don’t consider it a smear tactic, however, as long as the truth is being revealed. I think knowing truth is healthy and good for our nation even if it involves a little pain and disagreement for all of us. Besides, if the Republicans get this negative information out now, it will be old news when the Democrats use it. And there is nothing the Republicans have used that the Democrats wouldn’t have used anyway.

I do get frustrated when people, and especially conservatives, are so easily deceived by rhetoric and the media and allow that to supersede reality and past history. I think the most frustrating event of the debates for me has been when the conservatives allowed the media to frame (in my opinion) Herman Cain simply for accusations of adultery and then switch their support to a man based on his rhetoric in a couple of debates - a man who admitted open adultery in two marriages, one for a period of six years and who has been involved in all kinds of actions that are not at all consistent with the tea party principles - as evidenced by his own words captured on video.

I understand people love to hear someone express their own righteous anger the way Newt did, and Newt has shown brilliance in some of the debates - and I know many of us are sick of the establishment picking our candidate, i.e. Romney; but for the whole Republican party, acting in a herd like mentality, to switch to a candidate based on this rhetoric alone really concerns me. That way of making political decisions reminds me too much of how the nation has allowed Obama and the Democratic rhetoric to destroy our nation.
