Do you have bill numbers for those claims, so I can see what he was really voting on?

The guy has 16 years of votes, I’m sure romneybots can pick and choose components of bills that paint him as big government.

Buy the way, the guy who wrote that on Redstate.com, supports Santorum over Romney.

"I’m rather tired of all the people who don’t like Romney trying to claim Rick Santorum is not a big government conservative, or not a pro-life statist. I would support him before I would support Romney too, but I have no intention of giving up ideological and intellectual consistency in the name of beating Mitt Romney."

I’d be very surprised. With no delegates on the line, risking a backlash would be done.

If I were Mitt’s manager, I’d hardly campaign for the first round in MO. If Rick wins, Mitt can count on at least a month of Newt-Santorum backers fighting with each other.

"I guess we could all “dream on” with Gingrich after the FL thumpin'"

Yeah; $16 million Romney-the-RINO expenditures, and he got the benefit (again) of a split-Conservative vote between Gingrich/Santorum. He STILL cannot carry more than 40% of the Republican vote in ANY Primary, and is spending money to buy whatever he can from the duped populace that BELIEVES the smear ads.

He is the Establishment Chosen One, and they will spend whatever it takes to get that core of fools who would want Obama-lite as their (R) on the Ticket. Very well may wind up with 4 more years of The Messiah this way, and it will be too late to resurrect the U.S. Constitution in any way/shape/form, with the Courts fully-packed with Progressive Activist Judges, as we already had 2 slugs appointed to the USSC by The Messiah, and we can look forward to more Union-planted Czars and un-elected Overseers, too. We're being ruled by Executive Orders, with no Congressional action at all to stop it, nor is the advancement of The Agenda via Holder, for "his people" and the Illegals.

IF Romney-the-RINO is the Candidate on The Ticket, we've lost it all....

Agree 100% with all you said but FL proves across all demographics that Newt is simply not electable against Obama. Santorum becomes the only choice by default.

Why the road ahead is impossible for Gingrich. We need to stop pipe dreaming, remove the blinkers, and face reality.

Santorum is completely and absolutely UNELECTABLE in the general. He is a good guy with excellent principles (though I’m starting to get ticked at him for not getting out of Newt’s way, I’ll admit).

However, Rick will be Palin-ized just as soon as he becomes the nominee, and mark my words, it will be ten times worse than what she got. The MSM will paint him as a crazy loon Conservative religious nut, and no Independents at all will vote for him. He not only opposes abortion (which many Independents will get behind) but he is also on record as opposing birth control, which will strike most moderates as way over the top, if not actually insane. His homeschooling will be snickered about, and more fodder for gossip. Newsweek already did a horrible article about his wife being an abortion doctor’s squeeze (before she met Rick), so they’ll try to paint both of them as hypocrites. Santorum’s very name has been stolen and ridiculed by Dan Savage, and most libs can tell you all about what so-called “santorum” is.

If he somehow gets the nomination, then I hope I’m wrong about this. But I don’t think I am. It will be “I can see Russia frm my house!” all over again. And Obama will laugh his way back to Pennsylvania Avenue.

Rick should get out, while he can still help Newt.

Romney and Newt are unelectable. Did you see the female vote in Florida?

There's a reason the liberal press is pushing Romney and Newt and ignoring Santorum.

Unfortunately, Santorum has cost Newt two States, and is playing the role of Ross Perot for Romney...splitting the Conservative vote is giving Romney-the-RINO all the help he needs.

Which 2 states - the ones where Romney beat both of their totals combined? Or the one that Santorum won?

Santorum's vote splits between them when he's out according to a poll which asked people in a head to head matchup - Santorum defeats Romney by a wide margin, whereas Newt was statistically tied. The assumption that Santorum's vote all goes to Newt is simply not accurate.

I care not for his personal issues, althought they do show severe judgement impairment and serious character flaws. It's the last few years that give me pause and can't be "overlooked" or easily "dismissed". If I am required to "take a chance", I know where my vote is going on Super Tuesday, and I'll be in pretty good company...

You can make anybody look bad, if you nit pick enough. Erik Erickson has written hit piece, after hit piece on Santorum, and http://www.therightscoop.com/ has pointed out Erik’s errors from time to time.

And if Rick Santorum is so “bad,” how come he gets such good ratings from conservative groups?

“American Conservative Union — 88%
National Right to Life Committee — 100%
Americans for Tax Reform — 95%
National Tax Limitation Committee — 92%
U.S. Chamber of Commerce — 88%
League of Private Property Voters — 94%

Now remember, this is Santorum’s House ratings, in a DEMOCRAT district. How many Republicans in Democrat areas vote this conservative?”

http://www.redstate.com/wosg/2012/01/06/rick-santorum-yes-he-is-a-true-conservative/

Thankfully not everyone at Red State is biased.

“Rick has my vote in Michigan.”

Thank you, and maybe you’ll write a letter to the editor, or call a talk show in Michigan to help Rick.

"Like we would know if Santorum has any? The man hasn't had anything more than shallow vetting, not by the MSM and not by his primary opponents."

Schumer turned his worst smear machine against Santorum in '06. The homo and pro-death lobbies have been gunning for him for well over a decade. The best they could do is come up with some BS about his kids' attending a PA school district online and Google-bombing his last name.

Both of those parties would have done virtually anything to destroy Santorum if they could have.
