January 30-31, 2012 - Cambridge, MA. - As part of the IAP Course on COLD FUSION at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr. Mitchell Swartz, JET Energy, and Prof. Peter Hagelstein demonstrated cold fusion openly for scientists and engineers. The demonstration was a two day part of the detailed, yet overview, seven day course run by Prof. Hagelstein and Dr. Swartz, and followed the first open demonstrations of cold fusion at MIT in 2003. This JET Energy NANOR(TM) demonstrated a significant energy gain greater than 10, much larger than the previous open demonstration. This exhibition is also remarkable because it confirmed the role of the nanoengineered lattice in enabling the CF/LANR activity. It followed Prof. Hagelstein sharing his breakthrough explanatory theory of cold fusion during the first 5 days. The NANOR technology of JET Energy may have already begun to shatter a few preconceived notions of skeptics and cold fusioneers.
From what I have read the Israelis have the most consistently performing cold fusion reactors.
Aahh. The Flux Capacitor. I get it.
Where's my Dolorian?
Cool. That’s why I am not worried about using fossil fuels even if they cause global warming, which they don’t. We should be drilling like there is no tomorrow to keep energy prices low for a strong economy. I’m confident that someone will come up with something better and cheaper in the not too distant future like LENR or even hot fusion. We’ll need it to move out and start mining the moon and all those asteroids and comets.
Not to worry, the EPA will label it another 3 Mile Island before it gets to market.
Wow, Could this be for real?
I’m more concerned that they’ll obliterate any economic windfall by taxing the hell out of it. It’s a pick ‘em.
Actually, they’ll probably do both.
It certainly seems to look like it!
2012 - the year the world changes?
No wonder I can’t find it.
The Cold Fusion Ping List
Not to worry. I'm sure the skeptopaths will come up with some reasonable sounding hypothesis to claim, once again, that LANR "is just a scam", and that "there is no evidence" even if the demo wasn't done by "eccentric Italian (or Greek) guys".
I wonder why MIT hasn’t issued a press release, or why this “news” hasn’t been reported beyond the cold fusion mutual admiration society.
LANR or LENR?
maybe because they get more money from guys like this?
LANR (Lattice Assisted Nuclear Reactions) is, IMO, more accurate.
I'm open to evidence and it sounds like these guys are doing things the right way. If you are following this, please keep us posted.
If CF/LENR is a real possibility, then someone, somewhere will eventually find it and make it into the history books. I follow just to see who will finally get the credit, Fleischmann and Pons?..............
Yeah, but the flat-earthers are stubborn and won’t be accepting any and all evidences without an unreasonable argument.
Looks like only one of the usual suspects showed up on behalf of the skeptopathic outreach society.
The strange thing is, this is the kind of news that used to be called paradigm-shifting. After all, it was MIT that led the charge 22 years ago to scorn Pons & Fleischman. But this news is greeted with a ... yawn.
An important scientific innovation rarely makes its way by gradually winning over and converting its opponents; it rarely happens that Saul becomes Paul. What does happen is that it opponents gradually die out and that the growing generation is familiarized with the idea from the beginning.

A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it.”
