Don’t worry. If Romney gets the nomination, he’ll soon become persona non grata in this country. You see, Obama doesn’t have a good record to run on either, so he’ll be spending all of his $1 billion on negative personal ads.
That prick Romney is feeling pretty smug about the vicious sliming he put on Newt. But he’ll get his comeuppance at the hands of Obama and those nasty Dems, who *really* know how to slime someone.
The suspense of the election will be to see by just how much Romney loses to what should have been one of the GOP’s easiest presidential opponents since Jimmy Carter.
I also beg to disagree. This will hurt Newt. I’m not sure that Newt will even win another primary.
“Calling in this case concedes nothing. It simply respects a tradition that has been helpful in bringing together the party after the race is over.”
Nuts!!! I might expect this “lets all get along nonsense” from a lawyer. You remind me of the Navy lawyer that showed up in Australia at the end of WWII to tell my dad that he was going to be court marshaled for “tampering with Bureau of Ships Design” because to get a critical part for Halsey’s PT boats (which could not be shipped to the theater from the US) he made changes which allowed the part to be made locally. I’m done with “tradition” which translates into kissing the ass of someone you hate, which in Gingrich’ case totally justifiable. Romney is a smarmy, unprincipled bastard. I’m with Newt eff Romney!!! By the way my father had his MPs escort the lawyer back to the airfield and made sure he was on the next flight back to Washington. Military lawyers or Army Corps of Engineers, don’t know which is worse.
Just about all Romney does is try to bring Newt down. He doesn’t have anything to offer. Not enough to get my vote anyway. I’ll vote straight line democrat if he is the nominee.
In his speech after the SC primary, Romney sniped at Gingrich.
All I know is, when Romney conceded SC, “poor loser” was written all over him. He was angry, sour, and petulant.
I just heard on the Fox report that Newt has attorneys in Florida trying to get Florida election law applied to last nights election that will preclude the “Winner Take All” rule from applying.
Apparently, Florida law states that any contest that occurred before April 1st could not be winner take all, but delegates would be assigned according to the percentage of the vote the candidate carried. This would be great if Newt can get this law enforced.
My apologies if this has already been posted today.
I look at it this way.
You are boxing or in a road race what ever.
You see the guy who are are against cheat, in boxing he gets a low blow, in running he cuts the corner.
Would any of us still say well done, hell no we wouldn’t I know I wouldn’t
I disagree. To call and congratulate Mitt would have undermined Newt’s position that Mitt’s ads were not just negative but outright dishonest. It would sound like he condoned Mitt’s lies.
Newt didnt call after Iowa or New Hampshire, Gov. Romney revealed. I called him after South Carolina, his win there, but he didnt call last night. The other candidates all called. I dont know. I guess Speaker Gingrich doesnt have our phone number”
Or, maybe he just thinks you’re a piece of crap and not worth the time!
Whiner.
“Anderson?! Anderson?!”
A quick google search indicates that Romney called Santorum after the offical count in Iowa, and Romney called Gingrich after South Carolina. A similar google search indicates Gingrich didn’t not call Romney after New Hampshire or Florida.
Your search may reveal otherwise, but I didn’t see otherwise.
Well said! Newt had two choices..one was to call and lie; the other was to ignore Romney’s win which was bought and paid for to the tune of 33 dollars a vote and millions of dollars of free campaign “ads” by the msm, Faux News, the gop establishment and Drudge. Newt took the high road.
I would have said, “see your lies, smears and money won the state of Florida...you are a man without honor and I have no doubt you would see your soul to become president”
