Trump and Newt’s major backer, Sam Adelson, are both in the gaming industry. Possibly friends .

Also, in Newt’s speech on the “moon” program he proposed, he emphatically declared that he didn’t want the Chinese to dominate space in the coming decade.

We all know how Trump feels about competing with the Chinese....

Could be that Trump desires an ambassador’s post or even a cabinet position. When someone achieves as much as Trump has during his lifetime, he or she often wants to leave a more permanent legacy than just money.

You nailed it.

NOWHERE in the article does it say Trump is going to endorse Newt; all it says is that Mr. Trump will have an announcement to make at 12:30 pm regarding the Presidential race.

Trump being Trump, hell, he could very well be announcing his own third-party run for the Presidency, and to be perfectly honest, I wouldn’t put it past him.

We’ve been punked by Trump before.

Remember that the Celebrity Apprentice appears on NBC starting February 19th.

Trump is too smart to endorse someone at this stage, especially since he keeps his name out there as a possible 3rd party candidate. This is a PR leak designed to stir up some publicity for himself and his TV show.

If Trump goes public and formally endorses Newt tomorrow, I’d be stunned.

He should have run as a Republican then, instead of splitting off as a 3rd party spoiler.

The article states that “sources”” say Trump will endorse Newt. I hope he will but we all know how “reliable “ sources are.

I’m sincerely fighting back a deep-seated streak of cynicism, but frankly, if Mitt is the candidate, why should I give a @!$# if Trump jumps in or not?

The endorsements are strategically timed, IMO. I bet mama grizzly goes for a full on endorsement & stumping prior to super Tues

We need several Trumps to come forward and support a candidate who has more than just "working in the 'private sector,'" money, a verse or two of a patriotic song, and a few Reagan phrases to offer as qualifications for rescuing America from the brink of disaster.

If enough voters can be rounded up to beat Obama in the Fall, then they must first have a candidate who can articulate conservative principles in a manner that says to each citizen, "You have a Creator-endowed right to life, liberty, and the property you work for and earn as you freely pursue happiness. That's the most valuable thing your elected officials can protect for you. Remember, whatever they "take" from someone else to give to you, they can then "take" from you to give to their next target audience. Don't ever forget that. Go study your Declaration of Independence and Constitution and the writings and speeches of men who framed them. Those two documents are the tools by which you should measure us, and the limits to which you should hold us accountable to you."

If a nominee cannot help to educate and inform citizens as a means of contrasting Obama's ideology with the ideas of liberty on which our nation was founded, then he will not likely beat Obama.

Charles Krauthammer spoke again on the FoxReport tonight about Romney's inability to explain conservative ideas. He is correct, and that kind of weakness is not to be remedied by coaches or advisors.

There have been many business leaders over the past 3 or 4 decades who have become wealthy in the free enterprise system, have become aware of government intrusion and destruction of that system, and have spent millions of dollars and years of their lives working on behalf of preserving its principles.

Romney does not appear to be one of those. Benefitting from the system, without devoting time to helping conserve the principles underlying it, does not qualify one to be the leader of the Republic.

Maybe The Donald has something useful to contribute to this process after all."

He does. Lots and lots of money, something Newt's campaign needs very badly right now to survive the Mittwits' attacks all the way to the convention.
