CNN) - Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann denied reports that she was negotiating an endorsement of GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Bachmann, who suspended her presidential campaign last month, said on Wednesday that she is not ready to back a candidate.

"I know there was a lot of speculation earlier today. Governor Romney had gone to Minnesota. People were putting out rumors that I was going to be endorsing. I am not," she said. "I'm not in negotiations to do an endorsement, so I want to make that absolutely clear. I have absolutely no plans to do that."

I don't know about Michele Bachmann endorsing Mitt but she certainly was praising Newt in this 2008 townhall introduction

I would be a great ad.

I think the Romney camp floated her endorsement out there, trying to force her hand. This is the kind of crap they do.

Good for her for coming out with a statement that says otherwise.

I would guess it was started by the Romney camp thru Glenn Beck ...at least that's where I heard people referring to having heard the rumor. Whether Beck or his radio “sidekicks” were complicit, I have no idea as I don't listen to Beck ...he lost credibility w/me long ago w/some of his “revisionist” historical analyses.

Well, at the present time she is weighing what is left of her integrity against the Big Fat Check that mittens is waving at her.

I think the Romney camp floated her endorsement out there, trying to force her hand. This is the kind of crap they do. They did the same to Jeb Bush, and he had to also let it be known that he wasn’t going to be endorsing before the Florida primary.

Good for her for coming out with a statement that says otherwise.

Hopefully not, otherwise she is done.

FOX news was hyping that rumor all morning yesterday. They were almost saying she would be endorsing Romney.

They kept saying that, and then they had Michele on and she told them flat out NO.

Martha McCallum was practically browbeating her to make an endorsement.

I think FOX was behind that.

If she endorses him- it will be the one of the most in your face admissions of an act I’ve experienced in my lifetime. I’m only 30 , but Bachman managed to make me believe she was a real dedicated conservative.

Of course, we know that anyone who supports Mittens cannot be anything even close to conservative so it would basically be her admitting she was simply using us all to get famous and skip some ladder rungs in the GOP-e.

I hope she doesn’t do this or the little faith I have left in authenticity at any level will gone.

Did you read it? She was on FOX and said she is not endorsing. She said she is with the Tea Party.

In otherwards, it was a false rumor.

I personally find it very interesting that all these supposed “Romney Employees” keep coming out and endorsing Gingrich and nobody around here wants to acknowledge their hypocrisy.

I'd heard that they do that. Jeb Bush had to make a correction when Romney floated that idea while Jeb was in China and couldn't respond quickly enough to tamp down the immediate speculation it caused.

It well could be that she’s been made to understand by the GOP establishment, either endorse Mitt or don’t endorse anyone.....if she knows what’s good for her.

Well, there is no shortage of hypocrisy lately. It has become the norm. LOL

People should know anymore that the media creates many of these rumors because they know how people will react.

we never fail them

-- I hope she doesn't do this or the little faith I have left in authenticity at any level will gone. --

At some point in time, to some degree, you will eventually be disappointed by every politician or person who takes a politically-connected position.

It is unusual for a politician to remain consistent over the long term; and some of them genuinely change based on new information and/or revised rationale.

What you really need to beware of is forming an important opinion or conclusion based on news reports. News reports are usually incorrect or radically misleading. Those who base a world-view on media reports are destined to be jerked around.

I wonder how many FREEPERS were bashing her yesterday when the rumor was floating around. I bet it was ugly. It amazes me that FREEPERS are so quick to attack great conservatives like Bachmann and Santorum.

You may be correct ...or maybe both are sources. (The snake has many heads.) FOX is certainly "Romney Central" in this election.

I don’t think there is much doubt left that FOX is supporting Romney.

I believe they know that Romney is not getting the conservative vote. So...they would like nothing better than getting a known conservative to endorse Romney in order to whip up some conservative credo for Romney.

When I got up yesterday and turned on FOX, they had me convinced that Bachmann would endorse Romney. They said that Mutt was heading to Minnesota to maybe get Bachmann for an endorsement.

Later FOX had Michele on and she kind of looked agitated and flat out said that she wasn’t in Minnesota, that she was in DC, doing her job, has not met with any Romney people and she is not making an endorsement.

Martha was upset and trying so hard to try and wheedle her.

FOX is back at it this morning with the Trump endorsement. LOL

If Bachmann wants to totally destroy any conservative credentials she ever had, then she will endorse admitted liberal, Mitt Romney.

It will also be evidence that she really was reaming every conservative in the race in order to benefit Mitt, the man she never attacked.

Even now she doesn’t attack him.

How, can this man who approved of 50 dollar abortions be endorsed by a woman who vehemently proclaimed her pro-life credentials?

The only answer is that she was engaged in pure deception. It is the only answer.

I didn’t bash her, but I did say what an endorsement of Romney from Michele would say about her. My opinion hasn’t changed.

If this is the case, she better think long and hard about endorsements endangering her future aspirations.

Santorum is paying the price for endorsing Arlen Sphincter.

Fred Barnes practically had a melt-down last night on Special Edition when Krauthammer said Mitt really messed up. You could almost smell the panic.

I hope, in the next months, that people will take a deep breath, hold all rumors that spawn out of the media at arms length until the story is proved true or false. Instead, everyone goes off on anger and hate tangents based on unfounded rumor.

The media is nauseating in the way they manipulate people. By now, we should all know they have their own motives.

I believe Beck supports Romney and his “show” of “support” for Santorum is only to hurt Newt who has the best chance of beating both Romney and obama. I have relatives who are Mormon and have nothing but respect for them , the way they conduct their lives and take care of their families. They do stick together and help each other. With GB I think this is the case and also that he’s nuts.

I think gingrich could do himself a lot of good if he picked Bachman as his running mate

I think Santorum has caused him too much trouble- he would have been a great VP choice for him too

It would certainly get some female vote for hime (women are so silly -ouch OK OKOK OK I was just kidding)

For the record, I am not anti-Mormon. Of those I have known personally, most seemed decent, honorable people w/good families and many were serving their country in the military. It truly bothers me when someone generalize about other people's religions (unless there is widely proven evidence that a religious group attempts to use force to impose it's views upon others.) Freedom of religion and of religious expression are very serious issues for me.

I am “anti Romney” ...but that's because I believe he is an avaricious liar who has no core values.

We are in agreement w/regard to Glenn Beck and his Santorum “support.”
