Rush Limbaugh is right in that a strong conservative message will win the election. He is wrong in his implication that Gingrich is necessarily the better man to deliver it. As much as I admire Newt, one exit poll statistic out of Florida will shape the rest of the primaries, and the general election as well. It is this: Romney led Gingrich among female voters nearly two to one, 51 to 28. Minds can still be changed, but human nature is a little tougher.

Romney will not deliver a conservative message because he is not conservative.
Interesting insight...
He led Gingrich among Northern transplant women. In other words liberal women went for Willard the liberal. He lost the real conservative women in the Panhandle and northern Florida. Only consistent voters that like Willard are liberals. In SC women went for Gingrich. A real conservative woman can see right through his BS. SC proved it and the rest of the South will prove it. Willard the rich liberal Morman has won his only state south of the Mason Dixon. The rest will go for Newt Gingrich.
This whole idea of going after certain groups and worrying about certain groups is so stupid. And manipulative.
So what if women in Florida went for Romney. They went for Gingrich in South Carolina.
If nationally, women would rather vote for Obama than vote for Gingrich, good riddance to them. They’ll be thinking only of their own stupid notions rather than the liberty of their children. And the same goes for every other sub-group.
On a related note (but one that does not support the pro-Mitt RINO agenda), Newt won SC by 42% to 26% over Romney among men and 38% to 29% among women, not a huge gender gap for the message he stayed on in SC. Some might conclude that the issue in Florida was Newt's message and delivery, not that women will not vote for him. That's not what the GOP leadership will tell us to believe, but it is what the facts indicate.
Well, that is certainly the best argument to nominate a moderate.

This, while being true, is not the only rule. Being born and raised in New England in a conservative household I can tell you that I have never seen a New England republican not be a RINO. They all are, they believe they have to be to win the independent vote. Scott Brown is a great example. The Governor of RI Lincoln Chafee is another RINO.
A RINO almost never has a core conservative principle. Period.
As usual, Mittens will take the popular side of any argument, but will still act like Obama anyway.
It’s time to get over Romney. Just play his speeches opposing himself over and over.
The Founders' Constitution's strict limits on coercive power by elected representatives are being ignored and disavowed; the free enterprise system which allowed individual citizens to achieve and excel in their chosen pursuits is being co-opted by elected and unelected bureaucrats; and the rights of conscience, speech, and religion are being trampled as we post here--yet, the persons who could influence minds and hearts are quibbling about who got the most votes of women.
When, in 1776, our ancestors felt the heavy hand of the British government "taking" their earnings, regulating their lives, interfering with their beliefs, and asserting coercive control over their actions, they did not waste their time on such trivia.
They wrote great treatises such as "Thoughts on Government" and "Common Sense." They educated their young on the merits of liberty, as opposed to slavery to government, and they did the groundwork which allowed for a written Constitution for self-government to be ratified in the states only eleven years later.
America is about to be bankrupt, both financially and philosophically, and those who have benefited from the Founders' ideas, who call themselves "conservators" (conservatives) of those ideas, should come together to place those ideas before millions of young people who must participate in voting in November on whether they desire liberty or slavery. Women, youth, men, so-called "seniors"--all need to have the choice presented clearly that this election pits the ideas of Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, and America's other Founders against the ideas of Marx, Lenin, and Keynes.
There are always "useful idiots." That's what every oppressive regime has relied upon. A "useful idiot" with a big megaphone is more dangerous to liberty than millions of ordinary ones, because of the ability to lull more people into a sense of complacency.
America, awaken! This decades-long battle for your liberty has been engaged. But, for decades, you have allowed the ideas of your liberty to be censored from your nation's textbooks and public discourse.
Your best weapon is contained in your Declaration of Independence and the Constitution which leaves all the power in your hands. Read them, amplify upon their principles and ideas by accessing the Founders' writings and speeches.
For a quick review of those principles and your nation's first 50 years under its Constitution, consult John Quincy Adams' "Jubilee" Address here, or a recent reprint of a 1987 Bicentennial collection of the Founders' principles, here.
James Madison stated: "Although all men are born free, slavery has been the general lot of the human race. Ignorant—they have been cheated; asleep—they have been surprised; divided—the yoke has been forced upon them. But what is the lesson? ... the people ought to be enlightened, to be awakened, to be united, that after establishing a government, they should watch over it ... It is universally admitted that a well-instructed people alone can be permanently free."
My “take” is that the disaffection of younger females for both Newt and Santorum was due to their Pro-Life/Anti-Abortion views. Note that in the FL primary the MAJORITY of CATHOLICS voted for ROMNEY ...the candidate w/the weakest Pro-Life position. Florida is a state where 51% of REPUBLICANS SELF-IDENTIFY as MODERATES!!!
It is my belief that Moderates (and many Conservatives) will not vote for someone whose position is that rape and incest do not constitute legitimate reasons for a woman having an abortion. Unless I misunderstand Newt's and Rick's positions (in line w/those of the Catholic Church) that will be a real problem for either Rick or Newt in the general election. FOX News just quoted a statistic that over 70% of Catholic women do not support the Church's position on birth control or abortion. I don't know how much of that percentage involves the abortion issue; but, it sure is a huge flashing warning sign. It is what it is.
Disclaimer: I am not anti-Catholic; my paternal grandfather was Catholic and my father, in his second career, was Personnel Administrator for St Vincent DePaul Hospital in Norfolk, VA. The Sisters of Charity are held in highest regard by my family; many paid their respects at my Dad's funeral; even though he had retired from the Hospital well over a decade before.

There is an interesting article in the WSJ, this morning, about the fact that neither Romney, nor Gingrich seem to understand how to connect with the voters, but Santorum gets it.
Romney immediately identified the demographic that he thought he could win with and set about demeaning them and excluding them from the elite workings of the party. Right now, Romney and his supporters are using the Mormon card, the same way that Obama uses the Black card, the race card. Time after time, I’ve heard it said that Romney only lost South Carolina (and N. Florida) because there are a lot of evangelicals down there who don’t like Mormons. I knew it was going to happen and I warned people on FreeRepublic that they would use the religion issue to discount their opinion when the time came.
Gingrich just can’t help himself, he’s smarter than the average person and he has a hard time getting down to the level of the average voter. That’s part of the reason that Obama is so good at it, he’s just not that smart.
