President Barack Obama, in a bid to reconcile with the Teheran regime, has blocked legislation that would hold Iran accountable for the Hizbullah bombing that killed 241 U.S. Marines in 1983.

Things that were once unthinkable are now not the least bit surprising.
Every one of the widows, orphaned children, grieving parents, grieving siblings of the 241 servicemen killed should contact their congressman and DEMAND that IMPEACHMENT proceedings start against Baraq Hussein mohammed 0bama on the grounds of TREASON!
Heady times for enemies of the United States.
“I have never been more ashamed of a president.”
I second that sentiment.
Gee whiz what did you expect. Obama will side with his Muslim brothers every chance he gets.
Your odds of getting him removed by legal means are zero.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
I have never been more ashamed of a president.
I have never been more disgusted of a president (including Carter). A real low for America.
Hey, I heard on the radio this AM that LSU has signed a 6’3” 260 lb. quarter back!!! That’s something that will be worth seeing:)
This will never see the light of day in the MSM.
We need to get our priorities straight. We should forget the enemy in Iran. Our real danger is now the enemy in the highest offices in Washington DC...
Ashamed is not the word I would use, since I did everything I could to avoid this terrible national tragedy. I am shocked by the voters who gave no thought at all to choosing a qualified candidate and especially one who loved and understood America. Even more revolting is that many voters look at the catastrophe in DC and dream of four more years of this. Ashamed? No. Disgusted? Yes.

MEGA DITTO’S!
I'm a realist, and I know that, but I also believe in miracles and I also think that sooner or later the American people will wake up to this nightmare.
And yet we still have FReepers who say they won't vote in November, depending on the candidate. Every vote possible must be cast against Obama.
“I have never been more ashamed of a president.”
I share your feeling. I got into a argument on the Big Hollywood site with some Paulbots about this very subject. They were blaming America for the deaths of those military persons and said it was proof that Paul was right in his approach to foreign policy.
So I guess not only Obama but Paul sides with the enemies of America.
Polite words fail me. I will wait to make sure that this is confirmed; however, if true this is unconscionable.
While I take pride in voting against both creeps, I still regret that most Americans would not listen to me about those men. Not when I was a teenager with...Jimmuh and not now :(
I HAVE A DREAM... I HAVE A DREAM OF AN AMERICA WHERE ONE DAY WE CAN CHARGE THIS LOW LIFE, KENYAN FAGOT, USURPING SUMBICH FOR TREASON!
LLS
I am hit with a blast of cynicism as I reflect upon one of the Democrats favorite talking points in matters such as this: “ It’s old news”. So in the perspective of a Democrat 241 U.S. as “old news” means it isn’t a substantive issue anymore, therefore they can treat it with little to no respect.
There is nothing more insensitive, nothing more criminal than a Democrat, nothing.
It seems like every day, there’s a new low with this ba$tard.
Dear God, PLEASE help Americans shed the scales from their eyes and see that man for what he is.
Dang! I edited out a key word “Military” in my previous post, so here’s the way it should read. Sorry ‘bout that.

I will stand with them [the Muslims] should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.
Hello libertyhoundusnr,
“Gee whiz what did you expect. Obama will side with his Muslim brothers every chance he gets.

That is what he said he would do. (side with the muzzies) Guess he is really a man of his word, eh?

My loathing of the illegitimate bisexual Marxist Kenyan Muslim Usurper knows no earthly bounds.
“I have never been more ashamed of a president.”
Reagan was President at the time. What did he do about the attack? Who was it that set the rules of engagement that wouldn’t even allow spotters and snipers on the roof of the barracks?
With the state of American education?
I´m not as optimistic as you are.
“I have never been more ashamed of a president.”
Mega Dittos, Wow.
Ronald REagan, 231083: “I think we should all recognize that these deeds make so evident the bestial nature of those who would assume power if they could have their way and drive us out of that area that we must be more determined than ever that they cannot take over that vital and strategic area of the Earth or, for that matter, any other part of the Earth.”
We pulled out 3 months later.
Marine Col. Tim Geraghty commanded U.S. forces in Lebanon at the time. He said: It was selected almost entirely for diplomatic and political reasons, Geraghty said. I was uneasy from Day One that we were in that position.
Geraghty felt the growing danger in the weeks before the barracks bombing. Artillery shells fell on his compound. Snipers took potshots at his men. But Geraghty’s Pentagon superiors spiked his requests for stronger defenses.
Every day it’s something with this guy. Few days ago there was the document dump ant put the AG in hotter water, the weekend has all Christians po’ed because they are mandated to perform abortions and now he’s truly pissing on the graves of 241 honorable men....GRRRRRR
He promised from day one that he would side with his muzzy brothers. That brown on his nose is all the way down to his toes.
Sad bump.
It might not make the main stream media but.....I am posting this on facebook, and if everyone does the same it will surely be heard!!

Article, then # 3 , # 4.

Link doesn’t work.
Maybe he should bend over and kiss his ring.
Unbelievable how much more hellish this nightmare becomes.

After the barracks bombing President Reagan met with the NSC and ordered the Pentagon to plan an attack on the terrorists in the Bekaa Valley. The main target was the terrorists' "barracks" in which there was a group of Iranian Revolutionary guards. These Iranians were there to train palestinian terrorists. Iran also provided funding.
A US carrier was waiting off of Lebanon in preparation for the strike- and the strike was to occur as early as a day after the barracks bombing. Pentagon advisors [guess who?], with the recent experience of getting burned in Vietnam still rattling around in their heads, were extrememly cautious. The CIA had recently lost its station chief and other personnel in Lebanon in the embassy bombing and was effectively blinded; this heightened the reluctance to act. Sec Def Weinberger decided to call it off. It probably isn't much of a surprise but Weinberger's top military aide at that time was none other than Lt Gen. Colin Powell. Sec of State Schulz, knowing diplomacy was going nowhere, counseled swift retaliation, while Weinberger and Powell balked, wanting to avoid another Vietnam, and the CIA, which was needed to help clarify and define the mission with intel, had been devestated by the Church Committee in the mid 70s and gutted of its active operatives at the end of the 70s. The administration was paralyzed with military self-doubt and blinded with lack of intel in the face of the terrorists and the new regime in Iran.
The only thing we did beyond the aborted attack was to shell the hills around Beirut using a battleship, but as we did so we packed our bags and left.
There was an attack on Hezbollah "spritual" leader Sheikh Fadlallah via a car bombing that failed because the guy came out of the mosque too late and missed the big event. Some blamed it on the CIA -because it was a flop- and the CIA was famous for failure. If it was CIA then it was an attempt to get the perps.
Then there was the TWA hijacking with its numerous US citizens aboard and the Navy personnel in addition to citizens of oter countries. Navy man Stetham was murdered and the hijackers demanded the release of Shiite prisoners being held by Israel. US paralysis only worsened for fear of having these passengers murdered. Israel released the Shiite prisoners. Iran certainly wasn't inhibited by any fear of failure.
And the US pullout from Lebanon, after "getting our nose rubbed in it," ended up further emboldening terrorists to target the US. Ultimately it was cited by Osama bin Laden, along with Clinton's retreat from Somalia, Carter's retreat from Iran, and other premature retreats, as proof that the US was a paper tiger. That and the short American attention span was a way to recruit more followers for the global jihad before 9/11. Reagan made an attmpt to restore Us confidence by acting forcefully against Qadaffi after the Disco bombing in Germany and for a bit it worked. But in the face of dealing with the more complex problem of Iran, no American administration seems able to face the task of shutting down Iran even though it has been known from day one that Iran is the heart and soul of terrorism.
We spent the next two admins, both Bush's and Clinton's, trying and failing to deal with terrorism as if it is a matter of law enforcement, as if it is not state-sponsored. We've even heard some suggest the situation as "normal" and the murder and blackmail is at acceptable levels rather than contemplate dealing with it.
And as we can see by Obama's foreign policy today and relative lack of debate on it, that Osama bin Laden and Iran were entirely correct in their assessment of American character. It's no wonder Iran is now comfortable expanding operations into our own hemisphere, setting bombs off in Argentina and running operatives over our border. It can afford to lose operatives indefinitely when it can still achieve its goals without its leadership suffering for their decisions. And the leadership will not suffer because they understand American politics and weaknesses better than most Americans do.
Good follow on.
It’s important to understand that the US doesn’t start and stop every 4 years with a new president. Pentagon and State Department policy is always ongoing like a train rolling with huge momentum.
A new president can switch that train from track to parallel track but the train keeps going in basically the same direction, just losing and gaining cars depending on the political winds.
Senseless actions like having Marines occupy the old PLO hq surrounded by high ground filled with the enemy for political purpose borders on the criminal. Especially considering that our embassy was car bombed a few months earlier.
Marines will never forget their single biggest loss of life since WW2 because of the largest non-nuclear explosion ever known.
Every Marine I know is aware of the Beirut bombing and there is a universal distrust of politicians and the politician-driven general staff to this day.
Jihadists need to understand that Marines have far lower capture rates than the Army as a direct personal, no-quarter understanding of warfare with them. Beirut is avenged every day and will be until the jihadists quit fighting.
