Climate data chills global-warming alarmism
The Orange County Register ^ | 2-2-2012 | Orange County Register editorial boarad

Posted on 02/02/2012 11:54:02 AM PST by landsbaum

The Earth's temperature hasn't increased significantly in about 15 years, which wouldn't be big news except global warming extremists had predicted temperatures would soar during that time because of manmade greenhouse-gas emissions.

That forecast would be just another failed hypothesis, except governments around the world used the threatened overheating as an excuse to regulate, tax and subsidize in order to curb greenhouse gases and, of course, to save the Earth. . . .

Whatever, but I would like to thank La Nina for giving the northeast a rather snowless winter, so far.

We had nearly 60 degrees in southern Michigan the other day and the temps have been in the 40s and 50s for a week.

If this is global warming, they better hide it from us northerners or we’ll be looking for carbon dioxide generators to make every winter like this one.

Well all hail the “editorial boarad”.

Have you any comments?

Whoops, no.. you don’t. Average about two per year.

Quite a contrast to the number of self-authored “articles” you post.

What’s frustrating to me is that people argue with these fools in their folly instead of calling them on their folly.

The anthropogenic global warming agenda is the implementation of socialism and global government.
There is really no concern whatsoever for the “erf”, they’re just using the environment and climate change to further a communist agenda,

and they need to have their noses rubbed in it instead of arguing with them on the minutiae of a degree or two here and there.

For much of the world there’s just no major downside in it for us even if it were true. Unfortunately, one seriously warm winter doesn’t prove their case but it sure makes a lot of happy yankees.

The ground isn’t even frozen here in southern michigan and I have broccoli plants out there that are still fine and ready to start growing again with an increase in sunlight.

Exactly....even if global warming was true, even if it was man-made...so what? Seems to me the end result would be more arable land to grow crops on.

While everyone is enjoying their sunny and warm winter down there, it’s been the coldest January on record in Alaska. My diesel fuel turned to jello - literally - on Saturday and Sunday when the weather service measured temps of -62 and -65 in our little town. When the temps came up to -31 yesterday you could have sworn it was warmer.

Please put more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Thank you.

Well, they did say 'extreme weather.' This has been extremely pleasant. And did anyone notice about the snowy arctic owls? They are heading south! Guess wildlife isn't as stupid as the green weenies think it is.

Historically, from pre-Roman times to the height of Rome to the Renaissance to the twentieth century, human civilization has flourished and advanced during periods of climatic warming.

We have a lot more to fear if the latest cooling trends come to pass.

Reduced growing seasons, etc.

the number of self-authored “articles” you post.

landsbaum may indeed be the author of the many Orange County Register items he posts - but it's a legitimate newspaper, so I'm not sure I see the problem.

I'm not sure I see the problem.

If someone put up a billboard advertising their product on land they did not own, would that be fine with you?

Homey is USING Free Republic as a marketing tool.

He (multiple log-ins, by the way) does not participate in the forum.

We're just a hit farm to him. You still don't see the problem?

I see your point. But since the text is not owned by him, and the Register requires excerpting (I just tested), at least one of the objections to blog-pimping doesn't apply.
