If only the Democrats had decided to socialize the food industry or housing, Romneycare would probably still be viewed as a massive triumph for conservative free-market principles -- as it was at the time.
It's not as if we had a beautifully functioning free market in health care until Gov. Mitt Romney came along and wrecked it by requiring that Massachusetts residents purchase their own health insurance. In 2007, when Romneycare became law, the federal government alone was already picking up the tab for 45.4 percent of all health care expenditures in the country.
Until Obamacare, mandatory private health insurance was considered the free-market alternative to the Democrats' piecemeal socialization of the entire medical industry.....

Theoretically you are absolutely correct.
In real world it is just a dream and naivete.
We got to deal with the reality of world.
Yes, if I drive, I MUST HAVE LIABILTY insurance in this state. I do have the option of not driving, but that is
just incredibly inconvenient and expensive because I can
not afford cabs every time. There is no public transport
But you are not born with a set of keys and a car. Also, many people go their entire lives without a car or a license.. Also, there are many people out there who do not NEED health insurance..
My dear friend you are living in a dream world. All those
people who think they do not need health insurance, can be
involved in the largest maimer and killer of Americans
outside of natural cause...auto accidents. Who pays their
hospital bills which could easily exceed $50,000 or more.
What happens if they catch a deadly disease like cancer
which is known to happen at any age.
I am sick and tired of paying higher insurance premiums for
my family to cover such irresponsible individuals who refuse
to take individual responsibility.
Why tax everybody and let the cheaters slip by?
Whatever happened to individual responsibility as conservatives?
Are you saying Donald Trump needs health insurance?
Trump can post a $100,000 Hospital bond instead if he wishes
to opt out of health insurance.
Oh so now you have to pay to be a citizen.. Must be more unconstitutional reality. I love how perverted Romneycare gets as you boil it down.
Here is the solution, attach wages and take assets, when people don’t pay their bills. After a few people lose their homes, everyone else will realize that instead of getting a cellphone, get health insurance first. It works for the IRS..
I believe in that too, I just don’t think you can mandate it. The consequence should not be a government fine, rather you lose everything instead.
