Obama says his policies are extension of his faith

Photobucket Photobucket

WASHINGTON (AP) — Blending politics and religion, President Barack Obama said his Christian faith is a driving force behind his economic policies, from Wall Street reform to his calls for the wealthy to pay higher taxes.

Obama's remarks Thursday at the National Prayer Breakfast were his most explicit account of how his personal religious beliefs factor into his decision-making on the nation's pressing problems. The comments came amid election-year criticism from Catholic groups and some Republicans that the president is waging a war on religion following his decision to require church-affiliated institutions to cover free birth control for employees.

Speaking to more than 3,000 people at the annual breakfast, Obama said "faith and values" should play as much as role in tackling the nation's challenges as sound decision-making and smart policies.

He said, for example, that his own call for fairness in the tax code — a central tenet of his State of the Union address and his 2012 campaign — is both economically sound and consistent with the teachings of Jesus. [snip]

"Obama said when he found himself at that moment not knowing what to say, the Holy Spirit interceded."

I don't think that was the Holy Spirit talking to ya.

Looks like he’s convinced that GOPe and MSM will deliver Romney to him.

Obama is a murtad fitri, since his dad was a Muslim, and Obama studied the Koran in Indonesia.

I bet he’s photographed going to church in DC< carrying a Bible!

While I cannot claim to read minds, nor divine the true spirit in another’s heart, I think this could have used a “(Baaarf Alert!)” after the title.

re: “Obama said he believed in a “biblical call” to care for the poor and to follow “the responsibility we’re given in Proverbs to ‘Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.’”

Except the Biblical call to care for the poor was a responsibility put upon the church and the Christian believers, and even here, it was to be given freely, not by coerecion by the government. In fact, it is outside the role of the government.

I have to vomit when he says he has to follow “the responsibility we’re given in Proverbs to ‘Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.’ - yeah, right - like the unborn children he advocates for murdering??

What a fraud and liar he is. How blatant and arrogant. God help us - yet on the other hand, if our nation does not repent of it’s own decadance, killing of the unborn, and rebellion against God and His Word - how can we expect to escape His judgment as a people. God would have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah if He allows us to go unscathed. I remember the quotation on Thomas Jefferson’s statue in the Jefferson Memorial that says, “I tremble for my nation, when I remember that God is just.”

Doesn’t the First Amendment prohibit the establishment of religion, specifically in this case whatever exactly it is that constitutes Obama’s “faith?”

didn't he dis religion ?

You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them," Obama said. "And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religionor antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

True Marxists believe that all religions are bogus philosophies, and only natural and scientific laws are true.

They hold their “class warfare” false doctrine to be undeniable, like the law of gravity.

That is why they keep forcing it upon society, even though it continues to epically fail.

So, it’s OK for a Marxist to blend in their faith with politics, but not a conservative. Hypocracy anyone?

He may have a religious faith but it isn’t a Bible based Christian faith. There are a lot of religions in the world including Islam (Muslim) which is his. He couldn’t name four books of the Bible.

Policies an extension of his faith? How can that be? His faith is not supposed to include pork. His policies dote on it.

Policies an extension of his faith? No wonder his policies are so confusing.

Perhaps the better question is: If churches get threatened with loss of tax-free status for talking politics (because of the "separation of church and state), why does no one call Obama for bringing Jesus into politics? Not only does he blaspheme Jesus, but but he breaks the Left's cardinal rule.
