President Obama at the National Prayer Breakfast. Catholics Won't Get Fooled Again
Catholic Online ^ | 2/3/12 | Deacon Keith Fournier

Posted on 02/03/2012 4:39:43 AM PST by tcg

...President Obama spoke to the National Prayer Breakfast. As a Christian, I want to give him the respect due his office. I try to give him the benefit of the doubt because he professes to believe in the same Savior whom I also profess...

I will not refrain from pointing out the blatant and dangerous contradictions between his words and his actions as the President of the United States.

I am sure these words will soon be on the White House web site. I am also sure they will be utilized repeatedly as his campaign for reelection moves into high gear. He will attempt once again to persuade Catholics and other Christians to support his candidacy. The campaign has a "catholic strategy". It is precisely because of my deep concerns over that effort that I write...

President Obama has opened the flood gates to the unchecked killing of our youngest neighbors through legalized abortion. He has made it clear that Catholic and other Christian institutions will soon be forced to violate their conscience or face punitive consequences. Clearly, this administration intends to violate the constitutional rights of the Church under this unjust edict...

His Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius issued an Edict which demanded that Catholic hospitals and institutions dispense contraceptives (some of which are abortifacients) and offer sterilization under the so called "Affordable care Act". This government seeks to force the Catholic Church to violate conscience. Failure to do so will bring punitive measures from the new Caesar.

The unjust Edict came one day after Pope Benedict XVI addressed a group of US Bishops during their ad limina visit. He warned them of the growth of radical secularism in the United States and the accompanying threats to the fundamental Right to Religious Freedom. He was right!...

> So long as the good people of America are tuned into the
> daily entertainment media we will not overcome the cultural
> bullying of conservative, free market principles.

Could not have said it better myself, and it bears repeating.
Often.

> The only freedom that the media culture loves is their
> freedom to do/say whatever they want to whomever they want.
> No other freedom is sacred to them. Give them that and they
> happily do the bidding of the left.

Again, well said.

nail on head and you stated the problem exactly.

Most Catholics up north have no clue what they are, yes they say they’re Catholic but then vote Dem, support the homosexual agenda, support killing babies.

If the catholic church is serious about this and I think they are then the Pope needs to get over here and raise this issue.
A note to all churches needs to go out and tell their flocks that killing babies is wrong , they were duped, they have now been ignored.

it is not politics is is your faith so mention it in the church and stop being cowardly about this church and state.
When you have Jarrett on TV at a church denouncing republicans then it is alright to mention ones faith about homosexuality and killing babies

“And government is their master....”

But not the creator of the universe. (It seems as if these days the creator of the universe is a Progressive.)

NO, they understand that they have taken God out of the public dialogue. They created a vacuum in which the government now beocomes the moral authority...a god.

Hence why 0bama could say some of the things he did at the breakfast and to most laymen’s ears it ‘sounds’ morally right.

Here is the transcript: http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/national-prayer-breakfast-president-obamas-speech-transcript/2012/02/02/gIQAx7jWkQ_story_3.html

But as noted it is incomplete!!! They are even back tracking even though certain soundbites have slipped into the public discussion.

In 2008 we were able to go back and read the transcripts, but now...the transcripts are even being scrubbed before hitting the net.

“Hell I Have seen a car with an Obama sticker on the left side of the bumper and an Abortion Stops A Beating Heart on the right side parked in the Catholic Church Lot during Sunday Mass “ I’m sorry to say I’ve seen that too. I must also say that the Obot sticker was on the car of the church organist. I removed it. In charity, I might add, because if it remained on the bumper much longer, I’m not sure I could have controlled myself from putting a brick through the windshield.

I do not believe FOR ONE SECOND this many ever ‘converted’ to Christianity.

If he did convert the Muzzies would be going nuts- Isn’t there some sort of penalty for converting away from Islam?

He is a MUSLIM INFILTRATOR

As a Christian, I want to give him the respect due his office.

Personally, I am praying Psalm 94 for Obama & his thugs:

Psalm 94

The wicked band together against the righteous
and condemn the innocent to death.
22 But the LORD has become my fortress,
and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.
23 He will repay them for their sins
and destroy them for their wickedness;
the LORD our God will destroy them.

I can understand Obama's confusion when quoting scripture. When scripture discusses what is expected, it's referring to the fact that it's expected by The Lord. The problem is, according to Obama, the government is The Lord, the ultimate power, the ultimate good. Which is why he can twist scriptures to insist that they demand the government levy higher taxes. But this is nothing new. When he talks about being "my brother's keeper," he doesn't understand that the Bible refers to a person's personal obligation. Obama again believes the Bible is referring to the Bible's mandate for the government to force you to be someone's benefactor.

The Lord made these laws to be personal decisions. The Lord gave us free will. Obama and the leftists are demanding that we have this obligation, they demand the contributions at the point of a gun, and they'll just take a little off the top for themselves...

It's really not too different than his misunderstanding of being a good neighbor vs being a thief... Wasn't that his response to "Joe the Plumber?"

One last thing... Does anyone else believe for an instant that the leftists in government and the media would wouldn't be up in arms, screaming bloody murder, had a conservative Christian referred to government action based on Scripture? They don't, simply because they know what a joke Obama is, and they love the way he twists scriptures, sort of like Satan would.

Liar in chief.

“But for me as a Christian, it also coincides with Jesus’s teaching that “for unto whom much is given, much shall be required.” It mirrors the Islamic belief that those who've been blessed have an obligation to use those blessings to help others, or the Jewish doctrine of moderation and consideration for others.
But part of that belief comes from my faith in the idea that I am my brother's keeper and I am my sister's keeper; that as a country, we rise and fall together. I'm not an island. I'm not alone in my success. I succeed because others succeed with me.”
He spews this crap as his brother lives in a box as he would like everyone in America to, while he sits on a thrown.
As someone said recently, somebody needs to tell obama that he isn't Jesus.

When the public wanted Social Security and Medicare the die was cast

Government can force business and people to pay into these systems they can do anything

Wonder if the Bishops and anyone against government control etc were in favor of those 2 programs —originally not now when they are going broke

As a Patriot who was never a Catholic -but who has come to defend that church -and its people when I find reason to believe they are right— I pray that this man is right—and the delusion is over. Yet part of me believes the nation as a whole is suffering strong delusion even today after three long years.

Local Dem committeeman is a very active member of the CC and trying to talk to these people is a lesson in futility

The Catholics I know practice birth control ardently. They’re not OK with abortion, though.

Although I’m not Catholic, I think it’s good that the higher-ups in the Catholic church are talking about these issues, especially in conjunction with their organizations being forced to provide these services. I hope it’s discussed often and loudly from their pulpits, too. We know for a fact that the MSM won’t be getting the word out to the people.

The “doctrine of social justice” is a siren song.
It promises imputed righteousness through effortless advocacy instead of actual sacrifice.

“Social Justice”, ie, collective sin and collective salvation, is not biblical. Therein lies the problem of putting the Bible below the proclamations of the priesthood as the ultimate authority.

Yes I know many Christians who do and believe the same and are unaware of their duplicity.

The spirit behind “birth control” is the same spirit behind abortion.

That spirit proclaims that children are a burden at least and even a curse. That their emergence among us must be regulated and even curtailed. And that we don’t believe God enough to trust in His promises and his directives.

God’s greatest curse to the living is, “I will cut off your generations.”

God’s greatest blessing to the living is, “I will multiply your seed.”

We have Christians volunteering for the curse and spurning the blessing.

Republican Rep. Phil Gingrey (Ga.) walked out of President Obama’s speech at the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday.
“He was disturbed and offended by the president’s use of prayer and reflection time for partisan politics and class warfare,” .
At the breakfast, Obama tried to tie some of the proposals from his State of the Union address, such as everyone paying their fair share in taxes, to Biblical teachings.
