GOP ‘Sons-A-Bitches’ Going Soft On Gunwalking, Says Blogger Who Broke ‘Fast And Furious’
TPM Muckraker ^ | 2/3/12 | Ryan J. Reilly

Posted on 02/03/2012 11:06:44 AM PST by Nachum

Mike Vanderboegh is drinking Diet Mountain Dew in the cafeteria of the Rayburn building on Capitol Hill, and he is pissed.

Not because his flight from Alabama was almost “as bumpy as [his] first marriage,” nor because he almost got into a physical altercation with an “idiot street urban adventurer” outside the National Archives who said Vanderboegh looked like Newt Gingrich.

The former militia man turned gun rights blogger is angry because he thinks the Republican “sons-a-bitches” on the House Oversight Committee put on the “ultimate display of public limp dickery” during a Thursday hearing in which Attorney General Eric Holder testified about ATF’s botched Operation Fast and Furious.

It was Vanderboegh who in late 2010, following the death of border patrol agent Brian Terry, published the first hint that the federal government told gun dealers to sell semi-automatic weapons to suspected “straw purchasers” they believed were buying them for drug cartels.

Donations from readers of his Sipsey Street Irregulars blog helped him fly out to Washington, D.C. this week for the hearing. Sporting a homemade press pass in a badge holder branded with an NRA logo, Vanderboegh watched from behind the press table as Republicans grilled Holder about what he knew when about the flawed operation in which agents lost track of about 2,000 weapons, many of which have been found at crime scenes in Mexico.

Vanderboegh wasn’t impressed.

They all need to be fired.

Term limits is the answer.

Career politicians are the worse.

This guy should be Newt's VP pick.

Yep. When the dems say “boo”, the wimpy party will cave.

But yet they will attack with vigor any conservative who wants to change the party for the better.

Here’s how I see it.

Obama is in this year. The Republican food fight is more than most Americans can stomach. All 3 of the potential survivors are damaged goods. And with the MSM lying it’s collective butt off for BHO... it’s a fait au complit.

The Republican party is doomed. They are simply Democrat-lite. They fall in line when the Democrats bark. They don’t challenge, their only goal in life is to get and keep a job. Most of them have no guiding principles, aside from the desire to acquire wealth.

It really is time for a 3rd party. There is nothing to lose at this point.

I agree with him, thought the hearing was pathetic. When it comes to punishing the left, the GOP could not make out in a cat house with a pre-approved credit card.

The budget blooming in an economic winter and the betrayal of American cops and militaries’ budgets is going to invite some very interesting results in the near future.

Truth be told...most of the GOP is basically upset the objectives of Gunwalker/FnF failed...and that zealous pursuit can only interfere with the ultimate goal.

if anyone expects the GOP to be any less corrupt than the dims they will be disappointed. It's not the gop vs the dims. It's the politicians vs the people. All the politicians will cover each others asses.

Great article!

Folks, read the whole article.

WHY does V even NEED to justify having written a fictional book?

Does anyone know what happened to the guy who wrote, “Unintended Consequences”....? (a book highly critical of the ATF):

The author is divorced, right? ATF agents approached the guy’s ex-wife on the street, totally unannounced and told her, on her elbow as she was strolling along, “Ya wanna get even with him? We can give you a way....”

Appparently they were fishing for dirt on him.

It’s really chilling that apparently our leaders are CRIMINALS, or something —it really is.

Holder is a mob thug and the mob runs DC and since most elected officials in DC are corrupt, ........... Imagine how hard it would be to clean up the corruption in Mexico and then equate that to the US. We pasted the point of no return when the NEW WORLD ORDER president, GH Bush was in office. Excuse my harshness but tear it down, clean the effing house and start over with the ORIGINAL Constitution in hand.

“pissed/ sons-a-bitches’ — I don’t know, too crass for me. We have so many marvelous words in the English language to convey large feelings .... This turned me off to reading the article.

@John Ross? He's still alive, if that's what you're asking.
