This is a pretty long thread. I have to work tomorrow and can’t read the whole thing. So if this has been mentioned, please forgive me.
Mid-season Vegas odds were 100 to 1.
I sincerely hope some of my FReeper FRiends made some bucks!
Being a Cowboys fan (duck and cover) I made nada.
Also, being a Peyton fan ,it took some of the sting out...even if the Giants are in our division. Lil Bro did good!!

Q. What do you call a Patriots fan with a bottle of champagne?
A. A waiter.

Not a good Super Bowl match-up.
I would have preferred the Ravens, Texans, or Steelers from the AFC and Packers, Saints, and 49ers at least from the NFC.
Since I’m from Pittsburgh, I’ll make some obnoxious comments in favor of Pittsburgh qbs:
Montana > Brady as a plain old winner
Namath > Eli as lucky champion that plays in NY
Marino > Peyton statistically for his time

I taped the game in the hope that the Giants would lose. Then I could have sat back in leisure as I watched the ever so slightly less hated Pats do it to them. Oh, well. Instead I will watch last years SB between the Packers and Steelers!

I had originally guessed that the Giants would win 30-20 (because the Giants running game had improved quite a lot lately), but in the end it was just the flat-out sheer will of Eli Manning that won the game. He'll be discussed as a greater post-season quarterback than his older brother Peyton, whose career is nearing an end even if he does go to another team.
