SNIPPET: "Moeed Abdul Salam didn't descend into radical Islam for lack of other options. He grew up in a well-off Texas household, attended a pricey boarding school and graduated from one of the state's most respected universities."

SNIPPET: "It is not clear to what extent Salam's family knew of his radicalism, but on his Facebook page the month before he died, he posted an image of Anwar al-Awalki, the American al-Qaida leader who was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Yemen, beside a burning American flag."

SNIPPET: "The family, originally from Pakistan, immigrated to the U.S. decades ago."

"It is not clear to what extent Salam's family knew of his radicalism,..."

I'm betting they knew, and either encouraged it actively or passively.

Since the 2001 terrorist attacks, dozens of U.S. citizens have been accused of participating in terrorism activities, including several prominent al-Qaida propagandists, such as al-Awalaki and Samir Khan, who was killed alongside him. Perhaps best known is Adam Gadahn, an al-Qaida spokesman believed to be in Pakistan.

Of 46 cases of "homegrown terrorism" in the U.S. since 2001, 16 have a connection to Pakistan, according to a recent RAND Corporation study.

There is nothing "homegrown" about Islamic terrorists. Their masters are not from America.

“I’m betting they knew, and either encouraged it actively or passively.”

So much for “moderate” islam.

1. Open the floodgates
2. Tell them incessantly they’re victims
3. Bombared them with MultiCulti agitprop
4. Make it impossible for the authorities to monitor Muslims
5. Observe the effects
6. Crack down on REAL Americans

—>I think the authorities LIKE cases like this.<—

And why do they persist with this stupid canard of: Poor muzzies —> terror, because of NO OPTIONS

????

It’s well-known they’re generally well-traveled and well—off.

IDIOTS...

At some point these sand roaches will needs be shipped back to their fifth world muzzie hellholes of origin- en masse. Then the worst, most treasonous of their enablers will be brought to the bar of justice. The serial perjurer and America hating racist Eric Holder would be an excellent case for starters. Yes, that scum Holder, the cowardly girly man who has larded the DOJ with dozens of his fellow traveling muzzie terrorist defenders. The ones who were going to defend a few hundred terrorist vermin in NY federal court, after Holder had sprung them from Gitmo and parked them in the US. Under what authority arising under what jurisdictional statute??? How dare you ask.

Just the usual liberal media smear of Texas.

“He grew up in a well-off Texas household”

But read down a bit - the private school? In Connecticut.

But it wouldn’t fit the agenda to call him a New England educated terrorist.

"Moeed Abdul Salam didn't descend into radical Islam for lack of other options.

Contrary to Liberal mythology, he's the norm, not the exception.

That was our first mistake.

Hundreds of native Texans have become radicalized at UT-Austin. It is a hotbed of Marxist-loving Leftists who recruit Democrat voters in their classes.
And parents are stupid enough to pay big bucks to have their children turn into the dregs of society that one sees at all the Occupy sites.

How about putting the blame where it truly rests: Islam. I know it’s fun for some to slam Texas and Texans any way they can, but the root cause here is Islam.

Actually that kind of stuff turns off radical Muslims, since they want their women covered from head-to-toe, and trust me, in the summer, there is a helluva lot of women walking around Austin with not much on.

But if you want to bash Texas, don't forget that Houston elected an openly lesbian mayor or that Dallas elected an openly lesbian sheriff. Texas is just going downhill, I tell ya!

Y'all should stop trying to blame this on Texas or anyplace in Texas and place the blame where it belongs: Islam.

Just the usual liberal media smear of Texas.

Sorry, what the article says is true. I lived in that area of Dallas-Richardson-Plano where they live and that is an enclave of Muslims with a large Mosque. It is also the headquarters of the Holy Land Foundation which the FBI busted for raising money for the terrorists cause. They are very active and dangerous. In addition to the wealthy ones there is an area of Section Eight Housing where a bunch of poor ones live off me and you.

Just stating facts about tu. I’m an Aggie. It’s the conservative college.

Actually, Texas has gotten more and more liberal since I was a kid, especially the big cities.

See #18. There is a an enclave of Muslims in that part of the Dallas/FW area, and the large majority of Muslim terrorists and organizations that have ties to Texas come out of that area. I'm not sure why they are drawn to the Dallas area.

Actually, Texas has gotten more and more liberal since I was a kid, especially the big cities.

Pretty much. Dallas has their Muslims and lesbian sheriff, Houston has their lesbian mayor and lots of Democrats and outlying areas that like their UAVs so they can spy on folks, Austin has its hippies and druggies, and the border cities...not a place to take the kids on vacation.

A big part of what is driving it though is that Texas became a minority-majority state several years ago, and pretty soon Hispanics will be the largest group - I think by 2020. The Democrats are wasting no time coming in and kissing up to them.
