If youve learned anything from Super Bowl XLVI so far, its that driving a Ford will get you killed when the apocalypse comes.
Unsurprisingly, this spot from Chevy is already generating the most controversy. In it, a man drives through a post-apocalyptic landscape and finds the only survivors are fellow Chevy drivers. Their friend, sadly, drove a Ford and is dead.

Ford needs to bring back the commercial with the genuine Ford buyer saying he wouldn’t support a company which got a government bailout.

This is the theme of "Left Behind". There the good people are sucked up away from Earth in what is called "The Rapture". The evil people are left behind.
So, the variation here is that All The Chevy People Are Evil and All The Ford People Are Swept Up To Heaven?
Hmm.

The other Chevy commercial showed a chevy parachuting from an airplane, bungee jumping, playing a giant musical instrument, etc. Yeah, all things I look for in a vehicle.

Just another big socialism, government attack on the private sector.
The imagery is ironic. Total destruction, bankrupt twinkies, and government motors.
Yep.
Sigh.

Ford should run an ad pointing the finger at GM and their Kenyan Commie enabler who committed theft and fraud on an historically unprecendented scale.
A crime that calls into question the FUNDAMENTAL integrity of our securities markets.

Their aim is seriously misdirected. They are getting the stuffing beaten out of them by Asian brands. I drove American metal for as long as possible. Now I have two KIA's, a Sedona van and a Rio sedan. They beat the hell out of anything I've ever gotten from Detroit. I'd rather buy an American marque, but Detroit will not produce what we need without being dragged and pulled into submission.

What they didn’t show in the ad was that the apocalypse was brought about by a Volt exploding near a nuclear power plant.

My first thought when the commercial began with scenes of a city in ruins was that it was going to be a statement on Obama’s America.

I’m probably not the first to notice - but I didn’t see a Ford commercial.
I saw VERY long expensive commercials fo the two taxpayer funded US Auto companies. But none from Ford.
Also - the tone of the two ads - Chevy - the thing to drive after the apocolypse - Chrysler “We know how to come back from the brink” -
I wonder - if it says something about their corporate mentality - or even their customers. Very self important. Very - “Self focused about how important they are”.
Then - compare the Suzuki ad - “Traded the sled” -
I could probably go on forever - but there was a tone there.
To: WilliamIII
And - another thing -
For the strangest reason - I want to go out and buy a Fiat 500 Abarth.
I think my Alfas are jealous.
