I didn’t watch the game.

Hey, not everyone likes football. How'd Manchester United and Arsenal do this weekend?

It was a good one. Especially for a 60+ year Giants fan.

You can interpret the ad in more than one way, even if we think we know what the makers of the ad were trying to get across.

Another way to interpret the message:

Team USA (constitutional republic) is playing Team Progressive. After a couple of miscues to begin the game, Team USA got its bearings and pretty quickly jumped out to a comfortable lead in the first quarter. Then, in the second quarter, we began to lose our focus and intensity and started making some mistakes that allowed the opposition to get back into the game. Even so, until late in the second quarter we held on to a two-score lead.

Late in the second quarter (2008-2011), as time was running out before halftime, we mistakenly inserted a rookie quarterback in place of a veteran starter, who proceeded to fumble and throw a couple of interceptions one of which was a pick six, giving the opponent a lead going into halftime and presumably solid momentum to begin the second half.

During halftime, Team USA realized that we had gotten complacent in the second quarter, and away from the original game plan.

So during halftime, Team USA has some decisions to make.. would we refocus and rededicate ourselves to the proposition that losing was not an option, that we’re not giving up? Would we scrap the “prevent defense” that had been deployed late in the second quarter and go on the offensive? Would we put in a different quarterback (election of 2012), and do everything in our power to getting back to the same strategy that had worked so well in the first quarter?

Sure, we may have dropped the ball a few times late in the first half and shot ourselves in the foot with the rookie quarterback (and yes, there were some questionable calls by the striped zebras- aka msm), but there in an entire second half to play and losing is NOT an option. We ARE the better team and if we lose this game, we will only have ourselves to blame.

You missed a classic.....Manchester United came back from down 3-0 to tie Chelsea.

I am rewarding them by buying a 2013 Shelby GT500 Cobra.

Enjoy, but BE SAFE!

"They took their ball and went home."

It appears to me that they don't want it used for political purposes.

I heard a interview with the Fiat/Chryler CEO and he expressed concern over its use for political reasons.

The CEO's also made other, very pro- "American Values" statements, so I would caution against getting out ahead of this and thinking there is a pro-Obama spin.

Here’s a follow up commercial that hasn’t been aired yet. Clint Eastwood strongly endorses riding a mule for gas mileage, and trust me, you don’t want to mess with this mule ..

Did the Randall Terry pro-life ad ever show? I missed part of the game yesterday.

It’s not a matter of whether I like football, which I do, it’s just that as a principled conservative, I can’t support it. It’s crony capitalism.

All three would be better off if GM and Chrysler would have BK’d or prepack BK. That would have cleared the market and ended the private market's union problems permanently.

I don’t disagree with you on that point. They needed to gut it out.

Detroit’s the model for America? What comeback?

Yep, that's the big flaw in the script. Detroit ain't coming back, it's going further down as we speak. If this is the 'model' for and American comeback, we're doomed.

Responded earlier and don’t know where it went. Guess I shouldn’t talk bad about the NFL.

Clint has been pretty lame for years so I’ve been skipping his movies. Hollyweird undermined him though it took a while. Plus maybe his new wife for all I know

For the greatest ad in Super Bowl history, EVER, see:

Kind of ironic that Apple is the one with the mind-numbed followers now. :-)

Only those who use Apple’s “entertainment” and “mobility” products, not us Mac users!!!!

Of course, users of similar non-Apple “entertainment” and “mobility” products are at least as mind-numbed!

But the REAL irony is that under obama we are living in “1984”. That old Apple ad is relevant WAY beyond the computer industry!!!!
