something has happened to Coulter. I don't have firsthand knowledge that she was kidnapped by RINO Team Six and taken to an offshore medical facility where she was forced to undergo a gruesome surgical procedure, but many of her recent columns suggest that something of the sort must have occurred. What else could explain her endorsement of Mitt Romney? Once immutable where her core convictions were concerned, she has executed a vertigo-inducing volte-face in order to promote a brazen opportunist whose positions on the big issues were the opposite of hers before he began running for President. She relentlessly trashes Republican "moderates" like McCain, yet now supports a candidate who makes the Arizona Senator look like Barry Goldwater by comparison.
It first became apparent that something awful had happened to Coulter last November, when she wrote a column asking "If Not Romney, Who? If Not Now, When?" In this surreal effusion, she claimed that the media were "pushing Newt Gingrich" and other alternatives to Romney "because they are terrified of running against him." This, as many pointed out at the time, was preposterous. The only thing that terrifies the media about Romney is that he might not get the GOP nomination. This is the man they want to run against. Unlike Coulter, the media and the Obama reelection team know that Romney can be easily portrayed as a Wall Street parasite whose only memorable "accomplishment" as the Governor of Massachusetts was the enactment of a health "reform" law that renders him unable to credibly denounce ObamaCare.

Whoever got her also got ahold of Nikki Haley and John Bolton as well.
Ann does appear to have an adam’s apple. Now an article wondering about “her castration”.
Hmmmmm... could it be Ann’s given name is something like Arnold?
It’s why I don’t trust ANY of them. They say what we want to hear and then flip on us and expect us to line up and come along. They have tried to whip us into a frenzy so we will accept whoever they shove down our throats.
No more.
As a parent, I learned that when a teenager is talking nonsense, it usually means they are basing their comments on having skin jn a game they don’t want you to know about. At its simplest, it means they are lying. But they may be lying for a reason unknown to you.
I think the same is going on with Coulter, et-al. I think they know or believe things we are not privy to, and end up taking a position that makes no sense to us.
Frankly, since they are obviously in a position to have information sources we don’t have, it’s a little scary.
She never was a conservative... she was and is a republican.... the same for most people who claim to be conservative, they are party first, everything else second ( there are plenty of examples to be found here on FR )...
Whoever it was, they forgot to remove the Adam's apple as well.
You may be spot on with your suggestion. Far too many whom we’ve considered solid conservatives have shown a tendency toward moderation lately. I too think something’s going on. And I don’t like it.
Little Annie Coultergeist! She is looking to the most pro gay agenda GOP nominee to validate Matt Drudge and all of her pals at GOProud.
This is why a Romney presidency will be a disaster for the Tea Party movement.
To support Romney, Tea Partiers have to abandon their principles and twist conservative logic into pretzels. It leaves everyone in the movement open to being called hypocrites. “You were against Obamacare, but are OK with Romneycare? You’re nothing but hypocrites that put party ahead of principle.”
If Tea Partiers stick to their principles (which would mean opposing Romney), they will be called petty purists that are only helping get Obama reelected.
Just like they did with forcing Reagan to select GHW Bush as his VP, they just showed her the brush they were going to tar her with and she rolled over.
Maybe she is auditioning for Rachel Maddow’s job or a spot as guest speaker on Al Sharptongues show.
She is becoming the Lady GaGa of the conservative movement.

The second statement is questionable, but the first is true, and ought to be addressed by the people who are attacking Ann.
Ann Coulter argues in a particular way. She always paints herself as a true conservative and those she disagrees with as godless, degenerate liberals and subjects them to ridicule.
She's not going to change that way of thinking and arguing, even if she's wrong or the people who disagree with her are more conservative.
I guess there's a kind of poetic justice in the way Ann's been dropped so quickly by fans and in the way she's being attacked by people who once worshiped her -- and being attacked in the same way that she used to attack her own targets.
But if you loved her or supported her in the past, how can all the good feeling vanish so quickly with one disagreement?
Eww.. my distaste for her is up there with glen beck...
I think her support of GoProud explains it all.
IMHO, somebody made a large purchase of Coulter’s book. We’re talking by the truckload.
Considering how much money Romney has passed out in recent years to buy politicians (including things like paying of Pawlenty’s campaign debt), and how much he spent in Florida, the cost of buying a ton of books to ensure a “conservative” author is on his side is certainly a reasonable suspicion.
She looks like a meth-head.
I don’t ever listen to her, what does she say is the reason for backing Romney?
Ann is out of her mind. Just before she was for Romney, she was arguing that if we didn’t draft Christie, Romney would be the nominee and he would lose. What exactly has changed Ann?

And don’t forget Matt Drudge invited her to speak at his latest Log Cabin Republican conference and she did so happily.
My take on it is psychological:
Conservatism was the ammo that offered the most bang for the young, pugnacious Coulter. She was the rebel against rebels, the outrageous right among the left (in college, law school, etc.) Now she seeks a second adolescence, trying to recapture that feeling, and being shes firmly in the ranks of the conservatives, she can only rebel by becoming the outrageous left among the right.
Its nothing to do with principles, really. Its to do with psychology. The extreme high-strung tension, the manic torrent of words, the pyrotechnic hostility; these things betray a long-running inner conflict as do the chronic smoking and drinking.
Then too, when the inner 14-year-old finds herself in the body of a 50-year-old...thats got to detonate the ticking bomb. Nothing gets irrelevant faster than a woman passing 50, and losing attention is not to be borne.
Coulters concealed Carrie is coming out blasting.
I remember a few years ago when everyone hooted and hollered when ever Ann hit the screen and raved about how there had to be the ‘obligatory’ picture.
Never paid attention to her from Day 1. It is obvious the only reason she is on TV is because she is blonde and long legs and half coherent.
Time for a wardrobe overhaul, too. The little black dress has gotten cliche.
“She believes a Republican can’t win without pulling in voters who went for Obama last time. She thinks Romney is the candidate who can do that.”
That’s funny. She believes that a choice between Cool-Black Obama and Stuffed-Shirt-White Obama people will vote for the stuffed shirt? She’s not too smart.
I guess in this election instead of asking who you’d rather have a beer with it’s going to come down to: Whose country club would you rather belong to?
I predict a low turnout all around in November.
I think this is a desperate cry for help.
Well, you have to admit, that is one of the best transexual conversions I have ever seen. He's absolutely beautiful!
We know it wasn't John Galt.
In the words of Austin Powers, the international man of mystery: “That’s a man, baby!”
The Romney campaign is already a disaster for the conservative movement. Just when they should be rarin' to go into battle to save the country, conservatives are sullen, demoralized and dispirited as it appears more and more likely that Romney will be the GOP's presidential standard bearer. If you don't believe me, just read the Romney, Gingrich, Santorum, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, etc. threads on this board.

There’s a clip of Coulter saying, ‘I support Christie because otherwise we’ll get Romney and we’ll lose.’ Seems to me her original read on the candidates ‘might’ have been pragmatic, and given what’s going on, we’ll see, but showed a real lack of faith in Conservatism winning the day. I think she will regret having to shill for Romney.
Corrections:
Then too, when the inner 14-year-old BOY finds HIMself in the body of a 50-year-old transexual...and there's no need to worry about the ticking clock, because he has no functional womb to begin with. Nothing gets irrelevant faster than a transexual passing 50, and losing attention is not to be borne.
I corrected for grammar and punctuation.
Coulter is an opportunist. She talked the conservative line when it put cash in her pockets. Now that Romney is the establishment choice she falls in line because she thinks he has the bast chance of winning, and, therefore, put more cash in the hole in her head.
She has one guiding principal; what benefits her and to hell with all others.
Ann has become a disgrace and a fraud. I guess either she was a self-interested hack from the beginning, or Bill Maher may have inseminated her with some of his creepiness. Bob
Love your tag line;)

Never could stand Ann. She crossed over to the dark side in the middle of W’s admin. I don’t understand why FReepers are still posting threads for that nasty skinny freak.
Actually it looks like she’s spot on. Christie isn’t running. Romney is front runner and if he wins the GOP nomination odds are he will lose. The nutty thing is that she’s encouraging it. I guess she makes more money when a Dem is in office, the country be damned.
Never assume a Republican is a conservative.
Annie's Answer--The El Dorados
Appearance, the guy with the executive hair, unfortunately has made a difference for years now.
I remember when Nixon debated Kennedy in 1960. Those who heard it on the radio were clear that Nixon won the debate while those who saw the Nixon who was recovering from the flu and the carefully groomed and tanned Kennedy were sure that Kennedy won the debate.
This has evolved into one of the primary requirements for running: the candidate must look “presidential”.
It is a load, but voters tend to be shallow both in their candidate preferences as well as their intelligence.
You know what this means right?
I think the same is going on with Coulter, et-al. I think they know or believe things we are not privy to, and end up taking a position that makes no sense to us.
Frankly, since they are obviously in a position to have information sources we dont have, its a little scary.
Yours is an insightful post. I've always said, "When 2 + 2 = 5 or 7 you are missing one or three important pieces of information." Unfortunately much of what is happening today in Washington D.C. is more like 2 + 2 = 2.7 million.
