One time I agree with Rove in about 5 years. Should we start using the “Rove You Magnificent Bastard” pics again?

Uhm, Clint Eastwood is an actor who reads what others, in this case Madison Avenue hacks, write.

Rove is not the issue here. Eastwood was shilling for Chrysler in the ad....a company whose Chryslers are put together in Canada and whose profits are shipped overseas to foreigners at Fiat in sunny Italy.
Subbing for Rush today, Mark Styne was all over Eastwood and the ad like white on rice.
(Clint obviously did no research or he needs the money.....I'll give him the benefit of the doubt....hmmmmm, that's amore, I guess).

Or as my 2.5 year old daughter would say: EEE! Bah! Bee Bee Bee Bee Bee! (stabbing her finger at the TV)My two year old grabbed the remote and changed the channel. My husband almost blew a nut because he had a half hour of the game cashed so he could skip through or review a commercial.

Hi Betty, I pretty much agree with you.
To the extent that the ad might have been paid for with bailout money, or some residual thereof, then that bothers me, but the words in the ad were about American workers fighting back. I have no problem with that. But, I was a Reagan convert from the Dem Party, I have blue-collar roots, and I believe the middle class is the backbone of the USA.

I rather liked the ad too, until I heard everybody telling me how bad it was. Knowing Eastwood better than to think he likes obama, all the bruhaha didn't even dawn on me.
Sad commentary. Does everything have to be viewed as political? Sheesh.

The only thing that ad convinced me of, is how strongly I feel about America, the American spirit and that the message in that ad spoke to the very heart of what America is and should be. They may have tried to propagandize it, but it touched me, because that message was a great message and knowing Eastwood is not an Obama supporter, just made me think it might have been a message to those who oppose him.
If anything, we need more encouraging, go get em, locker room rally speeches that pump up the greatness of America.
That's what I thought, too.
But buying a car? Nah....
Likewise.

You got part of it right ....The correct response here is :
“I really hate Karl Rove but this time he is right”

I thought the ad was scripted ambiguously and deliberately vague so it could be taken either way, depending on what side of the political spectrum you reside.
I thought he meant we were in the locker, deciding how to win, and that meant replacing the current regime.
