A U.S. teenager who admitted stabbing, strangling and slitting the throat of a young neighbor girl wrote in her journal on the night of the killing that it was an "ahmazing" and "pretty enjoyable" experience -- then headed off to church with a laugh.
The words written by Alyssa Bustamante were read aloud in court Monday as part of a sentencing hearing to determine whether she should get life in prison or something less for the October 2009 murder of her neighbor, 9-year-old Elizabeth Olten, in Missouri.
Bustamante, 18, sat silently as law enforcement officers, attorneys and forensics experts read aloud the thoughts she had recorded as a 15-year-old.
A handwriting expert described how he was able to see through the blue ink that Bustamante had used in an attempt to cover up her original journal entry on the night of Elizabeth's murder. He read the entry aloud:
"I just f------ killed someone. I strangled them and slit their throat and stabbed them now they're dead. I don't know how to feel atm. It was ahmazing. As soon as you get over the 'ohmygawd I can't do this' feeling, it's pretty enjoyable. I'm kinda nervous and shaky though right now. Kay, I gotta go to church now...lol."

Alyssa Bustamante is shown in a 2009 booking photo after being arrested for the murder of her 9-year-old neighbor in Missouri.
Just shoot her.
The perfect result of everything that’s wrong with our society.
how very sad! She is a sociopath, hence incapable of feeling any remorse for her actions. She is a danger to society, and she will never change.
One wonders what creates a soulless monster like this.
Don’t care what gender or age. Psychopath murderers all just need to be executed when found. They are deadly to the rest of society at large.
Cheap and effective.
The problem here is that she was a minor when she did the deed and is likely to be released some day.
She'll do it again.
wow...
Shooting is too quick an end to her.
What church does this miscreant go to anyway?
They say that sociopaths are born, not made. One either has an emotional connection to other people and you realize their cares and concerns matter - or one does not.
Someday they may well track it to something chemical.
Until then the question is what to do with those sociopaths who reveal themselves. They cannot be trusted, never can be, they simply do NOT care about anyone but themselves.
Notice she said nothing about the life of a 9 year old brought to an end - it was all about herself and her own emotional reactions.
Cold. Humans simply should not be born that way. Something is horribly wrong with these people.
“Defense attorneys Monday highlighted Bustamante’s troubled childhood, referring to numerous references in her journal describing her suicidal feelings and the urge to hurt herself and others.”
You know, as a rule I am opposed to suicide. But if this monster had done it before killing that little girl . . . I am finding it hard to object.
Life in prison or something less??? How about something MORE.
Short Rope.
Long Drop.
Problem Solved.
Every day will be an adventure!
Every day will be an adventure!
I’d do the same thing to her that I do to my french fries, fry the stupid bitch...
.
Fair Trial.
Conviction.
The Chair.
Long Drop.
Problem Solved.
Au contraire, mon frere - this creature requires something more enjoyable.
Short Rope.
VERY SHORT drop.
LOTS of kicking and twisting.
A nice white wine, olives, and those little crackers with some nice cheese.
Classical music softly playing in the background.
All good things take time.
the floor should just open up and she should fall into a pit of crocodiles....
But long before the alleged murder, Alyssa Bustamante's home life was full of emotional torment, according to court records and friends, who say that Bustamante, 15, was mostly raised by her grandparents while her mother struggled with substance abuse and her father was in jail.
Alyssa Bustamante's grandmother, Karen Brooke, became the girl's legal guardian when she was 7-years-old, according to court records obtained by the Jefferson City News Tribune. She also took on responsibility for Alyssa's two younger brothers, the paper said.
Meanwhile, Alyssa Bustamante's mother, Michelle Bustamante, struggled to pay rent and racked up three misdemeanor criminal convictions, including one for drunken driving and another for marijuana possession, according to court records obtained by the paper.
Her father, 34-year-old Ceaser Bustamante, whose identity was confirmed by the Cole County Sheriff's Dept., is serving three concurrent prison terms for three counts of felony assault in Missouri Eastern Correctional Facility, according to a spokesperson for the Missouri Dept. of Corrections.
Jennifer Meyer, a friend of Alyssa Bustamante's since middle school, told reporters, that Alyssa's father had been arrested for "stabbing someone." Local police have not yet confirmed that.

Irrelevent.
You must truly enjoy living dangerously.
Does Missouri not have the death penalty? Was she charged as an adult or juvenile?
A little clarity in terminology.
In general use, the term psychopath implies that an individual is naturally unable to experience empathy with others. However, it is a spectrum condition.
A normal person must have some ability to ignore empathy and sympathy of others, at least part of the time, just to function. On the other extreme is utter indifference to others, animals and humans equal to inanimate objects.
Most psychopaths are able to function normally in society, as they have developed alternative means to prevent their own anti-social behavior. Such people may be highly respected for their abilities, such as surgeons who understand that they must hurt to heal.
They are also often seen as superior leaders.
The word sociopath was created to distinguish a person who is born a psychopath from a normal person who has been trained, indoctrinated, or traumatized into performing acts without empathy or sympathy. It was most commonly seen during wartime, where soldiers were taught to dehumanize their enemy.
Finally, it is important to note that this girl may not be either a clinical psychopath or a sociopath.
Instead she might be a *sadist*, someone who derives pleasure from inflicting pain on others. This is distinct from the other two psychologies, because she is not indifferent to the pain of others, she wants to perceive it, and revel in it.
You may not survive the honeymoon.....................
How grody. They’re, like, reading my private diary. Isn’t that, like, tsk, um, illegal or something?/s
That's just an excuse. There are bad seeds that come from wonderful homes and wonderful people who had horrific homelives.
Liberal uses of the death penalty would curb a lot of this. Murderers should die for their crimes. If people know they’re going to die themselves for doing horrible acts, it would stop a lot of them from doing it.

The perp may not have deserved such a quick, painless and dignified ceremony. But it had the appropriate deterrent effect and administered proper justice blended with proper mercy.
And that was what was most important.
Civilization started to go downhill once we became squeamish about it.
Understand that the Bustamante "family" was essentially a product of liberal welfare policies and a liberal judiciary.
These monsters are actually created and maintained by taxpayer money.
Not happening...a trial that is. A local case here to me...but the authorities messed up somehow in taking her confession, and it was going to be thrown out....IIRC, they let her plead guilty to 2nd degree murder vice 1st degree..so death penalty was not an option.
“nderstand that the Bustamante “family” was essentially a product of liberal welfare policies and a liberal judiciary.”
Her grandparents had custody of her since a very small child, as the mother was absent and father in prison.
Her grandparents were respected members of the local Mormon Church, where the killer was very active in youth activities.
Sociopath. Put her in jal and throw away the key.

I doubt going to a Mormon church had anything to do with it. Her father was in jail for stabbing someone. Her mother was a doper. She lived with her grandparents.
She had incredible obstacles. And - IMO - she was just a Natural Born Killer.
Psychosis cannot be cured. You either have to incarcerate them for life or kill them. If this girl gets out she will just kill someone else.
Her grandparents were respected members of the local Mormon Church, where the killer was very active in youth activities.
Mebbe so. But her mother and father were the beneficiaries of an enabling environment that didn't hold them directly responsible for their "mistakes".
As a society, we no longer penalize anti-social behavior, we actually reward it -- thereby encouraging its propagation.
The Bustamante girl did what she did because she thought she could get away with it.
That was a useful discussion, thanks.
A short rule of thumb is also that psychopaths are motivated, while sociopaths are merely opportunistic.
Think Hillary and Bill. Hillary is a psychopath - she's motivated, driven and obsessive like a shark. While Bill is entirely opportunistic, and lives off of the carnage of Hillary's constant depredations like a catfish eating what falls to the bottom.
Both, I believe are also sadistic. The psychopath is sadistic in that they equate making people suffer with success through dominating them and achieving their goals. The sociopath enjoys watching people suffer because they enjoy their own indifference to the suffering.
And both psychopathy and sociopathy have their roots in psychotically obsessive narcissism - they can't empathize because they refuse to empathize, as in refuse to the death. To them, empathy is for suckers, and life is nothing but war. They are reptilian - not mammalian - and that's why they're so hard to comprehend.
And when reptilians want to control creatures, they turn them into insects - which explains the government and corporate bureaucrat mindset.
Busy little bees and ants and roaches, run by lizards.
And if you join a secret society (take your pick), you too can be turned into a meat puppet for these energies.
But hey, you'll be popular! What a deal!
Maybe Romney will pardon her if he becomes the next POTUS.
We have tried lenient sentences for juveniles. They don't work, & this imperils society.
I also favor holding BOTH parents, custodial or not, criminally responsible for the actions of their children. If they are gonna have kids, they are responsible to civilize them.
I do not often side with society over individual rights, but in the case of violent perps, young or old, male or female, I believe the safety of society heavily outweighs the rights of a violent felon. IMO, a violent felon forfeits his rights forever the moment he/she commits an unlawful, violent act. A violent felon has no more rights than a rabid dog, & for exactly the same reason. Without humanity they aren't human.
The perp may not have deserved such a quick, painless and dignified ceremony. But it had the appropriate deterrent effect and administered proper justice blended with proper mercy.
And that was what was most important.
Point taken, and in this case very grudgingly agreed with, despite my post.
Civilization started to go downhill once we became squeamish about it.
Perhaps that's why it's so easy to dismiss your civilized (and correct) reminder of how to deal with these things - because civilized justiced has been raped for so long, that atrocities are being protected in the name of compassion, while childrens dead bodies lay blood in the dirt.
And I don't believe psychopaths "can't be reached." It's just a matter of being willing to speak their language.
Dont care what gender or age. Psychopath murderers all just need to be executed when found. They are deadly to the rest of society at large.
&&
Agreed. Rehabilitation is not possible.
It might have been environment, or it might have been the genetics of having a double dose of criminal genes.
I like a good laugh, but don’t you think humor is out of place on a thread that describes the brutal murder of a child?

Just don’t make her the beneficiary on your life insurance policy. There’s risky behavior and “adventure”, and then there’s “stupid”.
