The creative minds behind the ad are in the agency’s Portland, Ore., branch. Aaron Allen designed a poster for the 2008 Obama campaign and Jimm Lasser designed a basketball sneaker called the “Obama Force One,” with an image of the president on the soles and the message “A Black Man Runs and a Nation Is Behind Him.” Lasser displayed the shoe in a 2008 gallery exhibition with the tagline “The Dunk on McCain.”

I liked the spot, and I don’t think it was pro-Obama. The auto-bailouts began under GW Bush by the way, not Obama. So if you think that it’s a great policy - well thank Dubya!

Half way through an 8-year “term” in the White House and we are supposed to believe it wasn’t more Pepsi “HOPE” corporate communism.
The ad was not about cars.
The ad gave me the message that Obama is halfway through his eight years, and we should all support him. This was basically a taxpayer funded Obama camapign ad. The people who made the ad understood this. This was their mandate.

With the amount of vacation and fun time Obama has logged as opposed to the time at actual work, I’d say a “half-time” President is a good description of his work ethic which he himself described as lazy I think. So yes, “half-time”.... let’s run with it. He has been a half-time President and we really could use a full-time one.

That was exactly my impression, immediately and without having to do any deep analysis. By the way, it was a Chrysler ad. (Born and raised in Detroit and now living in a western suburb, I did not like Eminem's Chrysler ad from last year either.)

After the 2008 election, I see no signs of the American ‘can do’ spirit. I see many demands from the government to ‘do something’. I see many waiting for the government’s largess to be distributed.
I do not see anyone filling the void left by those who went Galt in 2008.
