Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has been under fire from world leaders to step down this week. He’s also under fire from hacktivist group Anonymous, who leaked hundreds of his office’s emails on Monday.

While Anonymous is infamous for its hacking know-how, it doesn’t take a genius computer programmer to guess one of the passwords commonly used by Assad’s office accounts: 12345. The string of consecutive numbers is the second-weakest password according to a 2011 study.

Reminds me of Feynman and his fiddling around with combination locks at the Los Alamos project.

He could figure out the combo of any locked safe there rather swiftly. Some officer had a special safe installed and he bragged to Feynman that THIS one he couldn't open - but didn't give him a chance. When the officer left and forgot to leave behind the combination for the lock - Feynman was excited to meet the Base locksmith they sent to open it - especially when he saw he opened it in NO TIME AT ALL.

The funny thing was Mr. “I have a special safe for MY stuff” never reset it from the factory combo of 0-0-0-1 or whatever.

I can see Obama’s DOJ hack Holder going after this person who dared to hack into Al-Assad’s accounts and may go as far as extradite him to Syria to face charges there !

The DOJ and FBI had their own web servers hacked by Anonymous, and no one’s been made to account for that. Holder couldn’t convict a shoplifter for a pack of gum let alone catch an Anonymous hacker.
