It’s been said “History doesn’t repeat, but it rhymes” (Sam Clemens?).

The 80th anniversary of that event is this summer.

Per Strauss & Howe, it’s time for another cycle.

Really doesn’t bode well for the next decade-or-so. (But then, you knew that )

The Gods of the Copybook Headings ...

Haven’t really studied Strauss & Howe’s generational notion of historical cycles, so I can’t say much about it. I dod suspect that what’s coming at us will be unlike anything else that has transpired so far in human history. If I’m correct, we’re witnessing the deadly convergence of the Pakistani-Peruvian and the Scandinavian-Slavonic axes - two vast currents of history, human nature and outlook, combined with the modern rise of the will to power - to form a potentially civilization-ending stream of events.

We here in America stand alone against that mighty current in the affairs of men and history.

Yes, the Gods of the Copybook Haadings will indeed “with terror and slaughter return”.

But along with that, we may also witness the return of the heroic, and we’ll see it in the stand that some of us will take against that awful tide. This is our one hope - finding the hero in our souls of which Rand spoke.
