Illinois SWAT Gets OK on Silencers
CBS St. Louis ^ | 9 Feb 2012 | via IRN

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -Under a just passed law, Illinois SWAT units can now attach silencers to their weapons. The silencer is designed to give police special operations teams the advantage if they find themselves in a firefight .

The sponsor of the measure, state senator Dave Koehler says if police have to enter a room and fire their weapons the silencer allows them to concentrate on their target.

“Hearing loss of up to 15 seconds can make a big difference between whether hostages are killed or not.”

Are they going to use suppressors on their flashbangs, since their hearing is important?

They already have them. They’re called ‘Internal Affairs’.

My idea on where to draw the line on “banned” weapons —

If the cops can have them, then ordinary citizens can, too. ‘cause really, you’re talking about the dividing line between military and police/militia — not between police and the citizenry.

Silencers? Full auto weapons? Body armor, short-barrel shotguns, personnel carriers? Fine! If cops want to have ‘em, citizens can possess them too. No permits required.

Nuclear weapons, RPGs, shoulder fired AA missiles? Probably not, for either cops OR civilians.

Well, that’s nice to know. Don’t want to disturb anyone’s sleep when the SWAT team arrives in the middle of the night to dispatch a bunch of “terrorists”; and that would be “terrorists” as defined by the Obama regime... meaning anyone that disagrees with them.

Good for shooting your dog in the middle of the night without waking up the neighbors.

Regular muzzle loading cannons are legal. I have an uncle that used to build them, years ago. Lots of fun. At least as expensive as horses or sailboats.

That’s OK, as long as you don’t mind the cops having them too...

They WOULD be a lot of fun at the range. :-)

Glad to know that there aren’t restrictions on this Dean Martin movie there. I couldn’t resist the lame attempt at humor.

Nice looking equipment.

Not a lot different than what the Syrian Army is using in Homs.

Short of it is you can get one but the tax on it is a few hundred dollars and is technically considered a weapon itself.

Before gangsters used them, in cities it was socially supported to not disturb your neighbor, if you were doing target practice. Many places encouraged using them.

I really woulda thought they’d wear the type of hearing protection that cuts out above a certan decibel level. Voices can be heard, as can gunshots, but damaging noise is eliminated.

You want the framework behind everything Obama is doing?

Freedom From War, Publication 7277, State Dept. 1961.

Reducing nuke stockpile. Internal security forces - ie "we need a civilian military AS STRONG as ou military". Militarizing the police (SWAT). Cutting regular military down - a sizeable part of which is operating under UN command or fulfilling UN objectives. Disarming citizens. The latest UN small arms treaty crap. Destroying the last superpower by killing the economy and creating economic crises by printing money like water. Getting ready to Cyprus our 401k's into "government bonds" and private bank savings into "stock/equity in the bank" your money's in - worse than FDIC-insured. Not far fetched as he hates America, walked around for months with the Post-America book he was reading, has all national intelligence assets looking at anyone who is "anti-government" (anti-Obama) as a threat. (And in case you didn't know, Freedom From War, the UN treaties do not allow civillians to remain armed - which means confiscation, by force if necessary.)

Do not think they will not take your supplies as well, as these emergency orders will also allow them to take any of your property they need. Once they disarm you it won't be hard.

This is what it's all about. In its "Second Annual Report to Congress" (February 1963), the ACDA presented a simple graphic depiction (see top of next page) demonstrating its proposed three-stage disarmament process:

U.S. THREE-STAGE DISARMAMENT PLAN
