Obama to announce religious "accommodation" for religious organizations

The Obama administration will attempt to accommodate religious groups that are unhappy with a new mandate that forces them to offer health insurance that covers contraceptive methods.

With the White House under fire for its new rule requiring employers including religious organizations to offer health insurance that fully covers birth control coverage, ABC News has learned that later today the White House — possibly President Obama himself — will likely announce an attempt to accommodate these religious groups.

The move, based on state models, will almost certainly not satisfy bishops and other religious leaders since it will preserve the goal of women employees having their birth control fully covered by health insurance.

The corpseman caves.

I almost wish he wouldn’t. It was a great clearcut example of his anticonstitutionalism.

Just because it's free doesn't mean you have to take them up on it.

But, of course, it's not free. The benefit is paid for in the cost of the policy, whether you use it or not. So to the extent you are required to purchase a policy that is required to include that benefit, you are being forced to purchase the service, whether you use it or not.

Another part of the problem - it’s not just being against it yourself, it’s the fact that we will be forced to pay for preventative and abortifacient drugs for OTHERS, against our beliefs and wishes making us a party to the sin ourselves.

Also, if they make an exception for “institutions” like the Catholic Church, then what protection against infringement will OTHER Christians who are NOT associated with such a large “organization” do when faced with the decision to comply or not against their personally held beliefs? Will they be told that since it’s a PERSONAL belief and not necessarily one enforced by one’s chosen church you don’t have the right to NOT pay for these things? If the government has the right to tell you what beliefs are acceptable, and which ones aren’t then we have NO Freedom of Religion any longer...

This is so ironic as it violats the much touted “separation of church & state’ principle of the First Amendment. They cry about the “separation of church & state” when someone prays on government property but have no problem with government dictating to religious organizations. The Founders are once again rolling in their graves.

Media Dictionary

“accommodation”

Definition: A Democrat flushing her/his opponent’s beliefs, valuables or goals down the toilet... in a way the media can cover up.

Why should only religious organizations get this exemption? If there is an atheist employer who doesn’t want to provide abortifacients, why should he be forced to at the point of a gun?

So nice of our great leader to ALLOW us a special exemption given to us by the government, I mean now that they have given us this exemption they will never ever take it away.... Right?

Dems are all about getting through their nefarious legislation surreptitiously. Once it is brought to light, they back off. How many are aware that the welfare reform of the Republican congress during the Clinton years was quietly dismantled by Obama and the Dem Congress in 2009.

Mr. Obama foists an evasion not an accommodation. His policy, which may be illegal, is a minor distinction and not a difference.

This discussion is about the wrong thing anyway -

WHAT THE F?

The PRESIDENT is supposed to sign bills sent to his desk by Congress - then - enforce and implment those laws.

He has NO AUTHORITY to play this game of “I decide who does what” -

This is total insanity.

Pass the law or not. This is not up to him. This is insane.

muzzie owned business refuses to provide health insurance that includes heart valve replacement because they use pig valves - do we have to let them get away with that?

Why not? Insurance like that is designed for a specific group of people to share their risks and to cover what they need covered.
The fedgov doesn’t like that approach and is demanding that you cover what they want you to cover, regardless of your beliefs or needs.

If you are working for such a muzzie co., you either already know its not covered or you get your insurance elsewhere.
Say you work for a co with post menopausal women and older men.[Yes, as a matter of fact I do work for just such a small firm] Zerocare says you have to offer maternity benefits. What for? Its sort of like carrying collision on a car after its paid off...most folks drop it.

No matter what the “accommodation”, he will reverse it after he wins the election based on his lies.

I can't speak for anyone else on FR, but I do not compromise on my core beliefs. NO, I am not a catholic. Once the Feds can pull this off - just like the Obamacare - they will come for ALL YOUR RIGTS. ZERO has already trashed the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Just one more step in our coffin.

NO COMPROMISE - THIS MUST BE UNDONE COMPLETELY.

Thats part of the 2000 plus pages. Repeatedly throughout the document is authorization for the Secretary of Health and Human Services to devise such regulations as he sees fit.

This is one of them.

There’s all sorts of hidden goodies in this travesty of a “law”.

Friday late PM announcement by The WON. Says it all.

Absolutely, as opposed to a typical noontime "Call to Worship" by his holiness, during the Rush Limbaugh show.

He’s trying to bamboozle religious groups into thinking he changed his position so he can mitigate the damage and get reelected but then if he does get reelected he’ll just change it back again.

Religious Groups better remember, “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me”.

Zero stepped in it big time. He has already offended the Jews, and maybe he only loses 5% of them-—and now the Catholics and maybe he only loses %5 of them. Da yuts gonna stay home, and it all adds up to a single term for Zero.
