BREAKING: Pro-life leaders slam White House ‘compromise’ on birth control mandate

WASHINGTON, February 10, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The White House announced today that, instead of forcing religious employers to pay for birth control, it will force insurance companies to offer the drugs free of charge to all women, no matter where they work.

The plan, touted as a concession to freedom of religion and conscience, was immediately denounced by pro-life Rep. Chris Smith. “The so-called new policy is the discredited old policy, dressed up to look like something else,. said Smith. .It remains a serious violation of religious freedom. Only the most naï or gullible would accept this as a change in policy.”

“The White House Fact Sheet is riddled with doublespeak and contradiction,” Smith continued. “It states, for example, that religious employers ‘will not’ have to pay for abortion pills, sterilization and contraception, but their ‘insurance companies’ will. Who pays for the insurance policy? The religious employer.”

Folks, this is just the tip pf the iceberg as far as medical expenses which arise from the promiscuity of a large segment of the population!!!

I know this because I worked in a medical laboratory in a somewhat small (8 providers) clinic. Daily we had young people coming in for treatment for sexually tramsmitted diseases. And there are now many of them: syphillis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Herpes, HPV, etc. The cost for lab tests alone are enormous. Then add in the costs of a pregnancy with an unmarried couple or the cost of an abortion - you get the picture.

Our culture had turned upside down. There is no common sense here. People who have traditrional values are ridiculed by the idiots among us. It is reprehensible. I have had enough of this, and I have decided to fight back. Letters to the editor, and in-the-face responses when I hear stupid statements about Newt or Rick being extyremists. Jesus was right. We are the salt of the earth. We need to proclaim our beliefs without reservation.

So...instead of being forced to provide ‘services’ that violate your conscience and religious beliefs, you can just pay someone else who will then do it on your behalf? Riiiiiiight.

I don’t know what is more frightening - the thought that they think people are stupid enough to buy this; or the thought that they actually do, themselves, believe it!

This shows his true marxist ideology in that he will never back down from his mission to destroy America.

This is the nail from which he will be hung on the cross. Now the GOP and every other freedom loving American need to show resolve and not stop. He can be defeated. But he also needs to be destroyed.

Does the Church have a medical insurance company of its own ? There is no way that a Catholic medical insurance company would pay for an abortion.

You raise the million dollar question and the fallacy of the comprise! It isn't a compromise, it is a slap in the face! The post of the day!

The Church whether self insured or paying for "contracts" with insurers, they still don't want to have to offer it, it is their dang choice a choice of conscience!

Again he is forcing a contract on us this time through an intermediary the insurance company!

He has not waiver'd from his the template(s) used in Obamacare!

The shredding of our liberties continue!

Exactly. All of it.

We’ve forgotten the great AIDS debate, too. “Promote the general welfare,” was thrown under the bus when we stopped testing for AIDS/HIV in certain high-risk areas. Along with AIDS/HIV testing went pre-marriage blood-tests.

If this isn’t the bright red line, we’re not just stupid, we’re dead.

The “in” crowd knows the correct question is

“Is it time yet, Claire?”

Such arrogance! The President has no delegated power to "compromise" on an area which is not within his purview in the first place.

There are those here and elsewhere who recognize that this is not about "women's health," or "contraception," or any other semantic terms used by the President and his surrogates. So-called "health care reform" itself was the Trojan Horse used by Obama and his fellow "progressives" to bypass and subvert the United States Constitution's limitations on coercive power.

". . . every word of [the Constitution] decides a question between power and liberty. . . ." - James Madison, National Gazette, January 19, 1792

Ours is a "People's" Constitution structuring and limiting the powers of our government, including that of any elected President.

That Constitution has not been amended to grant this President, or any other President, the right to violate its First Amendment's protections. Those provisions are not within the purview of the President, nor any other branch of the government.

The time has come for "the People," to assert their sovereign will and to reject all efforts to bypass or ignore the Constitution.

§ 1907. If these Commentaries shall but inspire in the rising generation a more ardent love of their country, an unquenchable thirst for liberty, and a profound reverence for the constitution and the Union, then they will have accomplished all, that their author ought to desire. Let the American youth never forget, that they possess a noble inheritance, bought by the toils, and sufferings, and blood of their ancestors; and capable, if wisely improved, and faithfully guarded, of transmitting to their latest posterity all the substantial blessings of fife, the peaceful enjoyment of liberty, property, religion, and independence. The structure has been erected by architects of consummate skill and fidelity; its foundations are solid; its compartments are beautiful, as well as useful; its arrangements are full of wisdom and order; and its defences are impregnable from without. It has been reared for immortality, if the work of man may justly aspire to such a title. It may, nevertheless, perish in an hour by the folly, or corruption, or negligence of its only keepers, THE PEOPLE. Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall, when the wise are banished from the public councils, because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded, because they flatter the people, in order to betray them."

Snort.
Well you know...it’s a little known fact that the citizens of Austria speak “Austrian”

One more thing to rant about our stupid culture and the liberals.

I have a friend who is a devout Mormon. Her daughter went into a clinic to get a pre-marital physical exam. She was put throught a gautlet of intrusive questions about her relationship with her fiance. Now I can understand some of these questions being necessary. However, when the young woman told the physician that she and her fiance did not believe in pre-marital sex and that she was therefore a virgin - she was met witrh scepticism and an attitude of disbelief. This young lady was made to feel like a freak of nature because she had sincere religious beliefs against promiscuity.

May God have mercy on us all.

We ought to be overjoyed from the perspective that he is bringing up this highly controversial issue in the middle of an election cycle. If I were Plouffe or Axelrod I’d put duct tape on the SOB.

Now as far as the issue itself is concerned, yes we ought to be furious. And we for sure can’t let it die.

Or, ask them about Catholic institutions that are self insured.

It’s very common (especially for large organizations) to be their own insurance company. AT&T, for example, underwrites its employee health insurance (it is administered by another company, but AT&T is actually the insurance company).

Cost is not really the main issue, it is the first amendment separation of church and state that is the issue.

The government has stepped outside of their prescribed authority.

The right of life comes before the pursuit of happiness

EXACTLY! It is the right to 1) LIFE, 2) LIBERTY and then 3)THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS!

And it should be applied in that order! There was a reason and meaning behind every word within our Constitution and the Declaration of Independence! Of course, to Obama and the Democrats, these are just old pieces of paper with no real meaning in today's society!

And that's exactly what the Bishops are stating, in their letters to Parishes all over this country!

Too bad the republicans didn’t put forth a good slate of nominees. I like Newt and all, but right now he’s going scorched earth to pay back Romney for the crap he pulled in Iowa. I can’t blame him either—and it does help Santorum out quite a bit.

Romney is the worst thing that happened to our party this election cycle. I pray for a brokered convention where we can have someone new on the ticket that hasn’t had millions in negative ads ran against him for 1 year.

Maybe those who wanted Govt health care and many Catholic now will wake up and understand obama has been lying since he came on the scene back at the Dem convention.

Like homosexual marriage, this is not the aim, but as a step to a bigger agenda.

Homosexual marriage is a step which leads to getting kids, then teaching in schools.
With health care this is about making Catholic and other churches to accept homosexual women as Priests and they will use the discrimination law but ignore the 1st amendment which clearly states freedom of religion and the Govt shall not infringe etc.

Then they are now closing down free speech on this ,
Then the 9th uses the 14th amendment for CA marriage which was a dud because they can marry like us but not the same sex, plus their ruling then applies to all sorts of marriage like 8 wives.

The constitution is being pissed on and instead of McConell etc giving boring no emotion speeches on the floor they need to show some passion, get on the live cameras and go mad about this and show emotion, while stopping this and with obama doing all of this then it seems there is grounds for impeachment, same goes for Ginsburg and the 9th district
