RUSH: The story here is 2007. I've had a number of people tell me they didn't know --- they hadn't heard --- about this link between abortion and breast cancer. Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons. This is 2007.
"The Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons published a study yesterday entitled, 'The Breast Cancer Epidemic.' It showed that, among seven risk factors, abortion is the 'best predictor of breast cancer,' and fertility is also a useful predictor. The study by Patrick Carroll of PAPRI in London showed that countries with higher abortion rates, such as England & Wales, could expect a substantial increase in breast cancer incidence. Where abortion rates are low (i.e., Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic) a smaller increase is expected. Where a decline in abortion has taken place, (i.e., Denmark and Finland) a decline in breast cancer is anticipated."
This is based on studies. "Carroll used the same mathematical model for a previous forecast of numbers of breast cancers in future years for England & Wales based on cancer data up to 1997 that has proved quite accurate for predicting cancers observed in years 1998 to 2004." So it's a British group and they're studying it in England and European countries, but this is by no means the only story that's ever been published on this. It's quite common. Now, not in the Drive-By Media, but I know about it. It's happening.
I don't know how many different links I've seen, different studies. (interruption) Who went ballistic the first time I did this? (interruption) Oh, well, I think they do every time I mention it. I do remember first mentioning this five or six years ago. And of course any time you succeed in piercing the protective cocoon in which the left lives they act like stuck pigs. Any time you come up with a winning pro-life argument, they go batty. They go nuts. One of the unspoken controversies, by the way, between the Susan Komen foundation and Planned Parenthood... Even I failed to make this connection.
Folks, you've got Komen, which is a foundation trying to go eliminate or reduce breast cancer. And then you got Planned Parenthood which is conducting abortions which lead to an increase in breast cancer. And the president of the Komen foundation eliminated some of the funding for Planned Parenthood based on some guidelines that they have. She's been forced to walk the plank and resign, by the way. That's the latest on that. But that was an unspoken undercurrent going on between these two groups, and that's why Planned Parenthood went absolutely batty when Komen pulled their money. There are links, and they have been documented by medical authorities that are irrefutable on the linkage to abortion and breast cancer.

I heard him talking about this today and I thought, if he can push this to the front of the media, the anti-baby crowd will go absolutely nuts with rage.
I’ve also read there is a link between being on the pill for many years and breast cancer and that B.C. rates also are very low for birth mothers with apparent links to both childen birthed and children nursed.
I also think I read that B.C. is very rare among women with 2 or more children who nursed them.....maybe 3 or more......
All makes sense....when you mess with original design, you’re gonna pay the piper......

Exactly!
Sadly it won't move to the front of the media. The study came out in 2007 and there was general outrage among the left. But then it was buried pretty quickly and I have been very surprised that no one has raised this report from the dead during the Komen controversy. Bottom line is this: Komen is funding the very thing it is fighting. I guess that's good for the longevity of the cause and the funding. (Ask Jesse Jackson about that kind of thing.)
I took BC pills when I was younger, but my husband served 2 tours in Vietnam and every time he did I stopped taking them because I did hear too, that there was a link between birth control pills and cancer. I just wanted to play it save
This is why I don’t support Komen, even if they don’t directly fund Planned Parenthood. They will not even acknowledge the truth that abortion (and early miscarriage, which is no sin or fault) increases the risk of later breast cancer. So, I don’t really believe they care all that much about breast cancer sufferers.
American cancer assoc says birth control pills are right up there with smoking. Play with hormones and you ask for trouble in the future.
I’ll bet you the pro-aborts will say that they will just take the stem cells from the aborted babies and cure the breast cancer in those who exercised their right to choose.
That’s how those sick bastar*s think.

This data and the rationale of abortions with a link to Breast Cancer, has been around a long time.
However, since it doesn’t met with the left wing’s core beliefs, so they will ignore it and believe the bad science data like they do with global warming.
Ive also read there is a link between being on the pill for many years and breast cancer and that B.C. rates also are very low for birth mothers with apparent links to both childen birthed and children nursed.

Pregnancy and breast feeding has been known to CURE breast cancer...or at least put it into remission.
The pill does not affect breast cancer rates. But childbirth and breast feeding does. I think the pill might affect ovarian cancer rates.
However, we don’t really know for sure if it is the pill that is doing it or if it is lack of children. I kinda think any woman who never has children is going to be at a higher risk of breast AND ovarian cancer regardless if she’s ever used the pill.
“The Biological Explanation
How does an abortion leave a woman with more cancer-vulnerable cells in her breasts than she had before she became pregnant? We offer two versions of the biological rationale for the abortion-breast cancer link: a Brief Summary and the longer Detailed Explanation.”

BREAST CANCER RISK FACTORS with references starts on page 25. The importance of reproductive factors in affecting breast cancer risk has been known for a long time. Women who have never given birth (or had a full-term pregnancy) are at a higher risk for breast cancer compared to women who have carried a pregnancy to term.(Page 26)
This is a very comprehensive site that’s been
around for years.

Our bodies were miraculously designed and
ordered by the Almighty. You unnaturally
alter one natural process, something else
is affected.
Recent use of birth control pills: Studies have found that women who are using birth control pills have a slightly greater risk of breast cancer than women who have never used them. This risk seems to go back to normal over time once the pills are stopped. Women who stopped using the pill more than 10 years ago do not seem to have any increased risk.
The NY State Dept. Of Health had a similar message in a PDF in 2006 that's linked in comment# 15.
It might be expected that exogenous estrogens such as those found in various hormone preparations may also play a role. In many studies, oral contraceptives (birth control pills) have been found to increase risk of breast cancer. The greatest increased risk has been observed in current users, and former users within five years of discontinuing use; little increased risk is observed ten or more years after discontinuing use. Hormone replacement therapy is used to counteract the effects of the cessation of estrogen production during menopause. Replacement therapy has been found to increase breast cancer risk to the same extent as not going through menopause.IMHO, the literature is fairly confusing.
The plight of nuns: hazards of nulliparity
Two large epidemiological studies10, 11 of the health effects of contraceptive pills have shown that the oral contraceptive pill significantly decreases overall mortality rate, does not increase breast cancer risk, and significantly reduces risk of both ovarian and uterine cancers. The overall mortality rate in ever users of the oral contraceptive pill was reduced by 12% compared with never users. In both studies, the adjusted relative risks (RR) of ovarian (RR 0·53 [95% CI 0·380·72]10 and 0·4 [0·30·6]11) and endometrial cancers (0·43 [0·210·88] and 0·3 [0·10·8]) were reduced by 5060% compared with never users, and the protection persisted for 20 years, which shows long-term benefit. The oral contraceptive did not reduce the RR of breast cancer (0·9 [0·741·08] and 1·0 [0·81·2]).The article is a FReebie. You just have to register at Lancet. I'd like to see newer studies with the lower doses that are being used now.
Thanks as usual for your pings re the oldest and latest literature on medical subjects that can impact us, family or friends.
You do an incredible job of keeping track of the real data and making it available to us, relatives and friends.
Thanks for your excellent research.
