A top official with the National Rifle Association said Friday that President Obama will move to "destroy" gun rights and "erase" the Second Amendment if he is re-elected in November.
While delivering one of the liveliest and best-received speeches at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre said the president's low-key approach to gun rights during his first term was "a "conspiracy to ensure re-election by lulling gun owners to sleep."
"All that first term, lip service to gun owners is just part of a massive Obama conspiracy to deceive voters and hide his true intentions to destroy the Second Amendment during his second term," he said.
"We see the president's strategy crystal clear: Get re-elected and, with no more elections to worry about, get busy dismantling and destroying our firearms' freedom, erase the Second Amendment from the Bill of Rights and excise it from the U.S. Constitution."
Mr. LaPierre said the president's two Supreme Court appointees — Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan— are "two of the most rabid anti-gun justices in history." He also accused Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg of being a foe of gun rights.
And with the possibility of two or more Supreme Court justice positions opening during the next four years, the NRA official warned that gun ownership would be in jeopardy if Mr. Obama stays in office.
"If we get one more like those three, the Second Amendment is finished," he said. "It'll be the end of our freedom forever."

Obama can do whatever he wants guns or no guns because nobody seems to have the guts to stop the tyrant. Unless more conservatives get more involved in the political fight we’ll all be sitting on a pile of guns with no freedom.
Guns, one of the few topics that unite statists and libertarians on the FR. I just don’t see zero broaching the subject overtly. It’ll be some kind of back door regulation twisting that he is famous for.

What Obama is doing is starving the takers to revolt against the makers, to either kill us off and also give a pretext for him to use government power to come after us.
He may even bulk-ship guns to Mexico hoping to gin up support for more gun control here...........
Yep, when Occupy riots as ordered, and guns are used, guns will have to be confiscated from everyone (except criminals) to keep the peace.

The plan is in the works: Bring all the troops home where they are handy and available for controlling the population. Have Michelle feign a concern and cozy up to the military like she has been doing for the past two years. Next...take away the guns of private U.S. citizens. Then...order the military to police the country...ala Hitler. Yep...that is what is coming if Obama is given a second term.

I really don't care anymore just who the GOP has as a candidate now. I just know we must get Obama out of there and worry about the rest later. No one in the Republican party, whether a true conservative or not, could possibly be as bad as Obama and his collection of criminals and America hating progressives/liberals/socialists who are running and ruining this country. Whether we like the GOP pic or not...we must get behind him and get the narcissistic, socialist maniac out of the Oval Office and on the list of unemployed!

I agree. Those of us who can comprehend these economy numbers simply don’t believe that they can be corrected. Trillions are VERY large numbers. When Carl Sagan was asked how many stars are in the galaxy, he said “Billions and Billions”
I heard a geological survey state that there are about 200,000 billion trees in the US. (Not sure if that’s lower 48 or not, or even to confirm the claim at all). Trillions are just too large to comprehend.
There is no recovery from this. It’s terminal. It’s not something “Our Children” or “Our Children’s Children” can pay off. The pay-off would be hundreds of generations.
The money in our wallets, in our banks, even in our power-ball hopes is all fictional. It’s worthless. And at some point, the truth will catch up with us. Even $1000 dollar loaves of bread aren’t in the number ranges.
It’s already happened. The next president, be it Obama or not, will own this problem. And I fear that the brain-dead masses will make the GOP own that problem.
I envision people in 2013, chanting how much they miss Obama. Again, if we make it to another election. I’m not saying that there will be no election ever again, but I hope whatever group is strong enough to survive this and gain control over the United States simply returns us to the Constitution in it’s current form. I do fear that I will die in a land where firearms are completely illegal, and there is no where left on the planet where I (Or us) can live without subjugation. It truly is scary.

What if Obama could help his re-election chances and get new gun laws inacted with one event?
If someone shot at him and wounded him the media would show clips of the Kennedy Camelot 24/7, plus clips of Gabrielle Giffords (and show a 5 second clip of Reagan at 3 or 4a.m. so they can say they are fair and balanced). Talk radio and the hatefulness of the tea party would be covered ad nauseum. Pictures of Obama with his girls and playing basketball would be shown and all talk of unemployment would be gone along with his unconstitutional power grabs. The media and democrats would cry, “now is the time to get rid of guns”. We know they won’t let facts get in the way as they demonstrated right after the Gifford shooting.
The republican presidential candidate would be expected to stop saying anything remotely critical of Obama’s 1st term. It would truly cause a paralysis even worse than they’ve already shown as they would be petrified of media and voter backlash. The media would be like a mama bear guarding her cub.
I wouldn’t put it past them to do a PSA with Obama in a hospital bed about how important it is to rid ourselves of guns. It is a chilling scenario and would probably work. That’s what my tin foil hat showed me today! :)
Yes and as a member, that really burns me up.
There will be perfumed princes shot and there will be some go along to get along and when it is finished 90% plus of the military will view themselves as a part of “we the people”. That opinion comes from twenty years active duty and many shoot the chit conversations, more than a few where of the “what would you do if” variety. Most of us, active duty, prior service, or retired, are cognizant of the first directive in our oath, to protect and defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. AND THAT OATH DOES NOT EXPIRE!
No charges, no trial, no problem. Thanks to the US Congress, Republicans and Democrats alike.

That is a true tragedy. All my weapons are clean, loaded and ready to hand. That way I don’t have to ask any thugs to wait while I dig them up and load.

Unfortunately the pro-America stance is going to be an underground movement if this Kenyan moron is elected again. Any overt displays of "Constitutional Rights" will be met with extreme legal prejudice.
My only hope, as a Floridian, is that my governor and the governors of other proper-thinking states will stand up to the Federal goons and say, "Nope, not in my state. Any state or local law enforcement officials who abide by this Federal mandate will be immediately fired and imprisoned. We are a pro-gun state!"
If it comes to punches and governors call up militias, you can bet your ass that the limp-wristed assholes in the Northeast will fold like lawn chairs when a bunch of bedraggled southern and mid-western militiamen come rolling down Broadway with a panoply of antique and modern weaponry.

Until this attack on religious freedom I would have agreed with you; I think they are focusing on the “second term” because at that point while it may be a losing issue politically (by the Dems’ own admission) he won’t be available for retaliation at the ballot box (and other Dem candidates will simply try to distance themselves from the issue).
Americans are stupid enough that if you show enough “cash-for-kids” children killed by stray fire in ghettos people will vote against guns to pretend they care about black people (it’s a lot easier than actually doing something).
You are so right. If anybody had guts we could stop the tyranny simply by withholding our tax money. No call to shoot anybody, they would crap themselves inside-out if the money stopped flowing their way.
But we have no guts even to do that.

The Founders recognized that the Second Amendment was necessary to keep the government from going overboard. While most of us would say that happened a long while back, trying to usurp the right of self defense from the People will likely mean the Feds draw back a bloodied stump.
