Perry says he was right to accuse Obama of "War on Religion"
reuters ^ | 2/11/2012 | Jim Forsyth

Posted on 02/11/2012 9:08:49 AM PST by tobyhill

Former Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry said on Thursday that the dispute between President Barack Obama and the Catholic church over contraception shows he was right to accuse Obama of a "War on Religion."

Perry, who quit the presidential campaign last month after a faltering performance, said that he was blasted last September for criticizing Obama as hostile to religion.

Perry ran ads before the Iowa caucuses stressing his Christian religion and saying that he would restore respect for religion if he were elected.

"But last night if you turned on a television or heard talk radio or read a newspaper this morning, that's all people are talking about, is the President's war on religion," Perry said in a telephone interview with San Antonio radio station WOAI after he spoke to a convention of conservatives in Washington.

I could be wrong, but I think ConorMacNessa was saying *Obama* panders to the muslims.

Rick is wrong. 0bama0 is not prosecuting a war against religion.

Commies despise religion. They may use it on occasion to help advance their agenda. "Liberation Theology" is an entirely bogus religion concocted by communists to promote revolution via fake churches.

I apologize. I'm sorry to have jumped to the wrong conclusion -- mine was an unfortunate (if not accurate) knee-jerk post from FR-PSTD.

His job will be to make nice with all of the Christians and advise Obama on how to pretend to be one.

I supported Perry early in his campaign...he did not bring it off. He not only wasn’t presidential...he seemed dumb.

Sorry...but that’s the way it came aross. With the liberal media pointing out every gaff...and enlarging their importance...he faded in the polls quickly.

This points up that a conservative must run a near perfect campaign...or the elites will crush him. He didn’t, and they did.

Obama’s “religion” is communist Black Liberation Theology.

I would argue that Obama’s primary religion is liberal statism (to borrow from Mark Levin). Black Liberation Theology is a marxist theology based on racism. Liberals celebrate that theology based on skin color and opposition to normal America. We see the same thing with the far left and Islam. The “non-PC” elements of Islam are accepted and protected as a minority counter-culture influence. It helps that Islam hates Christianity too.

Obama’s entire life has been full of influences opposed to the idea of Judeo-Christian values. His mother was a counter-culture radical. His grandparents and mentor (Frank Marshal Davis) were counter-culture communist progressives. His educational influences were Ivy League leftists. His church was radical Black Liberation Theology. His community agitator days were classic hardcore race based liberalism mixed with government solutions. His associates and neighbors were a mix of the same brands. His closest advisors are a mix of the same. He and his wife also suffer from the hollywood/wine country liberalism where they are “down with the revolution” but expect and enjoy the fruits of great wealth as champions of the downtrodden. They are certainly elitists.

In summary, we elected a man who is a complete product, from start to finish, of hard core liberalism with almost every variety of radical left theology present. He is the expected child of the 1960’s radicalism that directly opposes God and sees itself as the alternative.

It still amazes me that he was elected.

Please draft Perry for the nomination.

Yes! Perry dropped out too early. Sadly, the voters would have rather supported someone who was good at talking about how they'd govern than support someone who had a actual record of successful executive leadership under their belt.

True enough. They forced Perry out before anybody got to know him.

Now, as we witness the SS Mittens sink (thank God!), we’ll have to see where his people go.

Black Liberation Theology is a marxist theology based on racism.

It's more Marxist and anti-Capitalist than it is racist. It only uses race as a means of spreading anger and resentment in the black community where they hope many of the revolutionaries will come. Thugs and gang-bangers, etc.

Obama Espoused Radical [communist revolutionary] Views in College
Steve Malzberg - WOR News Talk Radio 710 ^ | February 12, 2010 | Ronald Kessler
Dr. John C. Drew, a grant writing consultant in Laguna Niguel, Calif., tells Newsmax he met Obama in 1980 when Obama was a sophomore at Occidental College in Los Angeles. Drew had just graduated from Occidental and was attending graduate school at Cornell University.

During Christmas break, Drew says he was at Grauman-Boss’ home in Palo Alto when Obama came over with Mohammed Hasan Chandoo, his roommate from Pakistan.

“Barack [Obama] and Hasan showed up at the house in a BMW, and then we went to a restaurant together,” Drew says. “We had a nice meal, and then we came back to the house and smoked cigarettes and drank and argued politics.”

For the next several hours, they discussed Marxism.

He [Obama] was arguing a straightforward Marxist-Leninist class-struggle point of view, which anticipated that there would be a revolution of the working class, led by revolutionaries, who would overthrow the capitalist system and institute a new socialist government that would redistribute the wealth,” says Drew, who says he himself was then a Marxist.

The idea was basically that wealthy people were exploiting others,” Drew says. “That this was the secret of their wealth, that they weren’t paying others enough for their work, and they were using and taking advantage of other people. He was convinced that a revolution would take place, and it would be a good thing.”

Drew concluded that Obama thought of himself as “part of an intelligent, radical vanguard that was leading the way towards this revolution and towards this new society.” ..."

Referring to Obama’s quote from “Dreams of My Father” that he associated with Marxist professors, Drew says, “What he’s not saying is that he was in 100 percent total agreement with those Marxist professors. When you understand that, Obama’s later associations and policies make more sense, including why he was taken in by Rev. Wright’s ideology.”

A Landslide Mandate For Change

A breakthrough election
Congratulations on an extraordinary history making election!

We can think back with pride to decades of hard work toward our strategic goal of a big enough, broad enough and united enough labor and all-people’s movement that could overcome the ultra-right blockage to all progress. That all people’s movement has come to life, it is dynamic and it has the potential to keep growing.

The election of Barack Obama and a strengthened Congress creates new conditions in our country. There is now the possibility to shift gears and move forward. This new day requires us to further develop our tactics in order to continue to deepen and broaden labor and people’s unity.

There are thousands of experiences that we all have had in these momentous days, some large, some small, all of which express the enormity of change in thinking and readiness for involvement that is underway and that steels us for the battles ahead.

The tears of joy we all shared as crowds gathered to watch the election results here and throughout the world dramatize the new moment we are in.

Change is Here, Change is Coming

Sam Webb, National Chair, Communist Party, USA:

Let me begin with a simple observation: If the last 30 years were an era of reaction, then the coming decade could turn into an era of reform, even radical reform. Six months into the Obama presidency, I would say without hesitation that the landscape, atmosphere, conversation, and agenda have strikingly changed compared to the previous eight years.

In this legislative session, we can envision winning a Medicare-like public option and then going further in the years ahead.

We can visualize passing tough regulatory reforms on the financial industry, which brought the economy to ruin.

We can imagine the troops coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan while U.S. representatives participate in a regional process that brings peace and stability to the entire region.

In the current political climate, the expansion of union rights becomes a real possibility.

Much the same can be said about winning a second stimulus bill, and we sure need one, given the still-rising rate, and likely long term persistence, of unemployment.

Isn’t it possible in the Obama era to create millions of green jobs in manufacturing and other sectors of the economy in tandem with an attack on global warming?

Can’t we envision taking new strides in the long journey for racial and gender equality in this new era, marked at its beginning by the election of the first African American to the presidency?

And isn’t the overhaul of the criminal justice and prison system – a system steeped in racism – no longer pie-in-the sky, but something that can be done in the foreseeable future?

All these things are within reach now!

Points taken and I don’t disagree with you. It is an interesting discussion where few would entirely agree on the summary.

Mind you, we only discuss the influences on him that we know and little is known of his college days and travels.... usually the most formative years for any radical.

I believe it would be most accurate to say he is a champion of anything that opposes the ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers (Judeo-Christian values). It is fair to say that he is a man that most Americans will never understand because we are fundamentally different.

We elected a man forged in ideas that are foreign to what you and I see as our core values, but we must also admit that our nation is shifting away from the Judeo-Christian foundation conservatives believe in.

That brings us to the core issue beyond this President. In the 1950’s it was fair to say that 90% of Americans mostly believed in the same ideas. Today, it would be difficult to say that 50% of Americans believe in the same core ideas because all of us have been influenced to some degree by the same ideas that forged the President.

In the long-run, this attack on Christianity will damage Obama. In the short-run, I think that has really hurt Romney and helps to explain the Santorum surge that seems to be spreading across the country.

In a time when traditional Christianity is under attack, a lot of people are not going to feel comfortable with a candidate with bizarre beliefs. How bizarre most people don't completely understand but the part that most people are aware of is damaging (men becoming gods, eternal marriages, sacred underwear, secret temple rites, etc.). Evangelical Christians and Catholics can generally support candidates of those beliefs systems despite theological differences because they have the same social goals. Despite a recent desire to be associated with orthodox Christianity, Mormonism is remembered as the standoffish group that openly criticized and wanted no association with Orthodox Christians.
