Valentine’s Day has also been soiled by the following:

1. Certain militant feminists have started calling it V Day, with the V standing for violence against women. They want to call attention to that.

2. Certain women’s groups have said that the V stands for vagina, as they have made it an annual tradition to perform “The Vagina Monologues” on college campuses on Valentine’s Day. Reason being, to educate college girls about the vagina? Not sure why they do this.

3. Gay activists try to get marriage licenses on Valentine’s Day to celebrate their love, then get pissed off for the TV cameras when they are denied licenses for couples of the same sex.

We’re a long way from celebrating the love and romance of Valentine’s Days past.

Why does the left have to take over established celebrations to make political statements?

Because, in my opinion, at the core of the movement afoot in the country, is the determination to bring down a society, which is partly accomplished by destroying its icons (Washington was a slave owner; Jefferson screwed his slaves, etc), and ruining its traditions (Washington’s birthday, Lincoln’s birthday, turning Thanksgiving into a national day of mourning, etc).

Gays, for the most part, are being used as pawns - loud, willing pawns - in the effort. And it’s working. See, too, Occupy, ANSWER, etc.

It's what they do. See Gramsci's Long March through our cultural institutions. See "Cultural Marxism," if I remember correctly.
