Sheriff Paul Babeau: Fast and Furious scandal is far from over
Hotair ^ | February 11, 2012 | Tina Korbe

This is a larger scandal than anything like Watergate, Nobody died there. People lied and there was a cover-up.

Here, there’s lies and cover-ups and we still don’t have the answers, but people have been killed.

Fourteen hundred of these guns are still outstanding; other people will die from actions of Eric Holder and the Department of Justice.”

"I’m about ready to see Issa brought up on charges of failure to do his job."

Don't blame Issa- Bring Boehner up on charges, along with holder and buckwheat.

“Come on Ohio, can’t you give us someone decent?”

It’s certain that many Ohioans would be better suited than Boehner, however, he’s there.

As an Ohioan, I would gladly see Boehner cast aside and replaced.

The world watches in disgust.

Tig, “No one knows where the guns came from that ICE agent Avila...”

Sure, no one knows. Shoot Vic doen’t even cares, any more.

“SKS bought by an FBI CI found at the scene of BP.”

Shoot, “BP” Bryon, doesn’t even care anymore.

A lot of very good Mexicans and Americans don’t care anymore. But ifn they could, they would holler, “The Nothing is on our Southern horizon. Its engine is fueled from the darkness in the northeast.”

” No one knows?”. Some no longer care.

Rab.

I have no idea what you just said. My post simply stated a fact that it is not known what the source was of the weapons used to ambush ICE agent Avila because none were recovered.

If nothing comes of this with all of the facts we have, the Republican party may as well fold up shop.

Am disgusted beyond belief.

It is the media’s obligation to protect not only a democrat administration but a Nobel Peace Prize winner as well. If our only hope is o’romney then we are truly doomed. It’s going to come to a point where I will just not care anymore, pack up and move to ????? Will the last man out please shut off the light?

until the people decide to pick up their rifles and clean up the whole mess up, the fix is in. No amount of talking writing , voting or hearings is going to change anything. That should be painfully clear by now

My apologies. I thought you had confused the circumstances of the Zapata and Terry incidents. Thank you for those links. Bookmarked. I didn't think they had caught any of the perps involved in the Zapata-Avila shooting. I can't find it now but Issa had said in an interview about the guns used in that shooting that "we may never know if they were F&F guns." Anyway, this is what I thought you were referring to...

FBI Criminal Informant Complicit in Brian Terry’s Death (PJM Exclusive)

The federal government will still not reveal if one of the two WASR-10 AK-pattern semi-automatic rifles located near the scene — provided to the Sinaloa cartel via Operation Fast and Furious — was the weapon that put a bullet through Brian Terry’s heart. The existence of a third recovered gun, an SKS carbine, has been disputed by the FBI despite the fact it had been talked about openly in the beginning of the investigation among federal agents.

Multiple sources tell PJM that this third weapon “disappeared” because it was the weapon carried by the FBI CI who ran the rip crew. When it was recovered near the scene of the murder and subsequently traced by the ATF, it traced back to the FBI CI via the gun shop in Texas where it was purchased.

"traced back to the FBI CI via the gun shop in Texas where it was purchased."

Which could be why there is no status of the three arrested in the third link I provided.

I just wanted to be sure that you knew that there were three agents that were shot by F&F guns.

"traced back to the FBI CI via the gun shop in Texas where it was purchased."

That was a gun found at Brian Terry's murder so we are talking about a different gun purchased in TX. It was not an F&F gun. I still didn't see where the guns used in the Zapata-Avila shooting had be identified as F&F guns. If any gun was bought in TX it was not an F&F gun because F&F was only an AZ ATF office operation.

F&F was only an AZ ATF office operation.

I wonder if the operation was in fact bigger than they have admitted- and that is still being covered up. The reason I wonder is a few oddities that have happened lately that sound so much like F&F; the FBI agent that was recently convicted (in El Paso I think) of selling arms to Mexico- they are acting like he was a rogue but I wonder if he made his connections while involved in F&F or similiar operation. The other thing that makes me curious is the firearms dealer in Deming,NM and another near Las Cruces,NM that were arrested for trafficing firearms to Mexico- both have stories of dealing with law enforcement and federal agents as reasons they were involved. Could be truly dirty folks and not related. Due to the media not wanting to report much on any of these incidents I don't know enough about them to know really if there is a connection. That may be the point though.

Not to nitpick but guns being bought by straw buyers from TX shops and tracked by ATF would have been overseen by the Dallas or Houston ATF offices. Project Gunrunner was the umbrella operation for the Dallas, Houston, Tucson and L.A. ATF office's operations. Fast and Furious is a name used by the Tucson ATF office. I haven't found specific names for the operations out of the other offices but it only makes sense that they had their own names for their own operations.

Here Cornyn makes a distinction between F&F and other "similar" operations in TX...

Cornyn Presses For Fast and Furious Probe in Texas

In August, Cornyn raised concerns that ATF may have run a similar operation in Texas, something bureau officials have denied.

Here is the ATF's own description of Project Gunrunner...

Project Gunrunner

Here is one of the first articles about the discovery that there were multiple operations like Fast and Furious. It incorrectly uses the name "Operation Gunwalker" (there was never an op by that name anywhere)...

Tip of the 'Gunwalker' iceberg? Are there MORE 'Operations Fast and Furious'?

"Lankford: Special Agent Dodson, let me ask you a series of questions, and this will be for several agents. Give me your best guess, and it's going to be just a guess on this. How many weapons do we have in the United States or in Mexico, that are out there, that are a result of "Fast and Furious," that we do not know where they are?"

"Dodson: Well sir, my best guess estimate at that, and remembering that Fast and Furious was one case, from one group, in one field division."

(snip)

He went on with numbers, of course (2,500 that BATFE facilitated the trafficking of, with from 300 to 800 since recovered), but today let's look at how Special Agent Dodson qualifiied those numbers: "Fast and Furious was one case, from one group, in one field division." The implication is, of course, that there could be other "Operations Fast and Furious," doing their own "gunwalking."

(snip)

Operation Fast and Furious, remember, was a Phoenix field division operation. Houston has its own field division. Any "gunwalking" in Houston would be a separate operation.
