“Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution” is a 10-week online course presented by Hillsdale College.

Featuring an expanded format from the “Introduction to the Constitution” lecture series with Hillsdale College President Dr. Larry Arnn, Constitution 101 follows closely the one-semester course required of all Hillsdale College undergraduate students.

In this course, you can:

watch lectures from the same Hillsdale faculty who teach on campus; study the same readings taught in the College course; submit questions for weekly Q&A sessions with the faculty; access a course study guide; test your knowledge through weekly quizzes; and upon completion of the course, receive a certificate from Hillsdale College.

You must register in order to participate in Constitution 101. Even if you have already signed up for a previous Hillsdale webcast or seminar, we ask that you complete the simple registration process for Constitution 101. There is no cost to register for this course, but we ask that you consider a donation to support our efforts to educate millions of Americans about our nation’s Founding documents and principles.

Info about Hillsdale

As some of you already know, Hillsdale College is one of the very few colleges and universities that refuses to accept any funding of any kind from the U.S. Government.

The founding Articles of Association of the Hillsdale College states it is to provide an education of a sort that will perpetuate the blessing of “civil and religious liberty and intelligent piety” of our nation.

This free offer, which will be available for a limited time only. Styled The Constitution Reader, the course commences with an in-depth look at the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, and continues on by covering such things as the Founders’ understanding of human nature, the rule of law and the distinctions between a tyrannical and the connection between rights and duties. These and other things pertinent to maintaining the freedoms we enjoy are covered by this free course.

Exactly...all the more reason for those of us who are Constitutional defenders to arm ourselves.

It’s always good to learn. We can be *study-buddies*. You bring the beer, I’ll bring the pretzels. ;)

Signed up last week and posted this on Free Republic, Facebook, and both my homeschool group websites. We need people to understand what is at stake.
Thanks for posting. We need to get the word out!
Someone on Free Republic said we need to send the link to our Congressmen. Great idea!

I encourage everyone to sign up for and take this course about the US Constitution.

It is a free, online college level course offered by Hillsdale College (when they ask for a donation, if you are not able to, just elect to click through without donating).

Every American should be deeply aware of what the Constitution says, and then vote accordingly. Encourage your friends to do likewise.

I’m going to recommend it to my liberal friends...because debating them is no fun when they are unarmed.

Perhaps you get what you pay for, butt...

I signed up for the previous set of four lectures by Larry Ahrn (sp?) and was somewhat disappointed. He spent the entire time talking about the Declaration of Independence and its relation to the Constitution. While that is nice to know, it has little legal bearing on the Constitution and how it is now interpreted and/or how it was meant to be interpreted by our current legislatures and courts.

I signed up for this set and am hoping to get a blow by blow account of each section and the Federalist Papers that explain the intentions of the framers. That is what I try to teach to my students.
