A little after 1 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2009, Karl Frisch emailed a memo to his bosses, Media Matters for America founder David Brock and president Eric Burns. In the first few lines, Frisch explained why Media Matters should launch a Fox Fund whose mission would be to attack the Fox News Channel.
Simply put, Frisch wrote, the progressive movement is in need of an enemy. George W. Bush is gone. We really dont have John McCain to kick around any more. Filling the lack of leadership on the right, Fox News has emerged as the central enemy and antagonist of the Obama administration, our Congressional majorities and the progressive movement as a whole.
We must take Fox News head-on in a well funded, presidential-style campaign to discredit and embarrass the network, making it illegitimate in the eyes of news consumers.

The DNC boys know that they are in big trouble when they decide to turn their little homo ‘RAT loose on FOX News.
I'm sure Holder and the boys at IRS will jump right on this...
I listened to the handwringing by all of the fox shows tonight about the unscrupulousness of Media Matters and the methods of the left and I laughed. Wake up and figure it out.
WTF?? I say investigate the people at Media Matters!
This is from the period when Glen Beck’s daily 5pm TV show was literally KILLING THEM, every single day.
Soros said he would get even, and tried to warn Murdock off, but when that didn’t work, out comes the criminal charges against NewsCorp in Europe, and Beck is off the air.
Remember folks, this is a GLOBAL MOVEMENT we are fighting, not just some college radicals in the U.S.
Beck spoke about a Soros lieutenant basically threatening (Vito-style) his own chief of staff, telling them to back off.
While Fox and probably Beck were undoubtedly the recipient of intense pressure, GB did indeed land on his feet with GBTV - two hours every afternoon, plus other very good programming that lays the left bare. I remember him saying in the last month on Fox: “The Left will long for the days when I was only on one hour a day.”
Now, how much $$ did Soros funnel into Media Matters?
Is it anywhere close to the 2-4 MILLION viewers he had on FOX News?
Obama and his minions could care less about him, now.
They achieved what they wanted, they got him off the Magic Squawking Box in the Sheeple’s living room at 5PM.
Seems all we have left is F.R. for our news and Freepers can analyze it better than any media.
I haven't had FOX on for weeks now, thought I would tune in, but not until I feel sure they have gotten over Whitney, which won't be for another 2 weeks, I'm sure.
What’s interesting is that there are probably a number of wh9iney little FReepers who are siding with the Democrats in this matter.
Media Smatters? What’s that?
I think so too, annieokie. With Drudge, Dally Caller, Hot Air, NRO, Fox (and many other outlets) being very pro-Romney, you cannot find honest journalism. I read a story off a link from TownHall to Huffpo and they actually have a fair article on the race (and the comments of the readers are very eye opening)
I wish somebody would tell CoastToCoastAM that! Eleven years of Bush bashing continue through last Saturday night with three more hours of hatin' on Bush.
