Another Newt Gingrich 'comeback' on the horizon?
Fox News ^ | 2/15/2012 | Greta Van Sustern

GINGRICH: No. It just means that we're going to have to pick up all those delegates in late May, just before the California primary, when we hope to pick up more delegates out here.

That still means that on super-Tuesday, we're looking at Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, we're looking at Ohio. It means the week after super- Tuesday, we're looking at Alabama and Mississippi.

Now, we have hopes that we're going to keep picking up delegates everywhere and continue. This race is going on for a long time, I think. And what Texas moving back means, combined with California being in early June, the two biggest states in the country aren't going to be deciding and may well be the two states that decide who the nominee is.

VAN SUSTEREN: As a practical matter, though, if you could pick up Texas early on, it would be -- it certainly would be a -- you know, good for donors. I mean, it'd be sort of a good incentive to get donors to pay into your campaign if you picked up 155 delegates

Newt is America.
Romney is Wall Street.
Paul likes free things.
Rick wants to be father knows best.

CNN just cancelled the March 1st debate because Romney, —>>Santorum, and Paul declined to debate. Actually pretty smart and politically astute.

It could come across as being weak/ afraid to take a risk on a debate error or a plus. The debate was set up, why did they wait until just now to cancel. It was planned by the Georgian Republican Party. I would love to have seen that since now people are actually beginning to pay closer attention. I guess it all depends who candidate canceled, if it was a good or a bad call. Anyway, I am disappointed. Imo. ( Stay with Newt, he's on the ballot)

I still think Newt will win the nomination.
Personally, I WANT a “Washington insider” who knows where all the bodies are buried.
I trust Newt to have the tenacity and willingness to play political hardball to make major changes.

I am fine and dandy with Rick, though, if he wins it.

I love that Newt mentioned he could eliminate CAFE standards. This is the first time I have heard a candidate propose this.

If anyone is closely watching the world situation right now, I would surely hope they will once again make Newt the front runner. Can’t imagine any of the others in the race being able to cope with or handle a disasterous Middle East dust up.

California will award 169 delegates to the convention, all committed. Winner take all.

If Newt picks up CA we are definitely looking at a brokered convention assuming even 3 candidates make it to the June 5th primary.

At this very minute I am listening to a Newt Gingrich talk on strategy to the nomination and fundraising.

Anyway, 1,144 delegates are required for the nomination. Most of those this year are proportionally awarded...and most of the winner-take-all closed primaries happen after Super Tuesday.

A total of 171 come from CA, winner take all.

CA has not mattered much in Presidential politics for a long time. In the general is a reliable Blue voter. In the primaries, it's winner-take-all CLOSED primary usually had only one GOP candidate in the race because it doesn't happen until very late on the calendar.

If there are 3 candidates or more, CA looms very, very large indeed. It will either crown the winner or will ASCERTAIN a brokered convention.

Newt’s doing a tele-town hall right now. Call 855-ASK-NEWT until 9 PM ET to listen in.

He just said the Department of Energy has produced no energy, LOL. Love that line...

They are debating him 22 February. If they were chicken they would cancel that one too. I wouldn’t mind if they did actually. We have had enough liberal questions debates. If it was conservatives asking the questions that might be different.

Don’t call it a “comeback”.

He's been here for years.

When Romney turns his big guns on Santorum (and he has already begun)...that leaves only Newt.

And Romney has run out of Mormon country and is getting low on cash.

Go Newt!

And mark my words! I am never wrong.

I donated to Perry...and then to Cain!

I donated to Newt but thought about using an alias considering my track record.

Go Newt...prove me wrong!

;-)

Paul is a curmudgeon who simply wants to be left alone to conserve his assets.

If he sees a woman raped on the street...he keeps walking. If he sees a neighbor beating his dog...it's not his problem.

I dont't know if Paul is a coward or just someone who refuses to get involved...but I don't like him!

Newt said he was thinking of renting broadcast time to give a speech. I’m going to e-mail another suggestion...rent a liberal to have a debate with. Alan Colmes, Bob Beckel, etc. I’m sure there would be some who’d want the exposure. It’ll be a more interesting debate since it’ll have the liberal/conservative contrast and would demonstrate more closely how Newt would sound in a debate with Obama.

Now some guy is telling him he should explain what Lean Six Sigma is...good suggestion, heh.
