The Maine Republican Party is reviewing its numbers from the presidential caucuses as pressure grows for a recount.

“We are confirming the totals from the presidential preference straw poll,” the email says. “Can you please email me the totals from your towns?”

The email does not say when, or whether, state GOP officials will publicly correct or update the results that have been posted on the party’s website since Saturday, when Mitt Romney was declared the winner over Ron Paul by less than 200 votes.

Those official results were inaccurate because several communities that submitted vote totals were left out, including Waterville and much of Waldo County. Community vote totals were entered incorrectly in some other cases.

This is just too convenient for Romney, the Establishment’s choice. I wonder if he winds up losing after the fact again?

You really have to wonder if Romney is brain damaged in some way. A huge portion of his own party doesn’t want him, yet he still wants to be our president.

A rational person would say no thank you.

Romney is cheating again, just like obama. How is he different?

Remember, Iowa is still missing 8 precincts paperwork. I almost can understand 1 precinct losing their paperwork, what are the odds of 8 different ones losing theirs. I know the GOP’s hands are in this for romney. If romney needs those, I'm sure they will be found for him.

That’s why we need big wins over Romney by Santorum in the north and Gingrich in the south. Just to put it out of reach of manipulation.

What are the odds of not one, not two, but 3 major candidates running for the Republican nomination not getting on not one.. not two, but 3 or more of the states ballots? then add in the multiple caucus controversies, it's just nuts.

Lots of weird stuff is happening this primary that I have NEVER seen happen before, and I lay all the blame at Romney and his rabid mormon minions feet.

If you’ve ever worked an election, you would understand that even one precinct “losing their paperwork” means fraud.

Especially in this day in age. I bet at least a dozen people that attended those caucuses probably have the results from that night saved on their cameras and possibly live video too.

Washington County was one that was left out...known to be ‘Paul” country.

How convenient.

Well, yeah... but you could say the same about all of them.
I must admit, my fantasy is that ALL of them quit... on the same day, giving the Republican Establishment an across-the-board breakdown and forcing them to re-write the rules. Then maybe we can actually get a candidate that most of us would feel happy to vote for.

I know. Fat chance... no, no. Make that NO chance.

SIGH.

That's what you get with romney, fraud. Imagine if romney is president (God help us) and he is like obama. What an embarrassment. Pray for anyone but romney & paul. Paul has to be working for romney. People are starting to pick up on the fact that paul has NEVER said anything negative about romney. Faux mentioned it today. If it turns out that romney still wins, I'll bet it was all a rouse, to make it appear romney doesn’’t cheat.

Then you are letting your bias get in the way.

It's Romney and his Republican Establishment Cohorts.

We're talking, for example, about Maine here.

How many Mormons do you think there ARE in Maine? Especially in rural [ think conservative] Maine, which is where the votes didn't get sent in...and up in Washington County? be hard put to find Mormons.

Washington County doesn’t hold their caucus until this Saturday, February 18th. The caucus was postponed last Saturday because of snow.

There is a growing uproar here in Maine amongst GOP voters because of all the screw-ups with the vote counting in various towns and counties. The Ron Paul supporters are especially pissed off. Some areas were not counted correctly; other areas may not have been counted at all.

I wish they would just have a primary and be done with it.

Don't need recount

That's right.

But how about getting the counts from the counties that WEREN'T COUNTED?

Especially the northern - like in old time Conservative Mainers - counties?

RE:

Given the intensity of Ron Paul supporters, one would think any video from the missing precincts would already be circulating online.

I don’t think other people’s desires concern him.

He could still win this if he can successfully smear Santorum and there is enough vote splitting with Gingrich.

Hopefully if RS can rack up enough wins Romney might quit like he did in 2008 when he realized he couldn’t win. Smart businessmen don’t waste their money.

The only sure Romney wins on the near horizon I see are MA and VT on Super Tuesday (and maybe VA if Paul can’t beat him 1 on 1, if Paul wins VA stick a fork in Mitt)

The way Green Papers reads, it’s up to each local caucus to decide whether it will be winner-take-all, proportional, or what.

The local caucuses send representatives to the state convention which in turn selects delegates.

So you could lose and still win.

Romney, or Bain or some other entity at Romney’s arms length, bought Burlington Coat Co. in 2006, and then sold the Lower Manhattan BCC building to the Jihadis to build the Victory Mosque. Romney is a prominent backer of the Victory Mosque.

We held the Androscoggin Caucus in my town of Lewiston, Bob Macdonald Country. He’s the first republican matyor of Lewiston in over 100 years. And we also have a republican city council. So I take pride at we’re doing at the grass roots level here. Too bad the state gop has bleep for brains.
Anyway we caused on the 11th. I supported Paul because he had a chance to win. It’s anybody but Romney for me. Paul won Lewiston and the county, and 70% of the people voted against Romney. And for the first time I actually think D’Amboise has a shot against Snowe in the primary.
Our city and county votes went fine. The key is to make sure that 70% plus of the delegates going to the Maine convention in may are anti-romney. In Lewiston we have a very conservative city committee. In May we’re going to work with our friends in the county to have a very conservative county committee. Hopefully we’ll have enough state committee members after Novemeer to force Charlie Webster into retirement.

The recount numbers were supposed to be posted today. What I’m really interested is the turnout in washington county tomorrow. I believe Governor Lepage got ovey 5500 votes in Washington County. That doesn’t mean they were all republicans, but based on the crap that’s gone down I would ecpect a huge turnout for the event. Tomorrow should be interesting.
